Tati once mentioned she likes to use setting spray over her foundation before powders, so I've tried it. I didn't press it in, but Tati uses a blow dryer to "melt" it all together so I tried that AND OMG it does make a big difference and prevent my foundation from splitting and coming off during work. I do this always now, it's a big game changer for me!

As an older woman with mature skin, I use Chanel's Sublimage foundation. It creates a flawless dewy finish, BUT it doesn't last all day. It is also very sheer and not great for building up. However, using the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Setting makes my foundation LAST ALL DAY. One tip I tried just to see if it worked is to apply one pump of foundation, then lightly spray with setting spray, allow to dry, apply another sheer layer of foundation, and proceed with remainder of makeup. Finally apply setting spray again. Makeup looked beautiful, but not heavy. The CT setting spray "airbrushed" it and it was soooo lasting.
a fragrance-free recommendation for folks who prefer no scent: maybelline’s fit me matte + poreless instant matte setting spray!! hong kong’s summers are ridiculously hot and humid (and we’re still wearing masks!), and i have very oily skin, but it kept my makeup in place for a full day in the 35c degree heat, didn’t break me out or cause irritation either!

Love the All Nighter spray. I used to think it was the makeup I was buying. Nope, was the junk setting spray I was setting it with! I bought the All Nighter and it was the game changer. I’ve never tried another since then. It works so well. I stock up when I find one at a good price. Do not want to run out!

i have always used the Mac Fix Plus to wet my brush before putting on shimmer eyeshadows to make them metallic like! It works so well and keeps my eyeshadow in place.

The Benefit Porefessional Super Setter, deserves a higher spot 🫢😅 as someone that worked in Sephora (Canada) for almost 4 years, the ONLY setting spray I’ve used that actually held up against the covid mask mandates, is the Benefit one!! It doesn’t separate my makeup, and actually holds my makeup in place! I HATED the Urban Decay ones.. even years ago when they were more popular! Even without masks being considered in that, it’s not a great product anymore compared to the amazing options out there! The mist is not good on those, it ruins makeup with specks, and didn’t actually stop fading and transfer for me (but I know it does for some people!) The benefit one is AMAZING!!! The mist is SO light and fine, and you can actually coat yourself in it without ruining any of your makeup ❤
My #1 was the #1! Woohoo!! Also In the future, I thought maybe you could do skincare products… but that is also so unique to each person. But can you imagine? Going through face wash, serums, moisturizers, etc. maybe you could just do one episode of people’s favorite skincare products in general according to skin type? I don’t know. I have the Milani Jumbo Make it last, but I break the bottle and put it in the Pretty Fresh mister. Apparently I have been doing some things good. I want to repurchase the Pretty Fresh though, summers are incredibly dry here on the andean mountains!

@@mimiealoyah2084 Elf is definitely cheaper and I really liked it but the CT mist is much finer. The smell is very pleasant and it doesn't leave a sticky residue. I feel the fine mist sprays evenly across my skin.

I’ve recently been loving the PYT setting spray for a clean beauty option. Feels refreshing and locks it in more than the milk one for me (though I love the milk hydrogrip primer)

My all time favorite setting spray I use once my moisturizer is set or even almost set, is the Milani Make It Last Original 16 HR wear. This is for sure way better than any other primer. I truly grips onto my skin with any skin tint or heavier foundations.

The Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray is my ultimate favorite. I have the Charlotte Tilbury setting spray but it doesn't make my makeup last. I know so many people live it but not me. Normally I use MAC fix+ first then after it dries I spray the All Nighter and everything is set. I have dry combo (mature skin) so maybe that's why Charlotte Tilburys spray didn't work on me. I love this series Allie, you are an amazing woman. Looking forward to watching you use all the #1 products in one video. Please don't edit it, could you do it as an unedited video? I use the urban decay all night or on my wedding day and it was absolutely amazing it was 95° with about 80% humidity and my make up stayed perfect until I took it off to go to bed. that was in 2018 nothing compares to the one size setting spray that holds everything makes your make up look flawless and you can even swim with it

I agreed with #1. I don’t care for the smell but it’s the best one I tried, ever! Makes my dewy foundation stay on my skin all day. I definitely knew the CT and UD were going to take first and second place I also like the NYX dewy. The Milani one is not at an ‘affordable’ price in the uk. Although I haven’t tried it because of the price I would’ve thought the Hourglass one might have been there too
Bought my first setting spray because of I was doing my own wedding makeup, The Urban Decay All nighter and my makeup stayed perfect, only had to fix my lipstick once in 13 hours

I don't know why I like the urbana decay setting spray but I don't love it! I think it's my skin type that doesn't help it fix the makeup in place all day... but I found a drugstore alternative that works just as good that wasn't on the list and makes my makeup last longer from nyx. I got a sample of it with a nyx product I bought and never looked back!
I got the Urban Decay's All Nighter Setting Spray a few months back after hearing great reviews about it. However, I'm not a fan of it as it keeps spitting chunks at me and takes longer to dry into my skin 😒. Maybe I got a faulty one but its one I wouldn't purchase again because of this.
@@christinas4 the one i fell in love with was the matte finish setting spray... but I recently tried the dewy version and it practically the same but dewy. It gives a natural glowy finish that I don't get with other setting sprays. Either one are a good choice!
Elf Setting Spray tip: At first the spray is a fine mist but then it tends to spritz out and that's because the nozzle gets a little clogged. Run that under hot water, clean it off and wallah, works like new.
Kinda surprised that Mac Fix+ is on this list considering it’s not technically a setting spray but more of a finishing spray. But hey, I love it too ❤️ but I generally use a setting spray over top of it. Unless I’m only going to be wearing makeup for a couple of hours then I would use it alone 🤷🏻♀️
@@dilara6499 a setting spray does just that. It’s sets the makeup and prolongs the wear. A finishing spray generally doesn’t have alcohol in it (which is what “sets” the makeup) so it doesn’t work well to extend the makeup wear time. It acts like a refresher and kicks off the powdery look. You can also use a finishing spray multiple times throughout the day where it’s not advised to use a setting spray multiple times because of the high alcohol content

It gives life back to my face and the payoff of a good one can be seen and felt when you're exhausted at the end of a bad day and peek in the mirror to see that your look is still as gorgeous when you put it on~ I was one of the people who voted for the Milani one (I personally love the Mac one more but my wallet disagrees XD)

Love the All Nighter spray. I used to think it was the makeup I was buying. Nope, was the junk setting spray I was setting it with! I bought the All Nighter and it was the game changer. I’ve never tried another since then. It works so well. I stock up when I find one at a good price. Do not want to run out!

i have always used the Mac Fix Plus to wet my brush before putting on shimmer eyeshadows to make them metallic like! It works so well and keeps my eyeshadow in place.

The Benefit Porefessional Super Setter, deserves a higher spot 🫢😅 as someone that worked in Sephora (Canada) for almost 4 years, the ONLY setting spray I’ve used that actually held up against the covid mask mandates, is the Benefit one!! It doesn’t separate my makeup, and actually holds my makeup in place!
I HATED the Urban Decay ones.. even years ago when they were more popular! Even without masks being considered in that, it’s not a great product anymore compared to the amazing options out there! The mist is not good on those, it ruins makeup with specks, and didn’t actually stop fading and transfer for me (but I know it does for some people!)
The benefit one is AMAZING!!! The mist is SO light and fine, and you can actually coat yourself in it without ruining any of your makeup ❤
My #1 was the #1! Woohoo!! Also In the future, I thought maybe you could do skincare products… but that is also so unique to each person. But can you imagine? Going through face wash, serums, moisturizers, etc. maybe you could just do one episode of people’s favorite skincare products in general according to skin type? I don’t know. @@mimiealoyah2084 Elf is definitely cheaper and I really liked it but the CT mist is much finer. The smell is very pleasant and it doesn't leave a sticky residue. I feel the fine mist sprays evenly across my skin.

I’ve recently been loving the PYT setting spray for a clean beauty option. Feels refreshing and locks it in more than the milk one for me (though I love the milk hydrogrip primer)

My all time favorite setting spray I use once my moisturizer is set or even almost set, is the Milani Make It Last Original 16 HR wear. This is for sure way better than any other primer. I truly grips onto my skin with any skin tint or heavier foundations.

Not a great birthdate because you're not in school to celebrate when you're little and as an adult it's easy for others to forget after being so busy before and during Christmas Day. The Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray is my ultimate favorite. I have the Charlotte Tilbury setting spray but it doesn't make my makeup last. I know so many people live it but not me. Normally I use MAC fix+ first then after it dries I spray the All Nighter and everything is set. I have dry combo (mature skin) so maybe that's why Charlotte Tilburys spray didn't work on me. I love this series Allie, you are an amazing woman. Looking forward to watching you use all the #1 products in one video. Please don't edit it, could you do it as an unedited video? That would really be amazing if you could do that. Take care. If you still have a month left your baby girl will be growing all month. I use the urban decay all night or on my wedding day and it was absolutely amazing it was 95° with about 80% humidity and my make up stayed perfect until I took it off to go to bed. that was in 2018 nothing compares to the one size setting spray that holds everything makes your make up look flawless and you can even swim with it
the elf one is actually great. as good if not better then high end.

I agreed with #1. I don’t care for the smell but it’s the best one I tried, ever! Makes my dewy foundation stay on my skin all day. I don't know why I like the urbana decay setting spray but I don't love it! I think it's my skin type that doesn't help it fix the makeup in place all day... but I found a drugstore alternative that works just as good that wasn't on the list and makes my makeup last longer from nyx. I got a sample of it with a nyx product I bought and never looked back!

I got the Urban Decay's All Nighter Setting Spray a few months back after hearing great reviews about it. However, I'm not a fan of it as it keeps spitting chunks at me and takes longer to dry into my skin 😒. Maybe I got a faulty one but its one I wouldn't purchase again because of this.
@@christinas4 the one i fell in love with was the matte finish setting spray... but I recently tried the dewy version and it practically the same but dewy. It gives a natural glowy finish that I don't get with other setting sprays. Either one are a good choice!
I love the all nighter so much, i have the normal size product and the travel size so I can keep it in my purse.
Elf Setting Spray tip: At first the spray is a fine mist but then it tends to spritz out and that's because the nozzle gets a little clogged. Run that under hot water, clean it off and wallah, works like new.
Kinda surprised that Mac Fix+ is on this list considering it’s not technically a setting spray but more of a finishing spray. But hey, I love it too ❤️ but I generally use a setting spray over top of it. Unless I’m only going to be wearing makeup for a couple of hours then I would use it alone 🤷🏻♀️
What is the difference between both?
@@dilara6499 a setting spray does just that. It’s sets the makeup and prolongs the wear. A finishing spray generally doesn’t have alcohol in it (which is what “sets” the makeup) so it doesn’t work well to extend the makeup wear time. It acts like a refresher and kicks off the powdery look. You can also use a finishing spray multiple times throughout the day where it’s not advised to use a setting spray multiple times because of the high alcohol content

Totally agree that setting spray such an underrated step in makeup! It gives life back to my face and the payoff of a good one can be seen and felt when you're exhausted at the end of a bad day and peek in the mirror to see that your look is still as gorgeous when you put it on~ I was one of the people who voted for the Milani one (I personally love the Mac one more but my wallet disagrees XD)
