- Hi everyone! This is a new account where I'll be posting edits and things of my favourite fandoms. For my first video, I've made an edit of Aidan Gillen's character A.D. Janson from the Maze Runner series. This edit is only on Janson in The Scorch Trials so I may be uploading one only on The Death Cure movie soon.

Aiden Gillen is a good actor and honestly he made me root for the bad guys xD
I know right! He can play good guys and bad guys and seem like two completely different people

The reason I love these books and movies so much, is that no-one is right in this situation and everything is corrupt. The “good guys” aren’t actually good because a good person would never kill anyone, let alone hundreds of people (guards and others), even in an attempt to save themselves and others. Of course, on the inside, they are good people. Newt was the kindest person, always looked out for his friends as it they were family (that’s why I was very sad when he died and we all probably were), Thomas always wanted to save everyone and Minho is very underrated for his support. The “Bad guys” were also terrible people even when they where doing all of this for a vaccine that was meant to be for good. This is why I’m obsessing over this so much! The writer’s phenomenal description and the actors’ portrayal of the characters and the corrupt world that very well could someday be our reality.
Sorry for the long comment again, I just love this so much and this edit gave me a wholesome place where I could get these words out of my head because this amazingness was driving me insane because it’s so good and great to analyze lol!
@@imatiredpotato Absolutely! No need to apologise ahah - I'm glad you like the video and the comments are definitely my favourite part :D. Your comments about the morality of both sides and how it is corrupt and a struggle for both the 'good' and 'bad' guys is probably one of the most important themes in regards to the underlying messages within the story. The idea that to do what would be considered as 'the greater good' can sometimes mean a sacrifice of generally smaller but still important aspects of morality (i.e an individual person's life or wellbeing) is definitely a balancing game and people will align themselves on all positions of the spectrum. I suppose this whole situation is the textbook example of 'does the end justify the means'. Of course though there are some actions, particularly by WICKED and Janson that are purely fear/brutality tactics (like the firing on the civilians, shooting of Ava Paige how Janson did). But you're completely right - even though the Gladers did kill guards, soldiers etc., they are just trying to protect themselves and others, and shut down what is endangering them.
Also now it seems it's my turn to write some very long comments aha!

To be honest, I agree with you - it's been a while since I read the books, but yeah, I definitely love Aidan Gillen's portrayal!

Parts of this song actually goes with Janson if u really think about it.
Plus he had a lot of mystery to him, e.g. why he asked just Thomas about WCKD, how he became infected with the virus in the death cure etc.
Ahah yeah at first I didn't really think about any links [i just liked the song] but the more I heard the song with the clips I started to make the connections between them. I thought it would have been cool to see some of Janson's history and, like you said, how he got to where he was in both of the movies - but the mystery is just as good
Aidan Gillen gave us a character with Ideas that he wanted to accomplish (making the vaccine), and a person who does many bad things in the process such as being two faced towards the gladers and the others. Also, he bombed people, shot a kind woman (the one with the vaccine in the right arm) and open-fired on a crowd (missing lol). (Because he missed, he actually killed less people that Thomas and his friends did. They killed a lot of guards and other people.) Also, he betrayed Ava Paige because he wanted to finish the vaccine and wanted to use it for himself (selfish). Aidan Gillen portrayed this character amazingly well and I can’t help to love Jansons character because of this outstanding portrayal. He portrayed this character that is passionate about something, however because of his lack of morals, does many bad things in the process when people get in his way. There are many people like this on this world and Aidan Gillens amazing portrayal of this blows my mind. I wish Janson got more screen time because of this, but apart from that, amazing character.

@@imatiredpotato Ahahah but it was a very insightful comment too! I completely agree - Aidan Gillen's portrayal is definitely one of my favourite in the film and by him across his other roles as well. Also your comments about how he has passion and determination to get what he wants no matter what stands in his way are so interesting and important as well. I guess his increasing brutality is also thanks to the virus within him and thus, like you said, his desire to use the cure for himself. The creation of the cure as a whole, particularly in the way WICKED has done it is very much a balancing game between morals and the greater good of society - although you're right, Janson's seem to be lacking quite often aha.
And totally agree - more screen time for him would have been amazing!!

I have literally spent the whole day trying to edit and it is so hard! I don’t understand gow you can do this! This is not only amazing, it is also my favourite maze runner video! Mine turned out terrible but I’m still proud of itt because I could never do better than I already did lol! XD
Wow thank you so much for saying that it really means a lot and puts a smile on my face aha! To be completely honest, this took me so much time to make - someone with more skill and knowledge probably could have put this together in a few hours, maybe less. But I spent a crazy amount of time on it, so much so that I was completely sick of the song towards the end aha. It was definitely hard for me the first time I made an edit - it wasn't to the beat, trying to find the clips, making it go smoothly, and it was overall so fiddly to work with it - especially when iMovie would get really slow and glitchy. Those first few ones were nowhere near perfect, and this one is far off as well, but I know that you can do this! And I'm glad your proud of yours because you should be - it's something that you made and can look back on and say 'yeah, I did this'. Starting small is good - just trying to find a few clips to put together to a little bit of music. That's how I did it. And this is gonna sound corny and cringe or whatever, but practice makes better (not perfect, better), and I'm sure that the more you work on it, you'll learn new skills and ways to do things faster and better.

I made another edit yesterday and it turned out so much better than the previous one. It took me so much time though. It took me like 3 or 4 hours for a 46 second long edit, but it was worth it!

You where the reason I started editing and I wanted to say thank you as now as I’ve seen, I have 64,000 views on one of my videos and 260 or something subs. Heyo and don't worry you are not bothering me at all! I use iMovie to edit I'm fairly certain that's free on apple devices (I'm not sure if you can get it on windows or any other device) and technically I do get a copyright claim it's just that the video won't be monetised I think but that doesn't matter anyway because this is just for fun ahah. I don't pay for anything.
