I had the honor of spending the American leg of this tour being a tour manager/ jack of all trades. I was also the driver, the roadie, the sound man on the first 3 shows, doing lights, recorded the shows and basically having a hell of a time for 3 weeks across the states and Canada. What an experience spending time with this amazing artist and his great little band.
I was at this show. Hard to believe that it was that long ago. Seeing Hammill live was a rare treat here in the State. I had previously seen him and Graham Smith at the Cellar Door in Washington, DC. I think that would have been in 1978 on Valentines Day. I still have some pics of that night.
I saw him on this tour in Groningen, Netherlands, winter 1990 - 1991. Yes, they opened with 'The wave'. Cat's eye, Patient, Unconsious Life, Isabel's Dance, A Way Out and of course The Future Now, Traintime and Modern. They were in great form. Potter's bass lines, Gordon's magic violin playing. Hammill's timing and vocal delivery... I was very impressed and - about 30 years later - I can still visualize and hear this evening by memory. Great!
Yes. The first time I saw Peter Live was on this Tour (in Glasgow). He seemed to Play the whole Set with eyes closed in a kind of Trance state. They opened with "The Wave", and with the Legendary Nic Potter onstage, the Van Der Graaf Vibe was very much in evidence. Got my copy of Pawn Hearts signed at the end. R.I.P~ "MOZART" and "HOOLIGAN".
I was also at that Glasgow gig, King Tuts, wasn't it ?. I was right at the front and managed to blag a handshake from all three of them at the end. Great memories.
@@jamesmillarspence3690 Hi. Yeah that was a magic Gig right enough. Sad that "Mozart" Potter and "Hooligan" Gordan are no longer with us though the Music and the memories are. Be Well. Cheers.🎸🎶🎻🎶🎹🎶🎤👌
