This reminds me of powergrid where there is an industrial theme that is less likely to attract people with the premise or art but has shockingly satisfying gameplay you get very immersed in.

      that's a very appropriate parallel i'd say!

I'm so excited you covered this! I bought it on a total whim after a recommendation in a solo group, and because i really liked Red Cathedral.

It tells me a lot about this game when Rahdo and Heavy Cardboard do a playthrough. If Rahdo is playing that heavy of a game, you’d better pay attention. Thanks for your content Rahdo.

At around the 8:00 mark you were talking about acquiring a research card. I notice you have already activated it and taken its benefit without actually placing a worker on it. Apologies if you rectify this later in the video.

He did it by placing a worker on the card with the discount for doing the Research action

At 5:05, you shouldn't move the business development track 2 spaces forward. The card you placed is an extra worker placement spot, and putting a worker there moves the marker forward 2 spaces.

It is harder to follow this format compared to the classic Rahdo (too zoomed out; just my opinion). looks like you need an overhead camera that you can switch to when talking about the objective card area.

sorry it doesn't work for you, but if i'd kept filming that way, i'd have retired years ago because it's MUCH harder and i was getting very burned out :)

With money so tight, maybe the focus early in the game should be selling to the market for straight cash rather than fulfilling contracts which sacrifice cash for end game VPs?

when i played with my wife, she went heavy into easily finishable contracts from the start and made that work :)

At 43:00 mark you look to sell the geothermal for $7 (less $1 for using the copy cation slot). The $6 profit needs to be offset against the $6 (or lose 6VP) you need to spend to repair the damage to your processing plant ( unless of course you have a card that gives you $3 discount to a double repair action ……. which you need to use multiple times to justify the $5 card acquisition cost!). Am I missing something here or do you really have to think that deep to work out whether an action is actually beneficial in the long term? I think I need to go and relax with a Lacerda game after this🙄

hehe, it's paramount at i make good use of that $5 card, using it's power 2 or 3 times at least to cut my future production costs in half, to come out ahead :)
