Still remember the first time I heard that , was helping our plumber out removing some old incorrectly pitched waste lines when I reacted to the smell. He smiled and looked me in the eyes and uttered the infamous line and I could not stop laughing.
A while back in winter in Scotland the pipes froze, and we were afraid the drains would freeze too, and I realised that while you can live without electricity fairly easily, and without plumbed water with some difficulty, if your drains don't work you're completely screwed.
I cannot handle the poo (that's why I'm not in the plumbing biz!) but it's honestly interesting seeing cockroaches survive that. I appreciate how excited you are doing this extremely important work, I just started a new job myself and hope to have even a fraction of your enthusiasm! edit: g'day Allison!

They can survive a couple weeks without a head, they can eat almost anything without getting sick, and they’re genetically resistant to conventional pesticides. Also they regrow lost limbs.
