Like the video, and it’s helpful. I don’t like trackman indoors though... The number of misreads I got in a room that was 45’x30’x25’ (LxWXH) was astounding. It’s not in-home, but at my CC. Once we switched to GC Quad though, it was much better. The GC Quad and Trackman read very similar numbers, unless the trackman unit failed to pick up the shot, which was about 15% of the time. TM blamed it on the PC we were running, but we bought it from TM with our TM3e unit. Pretty displeased with that.
M.C. Clap-yo-handZ thanks for the note! I actually do not represent TrackMan or any of the launch monitors. There are Pro’s and Cons to all of the models. InHome Golf focuses on the build out of your room- screens, wall treatments, turf, projectors and accessories. We have clients that use TM, Quad, and new devices like OptiShots BallFlight.
Love the video. Looking for ideas on wall padding for my future golf simulator build. Love the checkered idea, but no idea where to look or what to look for. Any ideas?
Im sceptic. How is balls movement captured? Spin, line of travel and so. Is there sensors on the white screen? That make sense. But if the little gadget/lazer/camera on floor is only measuring device then it can hardly be accurate. In my opinion the first few inches after impact on all shots is not much diff. Left/right....up/down(horizontal/vertical) movement during 5inches of travel can hardly be calculated.
MJ Young this video doesn’t show any Tracking technology. There are several companies that sell tracking systems that range from $2500 to $25000. There are systems with cameras and systems with radar and some with floor sensors and they all measure and calculate differently. They are certainly not created equal and you’re right to be sceptical. You should test all the systems and determine what works best for you and your budget! And when that’s done, then I can help you with your screens, ceiling and wall panels, turf, projector, PC and more.
Jonathan Eakin ok. 15’ wide total or visible screen? Can you send me your room drawings and we’ll take a look and let you know what we can do. James@inhomegolf.ca
I'm planning on building a home this summer and thought about making a man cave off the garage. What simulator is fairly low priced but also as accurate as say trackman or similar?
Shane Scott I’m sorry that I seem to have missed this comment. Your question is at the heart of the business! Every tracking system makes bold claims about accuracy and some are better than others. They are not created equally. And a lot is determined by the size of your space and your budget. Can you please send me your contact details to james@inhomegolf.ca and we can review in proper detail?
Sure, I can help you with design and layout and we have a US.install team that can do the work. Sounds like this is a retrofit, not a new build? Do you have any photos of the space you can share with me? James@inhomegolf.ca
Alot of Golfer's just go to a Range and fire shots without any concern to their current Ballistics stat's, why aren't Golf Ranges offering full on Ballistics launchMonitor Reports so you know your current aspec? @JeroSpan
joseph rob there are pros and cons with all systems on the market. Quad provides excellent data but works only left or right handed at one time so playing courses can be hard. The Hawk was released by Foresight to address this but to date I haven’t had a chance to play on it so I’ll reserve my opinion until later.
Maurya Rai hi Maury’s, there are a number of variables but a full build out like the one in this video is in the $25,000 CAD range($20,000USD). Plus you need a tracking system which range from $10,000 to $25,000.
Hey Steve, I'm in Canada but have supplied simulators all over the world! What can you tell me about your project? Is this a new build or a reno? How much space are you dealing with? Do you have photos or drawings you can share with me? Please email me at james@inhomegolf.ca

Seth Snyder hi Seth, thanks for watching! I have several thoughts about a simulator in a garage. Are you planning to “roll it up” on occasion to fit in a car? Is the floor level? Often garages are designed with a grade to drain water/snow. Is there garage door hardware in the ceiling? Can you send me some photos with dimensions and tell me a little about your vision, then we can chat? James@inhomegolf.ca
Hey Seth, I was just commenting on another post and I noticed when I replied to you I did so from my OTHER account - the one I use for the band I play in!! Hope that wasn't confusing! Are you still planning a garage install?
I'd love to know just how realistic these simulators are. Compared to golf on course. There is simply too many factors that is "un-simulateable". I'm talking about the actual measurement and capturing of data. I'm sure data is edited by computer and feedback is manipulated to within a acceptable degree. This is products that need to sell!!!!!...... and we all know what goes with that. I'm totally convinced these gadgets can't measure a shank shot....
MJ Young thanks for the comment! You bring up a great point. When you golf indoors you simply cannot fully replicate the outdoor experience. Indoor turf can give you a good tee deck feel, but things like rough depth and grade changes are difficult to simulate. Even though there are systems with moving floors, it can’t be as variable as outdoors. And sand is impossible to replicate. I think the thing to remember is that golfing indoors in perfect conditions is still better than NOT golfing! And to your second point about technology having the ability to actually capture the data... well, the industry has come along way in the past 20 years. I always recommend that you should go out and try every companies tech before committing. Every company claims they are the industry standard and they have the best data. But obviously that can’t be true. Camera systems have extraordinary frame rates these days and can easily capture a large amount of data. Radar systems that can track bullets do very well indoors as well. You best bet is to not listen to people online but is to go hit balls. And specifically hit good shots AND bad shots. Draws, fades, slices, hooks, suck hooks, shanks, blocks and worse. Most systems can track a straight ball. It’s much harder to capture a finessed shot or a duff. And budget is important. This is an actual case of you get what you pay for. A $3000 system simply won’t capture as well as a $13000 or $23000 system.
@@inhomegolf thanks for responding. I have a rule question for you. Can one have 2putters oncourse in bag. It make lota sense. You hit how many shots on green,? Avg of 30+.....
