Ryan, your commitment to get everything done with that spray insulation was incredible. I just said to hubby I don’t know how you let this stuff roll off you with all the driving back and forth. Thanks for being such a great example to us all.
I ran across your channel several nights ago and I think I’ve got about 25 hours in now of watching. There is nothing better than building something with your own hands. Great great job to both of you.
Nice job guys. I must say my two favorite parts was Ryan putting on his space suit and Von saying “drop it on my head”. Please no more dropping stuff on Von’s head😂 Take care guys.
I don’t know why but I love watching folks cut and put up wood. I’ve never had a wood stove except when I was a child but I never had to chop or stack wood and always thought I’d sure love to try my hand at it. I know it’s hard work but there’s something peaceful about stacking wood . There’s an artistic look about the final product! Hope to see more wood cutting and stacking!
I found this video in my feed this morning. Have subscribed and will be binge watching from oldest to newest videos to catch up. I'm 68 and can no longer do the heavy work I used to do, but I'm looking forward to vicariously enjoying your Alaskan adventure!
That Arctic entry will be appreciated throughout the year. It will help keep the indoor temp more constant, and help keep the mud and dirt outside. Good job!
That insulation around your foundation is going to help you a lot. The little addition is going to make a big difference in the winter, with the wind not blowing in the house when you open the door. Love you guys 😘.
Very nice entry. I would suggest three things...a window in the last wall you put up, just for some natural light. A bench on the first wall you put up, with hooks above it for clothes. Nice to be able to sit down to do your boots. And a motion sensing light so you don't step into the dark of night in there, either from the house or from the outside. Nice to to have to fumble around for a light switch.
I had to chuckle at the basement footage...Amusing watching an albino alien Lizard man. Some more great "Winter prep" getting the house ready. Nice job Ryan & Von.
Great job, you will be glad you put in the Arctic Entry ! I Don't understand other RUclipsrs who build in cold climates that don't do an Arctic Entry ! Cold weather goes straight into their house when entering front door !
You really are in the middle of nowhere. 2 hrs from Delta Junction puts you in the middle of nowhere. holy buckets that has to take some planning on your part, or gas. lol. Looks great!! Cheers! Jason
Nice Sized Entry. You could put shelves or Cabinets up High for Storage. Benches Down Below for Seating, Perhaps with More Storage. Plenty of Space for the Imagination to work. Excellently Done. Shalom, Shalom !! One in the Messiah !
A Halloween costume, Tyvek Man!!! Watch him shimmy into the suit, Haha, Ryan has a potty hole just like the 1 piece jammies. Haha, Von, you're doing the best at moving those framed walls. Pick it up and move it, you don't have to kick it and hurt your toe. The dogs are like, Yo mom, dad, it's too noisy out here, let us in the house. We need a doggie door. Memories, Von, don't stand under Ryan and his tools or sheathing. Haha, Great job guys. LOve you Hugs
Hello from Denmark Nice to follow you in your project to build and your trip out into the fantastic but also harsh nature. Your fantastic good mood despite hard work, we wish you well in the continuation of your project Greetings from Freddy former craftsman / plumber by God's grace now retired.😃
The Artic entry came out really nice. We had an Artic entry up in the Upper Peninsula. Now were in Oklahoma, don't need the Artic entry. Were contemplating closing in our back porch for possible extra freezer space or storage. This project is on our long term (not needing done right now). Lord knows we have a list of things needing done now......who doesn't, right! 😊
Thank you for great videos! 😊✨ I'm glad Ryan got though that basement work !! I know that was tough! Y'all work well together and everything went well with the new mud room addition!! ☺️👍👍 Love y'all. Sending love and support from Florida 🌺💫💫💫🥰
As always, love what you’re doing ! That came out great ! Always enjoy the working together ! And as anyone knows that has a significant other …. You’ll get in more trouble for NOT grabbing her butt than you will if you do !! 😂😎 take care Ryan and Von
Loving the attic entry will make life less messy. Spray foam is the bomb for tight spaces. Also critters dislike chewing through it for some reason we put a brass mesh behind some of it to make sure.
My wife and I built a 12 X 10 shed out in the back yard and by the time we were done I'm lucky she didn't slit my throat! And how does every piece he puts up fit so well? Don't forget the quick access gun cabinet behind the door to hold an AR-10 and a 12 Gauge, just in case a posse of bears decide to attack!
Looks real good Ryan and Von! You are a good team. Never ending job to try to stay warm in the interior. An arctic entry and spray foam will save you some though! Nice job, and thanks so much for sharing. Did you give upon moose? Caribou eats pretty good as well as black bear, but nothing quite as good as moose! Thanks for letting us live vicariously through you! Till next week, be safe and God Bless!
Great video guys. We still need to do insulation on the outside of our old house. It’s a church built in 59 so the insulation sucks. We are hoping to do it next year. The bell-tower entrance is 8x8 and is basically our Arctic entry. We would never live in a house without one. I so glad you have made some great progress at your place. Take care 🌷🇨🇦
The arctic entry will be nice this winter. Also getting the rim joist spray foamed will make it a lot warmer. Glad you are getting things ready for winter.
The mud room is looking good, it'll help keep the wintery blows from inside the house. There's alot to say about a Tyvek house, the ppl inside it are busy enjoying life...lol 😂😅 Love what ya'll are doing 😊
Lookin great guys...hey run a half inch hose and fittings from the compresser an a 3/8 20 ft whip to the gun ..thatel fix the low air volume...great video as usual !!
Come on winter bc yall are ready! Artic entry, spray foam, fire wood....whew! Lot of work involved! Ryan is this the first time using a spray foam kit? You made it look easy enough
I grew up in the hammer and nail era, it’s nice to have the air gun. You did a real nice job on the extra room. Continue to get ready for that long winter while I’m sitting in the shade drinking Irish whiskey.Watching from Panama City Florida, USA. 🇺🇸🦅 No Snow Just Breeze !
Hello from northwest Florida! I'm planting up seeds in flats for my fall garden and looking forward to cooler weather. I've never been to Alaska but one day I hope to vacation up there. I enjoy watching your videos!
Hey Ryan that spray foam looks like a stressful situation with the white suit and hoodie 😂 Hopefully it does the job and doesn't put off any smell. You look cute in that little white suit. ;) 😅
Here in Nordic our doors open out, so wind- and waterproofing much easier, and also locking -and also bonus is not wasting the inside area for opening doors.. And all our out-doors are twin, so plenty good insulating is easy and even soundproofing.
Good morning to you both! It's a joy and pleasure to great my day with your videos. ;) I really enjoy watching you work together as a couple and a team. The extra room went up quite fast and will be a nice addition to the house. It's looking really nice. The weather is changing quite fast and the new addition will be a blessing. That's a nice stack of firewood you have started there. The wood shed was a nice addition to your property. Thanks for taking the time to make another video. Enjoy your upcoming weekend. 🙏 ❤
Hello from Australia. very nice videos. Girlfriend found your channel, I subscribed. We are beginners, hunt/trap feral cats. I shoot them long range, she kills the trapped ones. Cheers.
That turned out great! This winter you guys will definitely be ready with all your hard prep this summer!! Very nice! Snow is right around the corner for you guys while we still suffer int he 100's but that is soon to end for us thank goodness!
I just started watching you both on this channel. You are a great team. Good job in spraying foam around the rim joists. I live in the Eagle Subdivision (west of Tok, AK), and I have seen you in town. Next time I see you, I'll have to say hi! Nice videos!
Nice job on the Arctic room. That should make a big difference in controlling the heat loss when the door to the utility room is opened. Look forward to seeing the completion of it.
When did you retire from USCG? I retired out of Juneau in 1985. Lived out in Mendenhall Valley. Really enjoyed my time up there. Enjoyed watching you go fishing with your buddy who lives on the island. Keep up the good work with your homestead and I do hope you get your moose before the eason is over. Sure miss Alaska but Arizona called our name.
I just love how nicely you speak to each other with “please” and “thank you” and “ you’re welcome.” You constantly compliment each others efforts.
😊 thank you 🙏
Ryan, your commitment to get everything done with that spray insulation was incredible. I just said to hubby I don’t know how you let this stuff roll off you with all the driving back and forth. Thanks for being such a great example to us all.
I appreciate that. Thank you

Nice job guys. I must say my two favorite parts was Ryan putting on his space suit and Von saying “drop it on my head”. Please no more dropping stuff on Von’s head😂 Take care guys.
Lol 😂 Yeah that suit was pretty darn funny looking 😂
I don’t know why but I love watching folks cut and put up wood. I know it’s hard work but there’s something peaceful about stacking wood . There’s an artistic look about the final product! Hope to see more wood cutting and stacking!
It is very satisfying and yes, hard work too 😉 We always have wood chores to do around here, so I’m sure they’ll be plenty.
I found this video in my feed this morning. Have subscribed and will be binge watching from oldest to newest videos to catch up. I'm 68 and can no longer do the heavy work I used to do, but I'm looking forward to vicariously enjoying your Alaskan adventure!
Welcome aboard!😊 Thank you for the sub. Hope you enjoy our journey.
That Arctic entry will be appreciated throughout the year. It will help keep the indoor temp more constant, and help keep the mud and dirt outside. Good job!
Yes, we’re so happy about it ❤️ Thank you!
That insulation around your foundation is going to help you a lot. The little addition is going to make a big difference in the winter, with the wind not blowing in the house when you open the door. Love you guys 😘.
We hope so! ❤️
I enjoy your videos but you two is what I love the best. I look forward to watching you each week.
Yay! Thank you! Love it! ❤️
Very nice entry. I would suggest three things...a window in the last wall you put up, just for some natural light. A bench on the first wall you put up, with hooks above it for clothes. Great idea! We have plans to put a window in but didn’t have the window yet. The motion light is a good idea we did t think of. Thank you 😊
I like the little Arctic door. Vaughn looks like she was going into an igloo.
😂 🤣😂
I had to chuckle at the basement footage...Amusing watching an albino alien Lizard man. Some more great "Winter prep" getting the house ready. Nice job Ryan & Von.
Thanks Bear! Von was cracking up at my outfit 😂
Great job, you will be glad you put in the Arctic Entry ! I Don't understand other RUclipsrs who build in cold climates that don't do an Arctic Entry ! Cold weather goes straight into their house when entering front door !
It’s been amazing. We have some upgrades to do then it’ll be good.
Morning coffee while watching all your progress , thanks for sharing Ryan and Von ☕.
Our pleasure! Thank you 🙏
I agree….feeling a little guilty while I enjoy my coffee watching them work 😁.
So much fun watching you two. Alaska living is all about racing the weather. You are winning! Be careful, stay safe, and have lots of fun!
Thank you! Will do! ❤️
Wow, glad to see 21k subscribers!!!! I started to watching when you were less than 1.5k! Well done and congratulations.
Thank you so much!! It’s awesome people like you that have helped us with our channel! ❤️🙏

I’m with you…. Ryan needs to keep that suit for Halloween! 👻 😂
You've got to be warmer spraying under Neath . By the way nice warm mud room! It's a great size!

My husband and I agree... sexiest Halloween costume we've seen so far. And we need to do a similar treatment to our basement.

Yes, I vote for a window or two in the arctic room. You 2 definitely have great skills creating a homestead! Thx for sharing your experience!

ya I would put in the insulation and sheet the inside also the build-like bench you sit and the boot off and the other artic gear but it looks great
As always you and your wife do a GREAT job on your house.
Thank you! ❤️
Good work!
Side it? It already has Alaskan siding (Tyvek) and since it's white you don't need to paint it. 😁
Lol!!! 😂 So true!
Great work. Will be worth all hard work
Absolutely!
Looks beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice job.
I would have put a window on one of the wall, it could use it,espicially in the summer time to air it out, you could get mold.
That’s the plan ❤️
Great video. Love you guys❤
Good job ❤
