  • The McCallum Percussion Ensemble performs "Luminescence" by Nathan Daughtrey, at the McCallum Arts Center, Austin TX, on 12/14/2019.
Luminescence is a musical interpretation of the beautiful natural phenomenon known as the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) and Aurora Australis (Southern Lights). These ethereal displays of colored lights shimmering across the night sky are the result of electrons colliding with the upper reaches of Earth's atmosphere.
Luminescence was originally commissioned by the Monroe Township Middle School Percussion Ensemble, Yale Snyder, Director and Zachary Morolda, District Supervisor of the Department for the Applied Arts and Career Technology, Monroe Township School District, Monroe Township, NJ.
Director for the McCallum High School Percussion Ensemble is Matt Ehlers.

We have to play this in 8th grade for like a send off thing for high school. This is a beautiful piece but it’s quite complex. I loved the way you guys play it though.

This was AMAMZING, now I just have to copy the vibraphone part for my ensemble. This was lots of help to see where I need to play.
