  • In this episode we will be introducing you to the channel 60 second docs, which has short (60-second) documentaries on a wide range of subjects, which might be interesting for your students, and / or relevant for the coursebook unit you are working on.
The video we have chosen stars Batman :) We start off with a screenshot and get you to predict what the documentary is about, just as we would with students. Then we talk about students creating their own short documentaries and we finish off with a bit of media literacy, taking a good critical look at the title.

I've been using '60 second docs' for some weeks now, and love them. I recently did the topic of FOOD, and so we watched two great food-related docs ( the Nowegian Fruitarian brothers and the 11 year old vegan chef) These topics were covered in the textbook we're using, but the clips really brought the topic to life, and made them more relevant. I've found they can even be used with lower levels.
