Definitely not a sponge. I use it exclusively as a potholder and jar opener. I wouldn't have purchased it for just those purposes, but since I already had it, I had to find uses for it. Nice thorough review.

Freakin' Reviews thanks! They are really just expensive potholders and and jar openers.

You got stock at the age of dish cloths. Exactly like your grandmother would have responded to a sponge. You didn’t like them from the beginning. You are missing it’s not absorbing. Do you like the disgusting smell of a sponge, the discolouration, the bacteria inside? I guess they called it sponge because the purpose we should use them for. It’s perfect for washing up but not good for scrubbing. The lifetime of this at least 10 times longer than a normal sponge. I found these one of the good new invention.

I found it very useful. I don't really scrub more stuck on foods with it but it is very nice. Doesn't scratch any of my plates and such. Doesn't mold if you do clean it. Saves more money in the aspect of it not having to continuously replace it. Can't do some of the harder duties but I'm ok with that.

I bought these on clearance. After a few days of fumbling around with them..I figured out how to use them & now I'm hooked! Love these! Been using the same sponge on dishes 8 months now. They are just like brand new. Doesn't work as well to scrub up stove. No funky smelling sponge anymore!

🤦🏽‍♀️This is like someone who says they discovered the fountain of youth, and just keeps it to themselves.
Or discovered how to never get sick, from the common cold to the most vile disease, and says nothing😑
      Are you trolling?

I have some smaller versions of those and they stink as far as "sponge" goes but they do make great soap savers! Place a bar of soap on them and the water drains off the soap making your bar last longer. I can't imagine why they would call these sponges? My idea of a sponge is an absorbent material

Just bought at Home Goods 7/3/2021 for $2.99. You guys paid $15??? They are worth $3 not $14. The extra work with those Better Sponge in the long haul is better for the glaze on your dishes as apposed to that scratchy side of the regular sponge. But at the end of the day most people dont leave egg yolk on any dishes or they soak it for a bit to soften for ease in cleaning. I bought these for camping. They will work great in a setting where there is soft dirt and grass. Easy to rinse off dirt/grass if they fall on the ground, paper towels will do the rest of the other cleaning and wiping. Great review.

Do they work for face cleaning? My sister offered one to me and told me she used it for her face for more than a year and it's really awesome.

If you use these "sponges" for cleaning enough, your hands will become so strong, which defeats the purpose of using them as a jar opener.

IndyDuane I bought them at Bed Bath and Beyond for $14.99 and used a 20% off coupon. You are probably better off to keep using what you have been. Thanks!

THANK YOU, ladies, for saving me lots of money. The only reason I wanted them is because of the bacteria in the gross regular sponge, but after what I saw it with my own eyes and your comments while scrubbing, I will give 2 THUMBS DOWN to the silicone scrubbers.

Mine works. I just bought one (different brand) and I love it. It works great. I think they call it a sponge because people won’t know what to do with it. I did not have the same experience you did.

could be a better silicone or design is better than these. I also think it meant to be used with a sink full of soap water. Soap will rinse away easily and may not lather if it isn't a foam soap being put directly on the better sponge. I love those silicone facial exfoliators and I have found them to work the best by lathering my cleaner between 2 of them as they don't clean as well if you don't it also decreases the amount of cleanser I need.

    • @susylopez9308
      @susylopez9308 6 лет назад

nickyb2u also the back part of the “sponge” works well with tough areas. I hope my sisters love it as much as I do. Everyone is getting one for Christmas lol.

Ladies... It almost makes sense to use them strictly in the shower since you don't need to scrub your body too hard with it and it'll last cuz it won't go moldy. 'A better luffa!' 😃

I buy a 3 pack of the Scotch Brite sponges (or the equivalent) once a month, use 1 sponge for about 10 days, then trow it away & start with a new one. I've also heard about the bacterial issues with sponges, so I soak my dish brushes & sponge in a vase with part bleach & part water twice a week, otherwise they get pretty nasty. Thanks for the review, I will know NOT to try these out. 😃

Calling it sponge is wrong and setting it up for failure. Marketing should be fired. It only serves the soaping aspect of a sponge, not the absorbing or the scrubbing per the abrasive side of some sponge. It is great for spreading the soap to whatever you're cleaning, long lasting, and doesn't grow mildew.

I loved this review. It immediately caught my attention when Rachel say's ..."It Feels Fun!". Well I put down my Maximum magazine to listen further!!!
When Rachel while " Opening the Package" say's... "I just want to touch it", made me wish her and I went to high school together.
OK...so we learned that Silicone/latex is not a great cleaning tool, but we all know that it is great in condoms and diaphragms when the man is not..."sponge worthy!".
