Last year I was doing an entrepreneurship course, it was end of semester and everyone in my group had to talk about one topic we learned along the course. Very similarly to cube-o, I obviously chose math, strategy or something along those lines, and for my presentation I decided to talk while solving single handedly a 2x2. My group went first, while I asked for a random person in the audience to scramble it. I the proceeded to start presenting my topic, showed some coding I had done for a robotics class I was also having, and finished the speech with the perfect timing while I solved the 2x2. The people watching went *insane* , the teacher already knew I could solve lots of cubes but that timing couldn't be better. I arrived home still thrilled from the presentation and it still inflates my ego when I remember it.

Lol that kinda happened to me, one of my teachers had a cube and one of my friends told him I could solve it, so when I got to that class he wanted to see me solve it so I started solving it and looked over my shoulder to see the whole class intensely staring at me and when I did solve they were freaking out and they wanted to try, so I think I accidentally introduced at least one person to cubing that day lol

I can relate to you Blue. I'm in 6th grade, and last school year I ran for president at my school, and my campaign for my speech was based on.... a 3X3! I didn't win, but my friend did. It was a close vote so yeah. But, even after, I was in the 5th grade, and being one of the smartest kids in the school and knowing how to solve a 3x3 made me a bit popular, especially how I had used it for my speech and my poster.

You know when I learnt how to cube I became the god in my class for a few months, my class teacher even invited me to show the whole class how I solve the cube, it was one of the best moments of my life no cap (it’s real seriously)

We have very similar stories actually! Here's how I got a selfie with the Mayor.....
I was helping someone organize an event in a library and about twenty mins before it started I had to prepare a speech about my experience with Libraries (I mean, I guess so...). So I somehow worked in a cube solve to my speech ("Books can help you learn how to take this, *unsolved cube*, and turn it into this: *solves cube*").
I was relieved when it was over cause I hadn't felt prepared, but the 30-40 people present thought it was cool. Fun fact: the superintendent of the school board in my city and the CEO of public libraries were in the audience then with a handful of other executives.
Fast forward 6+ months later and I'm going about my life when I receive an email asking me TO GIVE THE SPEECH AGAIN!?!?!?!?
I was unimpressed with having to do it again, but had thankfully had kept the typed document.
However, this time it wasn't in front of 30-40 people. It was at the Library's annual fundraiser supper with ticket entry in the 100's of dollars. 100's!!
This also meant that this time, I was in front of 300-400 city councillors, company CEO's, and THE MAYOR!
I dressed up....and so was everyone else. I went up, did the speech, nailed a solve and people lost their minds way more than I ever expected.
As I exited the stage and started towards my table, the mayor jumped up out of his seat and said to me, "Let's take a selfie."
We snapped one.
He tweeted it.
I was in the newspaper two days later.
It was pretty cool.
Was it cause of the cube? Maybe, maybe not. But it played a role. Because - yes - people get pretty psyched when they see someone take the unsolvable and make it look easy.
