Oh Hi! You caught me trying to leave a comment, speaking of comments 2 of my absolute favorite channels in one spot. Appreciate both of y'all (and Ed Piskor) Give em those marching orders Jimmy
After watching Jim and Ed interview all these legendary comics professionals on their channel, it's really awesome to have Jim on the other side so to speak. Looking forward to seeing where u grow the channel next Chris, this was a great interview. Octobriana looks amazing, only Jim knew how much the world needed a blacklight comic book. Can't wait!
You guys seem to be from about the same time in comics as I am. Very nostalgic for me. Thanks so much. Fantastic interview Chris! Let's see more please.
I really like it when you get in to the comics making process in this and your last video, Chris. Great stuff! Nice to see my 2 favourite comics channels team up too.
I must say Octobriana will not be the first blacklight comic book ever. A graphic novel by Spanish cartoonist Víctor Puchalski is, called "La Balada de Jolene Blackcountry", that can be translated as "The Ballad of Jolene Blackcountry", published by Autsaider Cómics. Octobriana has me incredibly hyped though!
Everyday should be N.C.B.D. or Saturdays mornings in the 80's!! Watching Kayfabe and Comic Tropes anytime and everyday, makes me feel like a kid all over. Need more tropes and I'll read more comics!!!
One of the best storylines I ever came up with started off as a wrestling story from Create a Storyline mode (or whatever it's called) in WWE 2k12. Being that I never became a wrestling booker, I decided to use it for comics.
Re Jim's wondering aloud about how film editors track dozens of versions of cuts, as a working editor, the answer is not a great one, "Very carefully." U just have to develop organizational schemes to track deep levels of changes. We editors also do storyboards like u, and frequently (sometimes radically) restructure stories as part of the process. Re: processing creative feedback, one skill I developed when getting notes ( whether from trusted individuals, brain trusts or anonymous focus groups) is to balance the more open, unsolicited or unexpected feedback (so u can catch what u didnt know) vs specifically requested feedback, to get notes on something in your field of vision that you're not sure about. Finally, there's the art of how to unpack the feedback itself. The notes u get can be more prescriptive than diagnostic, or vice versa. With the prescriptive stuff u, as creator (especially when tempted to dismiss the prescription from someone outside creative team) MUST reverse engineer the suggested prescription and ask yourself, "what's this note REALLY about?," like, "under the hood," so to speak, to get at - in your own way -the broad underlying problem the viewer was prescribing. And same with the diagnostic feedback... ask yourself, "how can I target this broader note in a tangible, concrete, specific way?" In other words, to formulate your own prescription from the broader diagnosis you were given. My two cents but I suspect all of this is applicable to comics making bc it's all storytelling! Good intv guys, enjoyed

My friend comics have commented on the outside world many times. Comics have been written about protests, terror attacks, and war. Please make a video about supporting protests. Thank you.

In weird, effed up times like these, yes, it's important for lines to be drawn and sides to be chosen. This video is a good thing.
Jim you bloody genius. A promotional tour where you tap into all these comics RUclips channels. There’s the audience right there!

I love this kind of content , but I think that it would be nice to do a litlle video introducing the guest before the interview starts....
KAYFABERS WAS CRACCIN ‼️
Slave Labor does not publish anything besides reprints of Jhonen's stuff now
You should review Major Grom
He did Afrodisiac ! I have that book right here on my shelf
I love the content of the video, but why did you have to talk over him most of the video?
Glad there were no Blacklight Comics while *I* was growing up...

If Chris Piers and Jim Rugg had a child, it would look like Louis CK.
