The stones at Culloden are positioned where the clan members fell.

Such sad history… we wanted to visit the museum to get more of the history, but it was already closed by the time we arrived In Inverness. Glad we were able to do the walk and see the memorial stones.

It's a pity you didn't do more research before coming to Scotland as you seem to cover qlot of replicas rather than the real thing (tourist type thing) 😉 although I realise you were tourists you've missed so many hidden gems which you would of loved. If you ever come back I suggest the Isle of raasay.. its home to raasay house which housed bonnie Prince Charlie when he fled the battle of culloden. Its a tiny wee island but it also houses some of the best ruins dating back to the 16th century and before... there are the most amazing ruins of entire villages each still up to 6 feet high. You get the true authentic version of Scotland and its history, I like to call it the land that time forgot. When I lived there I did not drive I got round by horse and kart... I used to give a man in his late 80s drives to his fishing point where we would share a dram and he'd reveal to me the most interesting stories of the past. At the end of a long day I'd drive him back slowly letting the horse cool off where we would cook his catch and carry on the tales of the past...
There are many places in the Highlands like this each having their own stories to tell.
Good video and I'm glad you enjoyed your visit, but if you get to do the trip again I encourage you to find a guide who really knows the lands to take you back in time and have the benefit of local history that only a local can give you :-)

Thank you for watching! Yes this was our first time visiting and we never expected to feel the way we did with the places we did get to see, and we felt like this country deserves other trips for sure! Thank you for your tips, if you have recommendations on guides like what you mentioned please share 😊 We love history and taking in the locals stories, it is just a bit harder to share that on video. We have a lot more from our trip to come, and are still working on editing many more videos, so please look out for those. Thanks again!!
