As Bailey alluded to this... in the mid 80's, there was a mad man who danced all day in front of what was a record shop(?): a few doors from the dad of the yute that owns City Rock. Years after, in the late 80's, De-La Vega City man dem copy the dance, slowed it down, and it became a sensation: giving Bailey a number one tune.
@teachdem, is the best RUclips channel out of JA. Don't just live on the bad ting/ppl/politicians but also the good and the unknown about our great nation 🇯🇲🇯🇲!kepp doing great thing "n mek it reach dem"
@@grim_reeper5949 i don't even look at his vlogs. Its sad that they would thrive on the negative side of what's going on but to uplift the good things about the country seems a burden.
Watching this interview brings back a lot of memories, I remember when this song comes out I was a teenager me and my friends used to be drinking a lot of beer trying to get our belly big, when he come out with the song big belly man, it’s real when they said music got a lot of influence on young people, I appreciate the interviewer gratitude is a must.
Great interview Teach. Really suprised we don't hear more about Admiral today compared to other artists of the time. The man has done a lot and his vibes are hilarious but seems great to be around. Keep up the good works Teach. History in every interview
Grew up in Duhaney Park Kingston 20 as a yute...around the corner from the clinic and the football field. Watch the coach and practice all the while... Go watch match after church pon a Sunday. Jah know teacha... MEMORIES!...How yuh nuh ask him bout the bike life!?... a big bike-a! Big dance used to keep at the Clinic and on the field... I couldnt go dem times true my aunty never inna dem sumpn deh! I as a yute used too sneak out a di house guh inna di backyard n climb mi guava tree an listen dance all night. Right now Im apart of a wicked sound a Brooklyn... Bailey was my local superstar. Ball and music...A god dat!... to me as yute inna dem times... Jah guide n bless!
Admiral Bailey “heh heh heh heh unuh think me did done” Born for greatness one of my favorite Dj sing J source of light shine upon him @ TeachDem Thanks for doing these interviews so the that the younger generations can hear about the journey of the true pillars of Dancehall you too deserve an award for this program that too is coming
Teach-Dem. It's reaching dem. Admiral is Very Hilarious, entertaining, educational 🤣 😆 😂 and fun. I've really enjoyed this session☺ . These great songs/ music 🎶 will always make you laugh till you cry 😢 😭 🎶 🤣 😂 💔 love it! luv it.
Many veteran artists like Admiral Bailey can still draw a crowd at a festival in Europe especially London but many newer artists do not have the stage presence or performance levels because of their lack of live sound system experience. Johnny P is another veteran that comes to mind who can tour in Europe and everyone knows him even if he doesn't have a current hit in the charts
England doesnt view themselves as „Europe“ and only die hard fans or soundmen know who Johnny P is in Europe. The average festival visitor wants to experience the event and if it s a reggae show, they re looking forward to see something that s like their image of reggae music. Whoever can give them that, will win the crowd. Could be Johnny P or Alpha Blondy or anybody. Of course there are fans of certain artist, that go there too and they come to see Protoje or Beres etc And yes, there is a minority of hardcore fans that know everything about reggae and dancehall going to these events too, but that s a small minority.. As i ve said England is a totally different market, that s much more connected to Jamaica with it s own history. Too many times i ve seen artist sitting around at some promoters place, waiting on work while they are on tour out here. Mostly there s one festival that booked them in the first place and paid for flights, visa etc and then there s one or two dances that are trying to book a show. That s the sad reality. An artist like Admiral Bailey can get a full festival season out here and go from event to event if he ask for a reasonable price, sure. I understand his look on it and he s not wrong. But it s Koffee, Sizzla, Tarrus etc that draw the crowd in the first place. The impression that Europe is a cakewalk when it comes to reggae shows and tours is false. I d say that fans in Europe are a bit more loyal and once they like you, they like you. If you had a hot song 5-10 years they liked and you are a good performer, they wont dash you away like that. That s true. America and Jamaica are more like „either you hot or you not“ . And when you re „not“, you re not happening, no matter if you where „hot“ just yesterday
Just a come. D admiral. Teach dem dem entertainment yah mek dance jump. Big belly man. Think him did done. A no me mek u nahhhh mek no money. Hilarious Jamaican. Respect. Respect. Teach mi
As usual, Teach, you did an excellent job interviewing Admiral Bailey. Your research shows and your bantering and love for the music is evident. I really enjoy listening to your program. Admiral Bailey was also a good candidate for interview. It was one of the most enjoyable interviews I've seen on your program. I was glad you go into the controversial areas and bring things into light and let them be seen in their proper context . The Admiral earned my respect when he took responsibility for his actions concerning the passport issue. When however, it came to his children he lost all my respect. To not answer questions concerning his children speaks to his character or lack thereof. If he made a mistake in fathering many children whom he couldn't properly father, man up, admit it. Take responsibility for having them. Tell us the man/ father you are/ are not. We have all made mistakes but to hide the truth is not manly
Admiral bailey bring nuff crowd in Jamaica And all over the world real veteran blessings mi general bailey more life bless up teech dem for the great interview continue to teach dem teech dem 👍
Big Big Respect Admiral Bailey!! You're truly one of the greatest contributor to reggae music! You are recognized by your millions of fan... true ting dat!!

Listen to part 1 and just finished pt2. Both interviews were candid, honest, humorous and just so down to earth, thoroughly enjoyed. Admiral Bailey seems so approachable, just like someone you know personally and that has a lot to do with comfortable and amicable ways you conduct your interviews.
