@@MooseEgg1 The idea could almost work *and* be more cost-effective than Jaegers if they just mounted some of their Jaeger weapons on the wall. A single Plasma Cannon seems to be incredibly useful when dealing with even a Cat-4 Kaiju, so a bunch of them mounted on a big ass wall all firing on the same target would be a slaughter, probably even to a Cat-5 as well. Also sticking them on a wall would help with the ammo issue.

For those who are saying the wall of life was a bad idea. You're right but also wrong at the same time You wanna know why Immagine how many times the jaegers had to watch out in city's just to make the collerteral damage as small as possible. That gave the kaijus openings which they used. But now Immagine if they combine the jaegers and the wall. The wall could give the jaegers time so that they can get there and even lock out the kaiju for a short time. Even if it isn't long but every second counts in life and death situations. So that means when the jaegers arrive most of the population nearby can evacuate and the jaeger if nearby can also better intercept the kaiju before it could break trough the wall. And now immagine if they add the turrets from the pacific rim uprising movies. That could even give more time. It would also add more playground for the jaegers so they can focus on the kaiju only so no distractions and also get support from the turrets Now you know why the government are idiots. It was said so many times. No wall will hold forever. They could have helped if they did what I mentioned before so that it would have helped in a long run

+JamaicanCastle Interesting question, it depends on the battlefield; by any accounts the Reaper is significantly tougher and its beam weapon, which has the energy of a nuke in each shot can easily one-shot a Jaegers iron/titanium hull no problem. BUT... If the Jaeger casts the first strike that needn't matter, the Reaper is top-heavy and any Jaeger can easily topple the Reaper and make sure that it cannot get a shot, much like the Kalros/Destroyer fight in ME3; outright destroying the Reaper is tougher, while Jaegers do have ranged capability it's rendered somewhat useless by the Reapers armour so the only other way to destroy it is to keep punching it until its innards are ruined by the concussive force. So in conclusion, Reaper wins normally, Jaeger if it can get the first strike
