  • On this episode of the Trueface podcast, Robby is with Jamie Winship. Jamie Winship has decades of experience bringing peaceful solutions to areas of the world that experience the highest levels of conflict.
After a distinguished career in law enforcement in the metro Washington DC area, Jamie had a unique opportunity to bring his identity-centric approach of transformation to the field of education. This is fascinating!! So exciting!! This is what I’m desperately seeking - this unique identity. “Untie-et of knots/ militant peacemaker”. This is what I need to know Jamie, Robby. I need to know this. I’m 58 yr old bloke in 🇬🇧. Been spirit filled believer since ‘93. Love Jesus, love Holy Spirit, love God. But what am I doing?! Just failed probation (4 mnths ) on latest job (career) that I thought was the right path. What now? I want to be in that right place, knowing who I (uniquely) am therefore in the right place to work for/with God in this world for now.
People need to know this, too.
How can I be involved? This soooo excites me.

It's interesting we ask how did you learn to hear his voice in the early reps; a great and needed question, however we forget we actually heard that same voice when we said yes to the salvation of Jesus! It was not the voice of man convincing us that Jesus was the way. It was His voice beckoning you and making a way through that person or thing. We so easily forget that and don't give ourselves credit for hearing Holy Spirit and responding in that critical moment!

Well, for me, I didn’t hear a voice as Jamie is referencing, God just snatched me out of death’s hands. However, to your point, Father God speaks to His children more often than we realize, the question is do we recognize His voice. He has many ways of communicating with us. What Jamie is referring to isn’t that! Jamie is speaking of dialoguing with Father, regarding or pertaining to certain situations when you truly need to hear from Him on the matter. While the Bible tells us to take every thought captive to Messiah, I don’t think that necessarily means asking God if you should wash your car today; although it’s okay to do so but certainly not necessary. In your challenging situations, ask God, then listen!

The concept of hearing from God was first made concrete for me through "Experiencing God" by Blackaby ... and yet, not being in my true identity, I wasn't able to build on that and mature ....

Whats a professional Christian versus a non professional Christian? I'm just curious.

    • @Trueface

Hey! When we say 'professional Christian' versus a 'nonprofessional Christian', we mean a person who works in full-time vocational ministry, as opposed to a person who is a Christian but not for their full-time employment/work/source of income. Both are crucial and needed in the Body of Christ! I hope this helps explain more.
