I personally saw the shot as one simply showing that she’ll always be there, connected to him in such a personal way, as if she’s practically a member of his family at this point.

From the time he was a so sad, crying little boy in Miracle Dogs to this vivid piece - I have been consistently impressed by his talent. And the small but significant details in his performances. Ex: the furtive glances and dark circles under his eyes here, the slight but incredulous look he gives the girl when she says she's long wanted to be his friend...His subtle gestures are a real strength. This goes for his talents as a director also. He's truly one of the best of his generation.

If that white powder is cocaine, he may have even been an addict from the start. It may be that hallucinations are derived from the cocaine. Thus his addiction adds to his torment. The red dressed girl is formed from the power of his subconscious. That she is constantly tormenting him is the inner guilt he can't deal with from the childhood drama. In any case it brings us face to face with the inner hell that some people experience with sever forms of mental illness. Applaud you for doing this film.

This was one of the best short films I have seen so far. I am thinking there are 3 possibilities. The first is that he may be schizophrenic and the blond girl is a voice in his head. Or the second possibility is that he could have developed a split or multiple personality disorder and the blond girl is another personality which would explain why he can see her and she is real to him and she is not just a voice he hears in his head like he would if it were just schizophrenia. She could be a personality that developed during whatever it was that had happened to him in the past - which they never really did explain - but it must have been some type of tragedy or traumatic event that could have made him develop another personality to help his mind cope with whatever it was that had happened to him. She could be a really strong personality and that is why she started showing up more and more, trying to dominate him and run his life and he seemed to be looking for a way to get rid of her. She also seemed to appear more after he took his medication though. But after snorting the cocaine in the bathroom he became paranoid, aggressive and psychotic and the blond taunted him relentlessly to kill her and then the other girl. He must have felt that he could get rid of her for good and it would also shut her the Hell up once and for all, so he took her up on her offer by knocking her upside the head and whacking her with the golf club a few times. He was certainly not expecting her to return to the dining room table as if nothing had ever happened either.
The third alternative could be that she is a ghost. We never did find out what it was that he had done or why they had given him the nickname Ape. Maybe she was one of his past girlfriends and he had contributed to her death in some way and she now haunts him which could be another reason why only he can see her. Regardless, of who or what she was/is, it was still an excellent movie and he did an amazing job directing and acting in it! I also want to give a big thumbs up to the writer for coming up with such a great story....and anyone else who took part in creating this awesome short film. Awesome job to all of you!

This video is brilliant. For those who do not know the man in the video is suffering from schizophrenia. However, many people think it is a disorder where a person has multiple personalities however that is only a small part of the disorder. People with the mental illness see, hear, smell, taste and feel things that are not there. The “blonde” girl in the video is one of his delusions. She is his negative inner voice who manipulated him and lowers his self esteem. The video focuses how mental illness is stigmatised by others. As well as how cocaine and other drugs can actually make the disorder worse. When his mother says at the end that they are withdrawing the support because he’s “doing so well” is basically emphasising the idea that people with the disorder don’t always speak out how well they are doing and professionals can never truly tell if their patients are “doing well” because they never see what is actually happening in their head or behind closed doors so they make assumptions

Mrs Ceberest I still see him as Peeta to but honestly I think josh has left Peeta behide after seeing him in escobar paradise lost, the rusted, ape and in dubious battle.

The thing that set this apart from other short films I've seen is the acting. It's not even the fact that it's josh hutcherson, but everyone's acting was very good. Story was very good as well, but the acting is what really drove this movie.

Now that I said the fnaf movie, it’s make so much sense why he was casted for mike Afton, his facial structure, composure & attitude all are on par with the character menology & persona & him looking at the mirror gave so much purple guy looking thru the window once he turned into his purple structure, knowing he’s al fault like his father

Good film..shows how many patients who are struggling with mental illness can spin out of control without their loved ones or doctors knowing. Mental illness and how to treat those with it really needs to improve.

This shit is deep as hell, love love love Josh Hutcherson for sure! The message that i got from this, is that no matter how hard you try and run and hide from your demons/past, they always end up catching up to you! You can never escape nor outrun them no matter how hard you try, because one way or another, its a part of you whether you like it or not... And anything you do in life, good or bad, comes back to you...
