Skinning a wolf at the skinning bench is worth 80xp, but doing it with the knife outside is worth 750xp. if you need the resources, use the bench, if you need the xp, skin them manually.
Makes sence to me
You can put several dead animals in the skinning bench and they wont spoil and then you can skin several at the same time.
Cave = XP farm by killing worms….think about it….

First; Get the Dehumidifier for the cave, it keeps you from getting cave lung AND it STOPS the cave worms from spawning, the best part is it runs on Charcoal !!!!!!! Next get the bio-fuel Drill for the deep ore mining spots. All the caves have one in the cave someplace. Also there a re a few that are outside on the ground and will become a valuable recourse supplier, so obviously get the bio-fuel maker and make 8-10 bio-fuel cans as you'll be able to rotate them out on the drills to keep them going. I have a private server and have spent a bunch of time on the same map you're on. There are 8 - 10 more caves on this map other than the ones you've already found. Only 3 I think don't have deep mine ore spots in them,. There is a outdoor deep mine ore pocket on the opposite side of the lake you built on for Copper, you'll need that I build stone buildings around them to protect from wildlife and to have a place to shelter when needed. Make a grip of bullets (I keep like 200 in my inventory all the time) and shoot the cave worms, they're all one-shot. work on making 5-6 setups for the caves and deep mining ore ( 1 Dehumidifier 1 Bio-fuel Drill 1 storage for Charcoal and ore storage 2 cans of Bio-fuel so you can swiftly change them out) . Build the deep mine ore locater and the Cave locater in the tier 3 tree they work really good. Also get the oxygen tank asap as it will last 6-7 times as long as the leather version. Also the thermos as it gives a big buff for the Desert and last a long time before running out. Also you can ghet 2 meat buffs one from the high-grade meat and one from the normal at the same time. Berrys combined with Watermelons in the food bench make a really good fruit buff. I'm capped on mine now and have everything available in the game. I've learned that when travelling to the cold or Desert ALWAYS bring a STONE BUILDING. Great Vids as usual!!

He doesnt understand why leather armor, fur armor, and heavy leather amor requires platinum weave, is what he said & meant. I know we live among space tech but these are animal hide tech no metals required... Its probably fur for warmth backed by plat weave for strength... but still...
Hey Z, the cave isn't broken. What happens is whenever you leave the cave the worms come a hole before. Say a cave has 5 worms, you kill 2 and get out of cave without going in, next time you enters you will find that the worms have respawned in that hole, but the total spawns isn't 5 anymore its 3. So if you kill both only 1 remains. It's an amazing way to kill all worms without venturing deep inside the cave. I guess the worms don't respawn for a day or 2.🥂🙋🏻♂️
They are respawning while he is in the cave mining. It thinks he left the cave and came back even though he didn't
This would be the case only he has a cave base built so it messing with the system.
Started playing after watching this series. Put too much time in and got waaaaay far ahead of the series so I've been waiting to see what you do next. Also glad to see you found the other talents! Combat is really all you're gonna be interested in tho. Also be cautious, you no longer earn talent points after level 50 so you can't get everything. And the tech tree IS completely backwards. You do need tier 4 to unlock any electricity generation as far as I've discovered (the lights aren't all that great either minus the flickering)
If your skinning bench is not full, you can store whole animals in the inventory instead of leaving them on the floor and then process them at your leisure.
Z1. i noticed you have an iron knife. This negates the skinning bench as you will receive more resources just skinning with an iron knife or better & you also get a lot more exp actually skinning mobs compared to the skinning bench itself. - Also open world try to weave in some of the easier missions from the board as it can net your some nice items like steel weapons/tools, all sorts of random materials as well. - Cured leather imo is slightly superior to hunter armor. Its slightly cheaper to make - has slightly more physical resistance as well as cold resistance for when you hit up a snow biome. - the stam & health regen will also help with general travel & gathering. - You using a bolt action rifle. Should be able to kill most things pretty easily that perceived threat should not be an issue.
There was a comment on an earlier video of Z that he should craft and place a dehumidifier in the cave as it will stop worms from spawning.

I really enjoy the content, and this series. I just don’t understand how you get pneumonia while in a EVA suit.
You reset your TALENTS not your tech tree.
You can avoid the pneumonia by just running outside every 2 to 3 minutes for a few seconds, and the cave thing is because at some point at the back it's no longer marked as a cave. There are several "incomplete" caves like this. Some of them being extremely lucrative, others being completely incomplete lol. And save your titanium ore (it's your end game metal) nodes for later. With the alteration bench you can craft an attachment to increase yields.
or getting a helmet attachment for -50% chance to getting pneumonia.

I tried Icarus on my laptop, unfortunately my laptop could only run it on not enjoyable settings. So I refunded the game. Still though I love this game.
the problem with building your base in a cave is that you don't get a lot of room. So you might want to build a larger outer yard with stone structures using the resources from your old base for your less valuable items and equipment
If you kill the first worms then 'leave' the cave, the worms at the back move forward.
Needs like 50 cured leather at most. Proceeds to make 700 😑

You get more exp from skinning the wolves with a knife than with the bench and you should look into getting the exotic environment suits so you can have a food and water slot in your suit

There are not enough points for all the talents, i would want all the things and henceforth need all the points! the levels you unlock some stuff is weird... did they check where they put stuff? I wonder if there are options to boost points or add levels or if not maybe mods?
You may want to check on the durability of the defensive walls outside of your base. I noticed that they were taking damage when the animals were running into them
idk if you actually read these comments, but just so you know that if you move an animal after you kill it. that lowers the chances of other creatures coming to eat it

Polarbear armour is the best furr amour ever if you use heavy armour it will reduce your speed and jump even has speed bonus etc but it's pretty bad tho and heavy

Z you should do more missions. Some give you tools and armor.
If you really want to level faster, theres an infinite Komodo spawn in the First Styx Mission (Prospect)
You can dip in and out of Open World without losing the OW, so you can do the Original (and new) missions
But this mission you dont do it to complete it, you do it for the Infinite Komodo spawn, which although its the mission map isnt far from where you started in OW, it is one of the marked points for the mission, best done with a knife or spear because staying at range is almost impossible due to infinite spwn, so just run around stabbing them and youll level up in no time
Its a little cheaty, but depends how bad you wanna level
Or just find the Artic Wolf spawns and work those, remember to leave at least one corpse down to generate more spawn

Z you need to craft water wheels to generate electricity.
Z1 can you please empty out the spoiled meat in the 6th slot
On the right hand side at the top you have a tab for "Solo", to get more choices.
And this is why it's not always the best idea to run ahead through a tech tree. Things become exceedingly expensive and generally require a whole lot more set-up to become remotely feasible.
It's considered difficult for a good reason.
Will Z return to this since there is still so much more to do?
you need to expand your base outward making more room inside for equipment and workstations while still letting you walk around.
return to your old base and break it down to reuse the materials you already have.
place standing torches in the caves for static light sources and return to the underwater cave to clean it out of minable resources.
if necessary, call in Mrs. Z and the crew for serious resource grinding and large scale construction.
clear away all the burned trees and collect the charcoal for gunpowder.
build foundations to level your courtyard to make good space for those outdoor items and equipment unaffected by weather.
Hes exspnding upwards but ya makes more sence just to build a whole base rather then useing the cave.
This run my biggest issue is the fact I'm really low on Copper. Have not found a Copper Vein and on styx I can't find the underwater cave in the lake for the life of me.
You should look at the mission board a lot more, Those rewards might be useful.. *Hint* *Hint*

4:43 The Biofuel Extractor is under the Biofuel Radar. You find a spot that has Biofuel of somesort and you find it with Biofuel Radar and pump it with Biofuel Exractor.
Btw look for a Waterweel of somesort, some of the thing that you have can be speed up like Masonry Bench.
Just keep killing the worms and get the xp, they are easy to kill and it’s not like there is a ton of them!
Use the cave respawning them over and over as an experience grinder

It takes platnum cuse it literly called platnum armor makes logicel sence and also makes realistic sence if it has platnum in the name chunces are it has platnum in it to call it that.
