- This was the first PS2 football game (I think!) I remember seeing this being played in a computer shop way back in 2000 and thought it looked amazing, how times change!

This game was incredible! I got this on launch with my ps2 and put so many hours into it with my friends.
What's really strange is that many of the teams were fully licensed, and almost every team had their real kit. It was a PAL/Asia exclusive release so maybe Konami held the licenses for those regions, but still, FIFA held a monopoly on licensing after this game was released.
wow, what a footie game that almost nobody remembers thanks to being overshadowed by PES series. To be honest i love both Konami's PS2 footie franchises.

@@jambakalsente2295 No, actually one franchise (ISS) was developed by Konami Osaka, who also developed the SNES and N64 games, while the other franchise (Pro Evo) was developed by Konami Tokyo

@@jambakalsente2295 Sort of. International Superstar Soccer games existed before PES. PES was essentially a re-brand but the original ISS focused exclusively on national teams.
What you have to realise is use of the dash in conjunction with the left stick gave you amazing levels of movement..you had to master this to really make the code sing.
Remember this being a bit ropey to be honest. I was relieved when the PES1 was released.

The guys that made ISS Pro Evo split thats why you had 2 different games after 2000s. ISS and PES. But i still think the ISS:Pro Evo 2 is the best footie game.

That menu, music theme, and layout are extremely early 2000s as fuck.
Having played this game again last year, I found it rather amusing that Frank Lampard is portrayed as being black :D

Friggin awesome game,still holds up well and as deep as the sea..good lessons haven't been learned by Konami!!!..never realised there was a eu version..had the import and caned the n64 versions!!!
does this game have club teams? or national only?
Muchas cosas de este juego deberían de seguir en los recientes, como la repetición, aquí se hace con dos repeticiones instantáneas, en los de hoy sólo una rápido, pausas cinemáticas como que el portero acomode su barrera están de lujo, que las sustituciones del rival puedan verse, este es un juego genial

Im getting a lot of messages asking me how to download this game. Sorry but I don't know how to! this is recorded from my ps2 onto my dvd recorder. If you really want to play the game I would suggest you get a 2nd hand ps2 for £20 and buy the games of amazon most of which are only 1p!

ISS Pro Evo was way better at the time, this seemed to play more like Fifa. Was ok though.
Having recently re-played late 90s FIFA and this, yeah I know what you mean. Mid-2000s PES and 2008-2012 FIFA were the best IMO.
