Hi ! Nice to see you in my region :) To add some more details : 3:17 the exit leads towards on the right a narrow road full of tiny tunnels (height) following the river "Seine" in Rouen city centre as express roads in Paris until the last years Could be nice to make a video because you feel a minivan car roof could hit the top it's very impressive 3:33 Mathilde Bridge (1970s) was damaged by fuel inflammation carried by a truck having an accident in 2012 (partial rebuild until 2014 : hell of a mess to drive through Rouen...) 3:46 you can see Rouen cathedral on the right foreground (151m high = the tallest building in the world between 1876 and 1880) compared to the tower for the "department" or french subregion records (on the left, 89m high) 7:29 So called "cows roundabout" by locals as with cows statues in the past (sadly burnt during "Gilles jaunes" events in 2019) 7:53 the highway above = south Rouen Bypass is supposed to continue on the left to reach incomming Rouen East Bypass, crossing "Seine" River 9:39 Exit towards commercial center (maybe the biggest of Rouen area) is often busy you have to be carrefull : especially in the opposite way (Paris-Rouen) I.g. Rouen is a very spread city so avoid car to reach the center Critair sticker is effective since 2021 so old diesel cars are also forbidden in week days www.metropole-rouen-normandie.fr/zone-faibles-emissions-mobilite Some ressources about the big view for planned East highway bypass en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_contournement_de_Paris And for the bypass itself www.rouen-contournement-est.fr/caracteristiques-du-projet/ At the begining and the end of the video you are close to the future intersections of this bypass
The northern part of the bypass is relatively ok, but the southern one is definetely substandard, with traffic lights and roundabouts. Visited Rouen a few years ago, very beautiful city, but didn't drove on this eastern bypass road. Thanks for sharing it!
Hi brilliant footage Don’t no if you could advise me regarding best route through Rouen. I’m going to Yelloh! Village Camping Le Pin Parasol having to head to la mans I will be towing large twin axle caravan. Google maps showing a route but looking like lots of turns etc. Video y.have uploaded seem like more straightforward and don’t think it’s much further miles. Any advice would be appreciated thanks. Keep your videos coming very helpful 👍
The route in the video is the preferred route for through traffic (transit traffic), both towards Paris and Le Mans. If you continue straight at the bridge over the Seine, there is a slightly shorter route, but that requires more urban driving.
Thanks for your reply much appreciated, think the route on your video is D18E looks more straight forward. But Google maps showing also D938 don’t no if this would be best for towing a caravan. Don’t no if you no this route? Thank you 👍
@@daydreamer3316 I believe the Route des Estuaires takes A29 around Rouen, via the Pont de Normandie. The reason why Bordeaux is indicated is due to the gap in A28 at Rouen. You have to take A13 towards Caen for a little bit until you reach A28.
If you come from Amiens, which is basically coming from Germany and Belgium, and you are driving to Caen, this short 15 minutes drive through Rouen will save you a lot of péage instead of using the A29 and Pont de Normandie. And the kilometers are the same. 9,30 Euro instead of 19 Euro.
The city of Rouen has a little less people than the city of Jaén (Spain) (Jaén has 113,000), but it's like the Metropolitan Area of Granada, in Spain, if we speak about its metropolitan area's population. And the city of Granada has double or more than double the population of the city of Jaén (230,000 to 250,000 people live in the city of Granada, I guess)
The city of Rouen itself is the urban bulk of the metro (city centre and commercial areas). Many suburbs are as urban as Rouen and have their own city centre, creating a very big urban area
Huhu ! tu n'es pas passé loin de chez moi ;) sortie 21 sur l'A13 ;) C'est rigolo de voir les routes que l'on connait du point de vue de quelqu'un d'autre !! oui !! c'est chez moi tout ça !! :)
Having a "Boulevard Lénine" is pretty topical, since you are driving in some of the historical strongholds of the French Communist Party - they still have communist mayors elected locally!

the best city in the world for me, i live now in Paris but i would kill to come back to Rouen and work there. so much nostalgia
Good video, it's fantastic to read your commentaries, it makes it even better. Thanks for sharing!
There is still a "rue Staline" at Essomes sur Marne (02)

8:30 Bordeaux suivre Caen... thank God they warn people about this, because it's very counter-intuitive!
It's because Rouen is a part of the "route des estuaires" a road itinerary which connects Seine, Loire and Garonne estuaries and ends up in Bordeaux 😉

@@EuropeanRoads ok thanks for the further informations
It probably predates the opening of A28 between A13 and Alençon.
2 years ago I drove A151, A150, N1338, N338 and N138 which is not a bad route, except for the N1338 on the south bank of the Seine.
Can confirm. Me I have to (painstackingly) take the N27 with the bridge that took 10 years old to be opened. What a pain it was to wait.

Nice video
J'aime Rouen ma ville de Cœur ❤️
Наслаждаюсь дорогой с вами вместе из Росии
Thanks :)
I love Europe 🇪🇺
A little bit Deja Vu, from last Summer. 😅
The weather isn't the same than in southern Spain (fortunately ^^)
huhu ah ça .... ^^
Plus très loin de la maison 🏡…😋😋
¿Superas los límites en ocasiones?
Do you need to obtain a Crit’air sticker is for Rouen? Not sure if anyone knows..
Yes, it's better to obtain a Crit'air sticker.
What would Flaubert make of this?
