Women Empowerment is the key to building stronger economy in any nation especially in developing countries like Africa.
Women reinvest 90% of their income into the family, compared to 30 to 40% by men. This means women spend more on their children, food, shelter, and education which creates long-term social and economic gains for their communities.
This makes them an integral part of ending the cycle of poverty. In fact, if women had the same access to productive resources as men, they could increase yields on their farm by 20 to 30%.
Our goal at Ray of Hope Empowerment Foundation (ROHEF) is to see that more women are cared for, become self reliant and economically empowered.
That the life of the less privileged African woman and girl is transformed economically.
We want to see more women gainfully employed, and given a fair playing ground to participate equally for the betterment of the society.
This is what led to the birthing of Women Rising Against Poverty (WRAP) by Ray Of Hope Empowerment Foundation (ROHEF).
Over the weekend, Ray Of Hope Empowerment Foundation and her team supported 10 women in different categories with funds to boost their businesses. Each of the women got N40,000 and the woman who is into poultry farming got N60,000.
A lot of the women need help, some trade under the scorching sun. The men too didn't want to let us go, they also wanted us to Empower them.
