It's not everyday I learn something from a 9 years old. She is at least 3 standard deviations away from the mean age of the person I typically learn something from. Which means this little lady's age makes her statistically significant!
I've been waiting for an explanation about MLE like this for over 20 years. Most people just say, "we'll use MLE and let the computer worry about the details." Well, I wanted the details.
