Hey Mick, these trout are moving in.. see the young fella on an awesome size trout at Mackay boat ramp? Look up tackle world site? You wouldn’t believe that! I didn’t till I saw it, omg, what’s going on? The trout are moving closer inshore, and big ones, great vid mate
another great episode Mick - thanks😉 BUT I cant find SAMAKI LIVE SHRIMP PLASTIC that is not already rigged i.e. without a weighted hook. Am in Brisbane... any suggestions please?? Mal
The drag is set reasonably tight to match the line but when I get something that’s decent trying to get its head back down I feather the spool to insert some extra dominance 💪🏻 I’d be pushing my luck running a drag that heavy all the time with shock loads and head shakes…
Thanks man! Yeah it’s not a bad thing hey, this 7’6 spin is a nice rod, first longer rod I enjoyed using really! I just got a 7’2 baitcast rod too so you’ll probably see that soon as the barra season reopens
@@Micksgonefishing cheers bro, I was looking at one of their baitcast rods for swimbaits on the flats in the bay chasing big flathead but didn't want to spend a heap on a longer baitcast rod for those flats (like a daiwa ) that isn't going to get used much in the creeks. 7'2 sounds like a happy medium, will be good to get your thoughts once the seasons good
Thanks mate! After all these years I’m only just now copping copyright claims on the intro song and even though I’ve licensed the song they’re not releasing the claim
That fish was too big for me to keep! I’m happy knowing he’s out there growing and that one day I might tangle with him again, I’ll keep the trout any day as a nice easy, tasty meal 👌🏻
That Cobe on the light year!! Very entertaining to watch 😂😂
Hahah yeah I didn’t think I was getting that one 😂
Cracking inshore Trout and beautiful eating size Finger! Well done Mick
Thanks mate! Top quality for in that close 👌🏻
When you sunk the hook on that trout the bend in that rod is everything 👏🏽
Haha yeah it’s a weapon on the inshore stuff that rod 👌🏻
@@Micksgonefishing what’s the length?
That cobia! Great lesson on patience and how to protect such a beautiful fish. Great session!,
Yeah I was surprised to get that one in to be honest, doesn’t take much to lose a fish like that on this tackle!
Perfect day mate, cant wait to get my five year old boy out there on nice fish using that simple lure, this is great fishing
Thanks man! Agreed! So accessible but still can be rewarding!
Wow that was an incredible fight to land that COBIA. And those trout looked amazing great footage mate 🙌🏼
Haha yeah I’m surprised we got that thing to the boat let alone in it 😂😂 thanks mate!!

Nah there’s always been trout in this close they’re just smart cos they see alot of offerings..
Epic session that dreams are made of another great video 🔥🙌🏼
Definitely one of the best inshore sessions for the year!
Awesome session looks like the planets aligned for that one. Great stuff.
I think so too 😅👌🏻
Good job with the net dude!!!!!
Definitely did well to fit that fish in there! Bloody ridiculous 👌🏻
Hahaha that's a ripper sesh. Onya boys
Thanks man! Yeah I was stoked!
Cracking video what a great feed so close to shore
Thanks mate, yeah it was a nice change to get fishing so good inshore… the day before we burnt $500 of fuel chasing a marlin and didn’t lose a bait…
ANDY WOULD BE PROUD LOL 😂😂.
Bahahahaha
Another example of a great video mate
Thanks mate!! 🍻
good stuff mate, is that mackay? Im buying a tinny next week, cant wait to get out there... see you next time you drop into the tackle shop
Thanks mate!! Sure is 👌🏻
How sic was that little session bro 🤙 definitely got the mixed bag of inshore species for quick run out and the quality not to bad at all Mick 👌🎣
Yeah mate, very fun when the fishing is that good! It doesn’t happen often but when it does it makes the tough sessions worthwhile
I fish so much around mackay and rarely catch anything decent, so jealous. Still fun watching you do it though!
There are a lot of fish around but there are also a lot of fishos so the fish are well trained… keep with it and the rewards will come as you learn 👌🏻
little sea snake was like "whats goin on over here fellas?"
Haha yeah too close for my liking 😅😂
another great episode Mick - thanks😉
BUT I cant find SAMAKI LIVE SHRIMP PLASTIC that is not already rigged i.e. without a weighted hook.
Am in Brisbane... any suggestions please?? Mal
Yeah that’s the one I just take the weedless hook out and replace with a jighead
Great video mate. Just wondering what rod you were using in that vid?
7’6 Nomad Sea Core 12-25lb 👌🏻
Thanks mate.
Good video again mick you using a new range of rod there
Yeah new rod from Nomad, got a couple of them to play with inshore
Hey Mick thx for the vid.. Have you been able to try out the 3peice travel rod with the same specs from Nomad ?
Nah I haven’t mate but after this I might look into one for the trips up north
I have 2 travel seacores. A medium and medium heavy with 5k saltist mq. Beautiful rod combo so well made you won't regret it for travelling.
Succulent Chinese meal 😂😂
Hahahaha
How come do you grab the spool all the time?
The drag is set reasonably tight to match the line but when I get something that’s decent trying to get its head back down I feather the spool to insert some extra dominance 💪🏻 I’d be pushing my luck running a drag that heavy all the time with shock loads and head shakes…
Hey mate, what's the rod model? Is it the inshore or 6.6 jig? What lb?
What a cracking session.
It’s the 7’6 inshore model 👌🏻
Cheers 🍻
@@Micksgonefishing What LB rating?
Hey mate, what is the weight and size of that jighead?
As always great video :)
Thank you
Thanks mate, it’s a 5/0 half oz BKK Harpax Offshore 👌🏻
What brand is that soft prawn you are using mate?.
127mm Samaki Live Shrimp mate 👌🏻
Great sesh man, how do you rate the seacores? awesome to see that cobia swim off strong without any shark involvement during the fight hey

That’s crazy! Never thought they grew that big…
Great episode Mick stonker trout but mate wer’s the intro 😅😅😂
