I’m mesmerized. Had to watch this video 4 times. I kept getting distracted by what tool you used, or or how you used it in a way I hadn’t thought of, or something about your bench that I hadn’t thought of. The music is perfect. No boring talk. Great lighting and editing. Great image composition. Great editing! You are a benchmark for how to make an instructional video. Very professional in every way! Thank you!
i know im asking the wrong place but does anybody know a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@Zane Roy Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im trying it out atm. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Honestly, when I saw the thumbnail of this video, I didn't think I would like the modern ring design and method to set the stone. This is one of those moments when you do not judge a book by its cover. In the end, I thought the ring design was beautiful and the technique excellent. Not sure why you took as many passes with the setting bur as you did. Think it may be to level the seat. None the less, the ring turned out beautiful! Well done!
You do AWESOME work!!! I've been going through a bunch of your videos and you definitely have a new subscriber out of me! Keep up the good work man, cant wait to see what you do next.
I just stumbled across this great video. I love the design. What did you use in your flexshaft to hold the bezel setting when filing the angle againt your metal file please? Thanks !
It's the grs bench mate! 😉 Quite pricy but it's very good! Comes with a dovetail bench mount that allow u to change to a ball vice set up too, but u buy each set up separately,, hope that helps u out!
Thanks for subscribing. After drilling I used a bud bur to enlarge the opening, then I used a stone setting bur to make the opening slightly smaller than the stone size and make the walls of the opening straight. I finished with a 45 degree bur to slightly under cut the seat in order to allow the stone to slip in. The 45 degree bur thinned the top of the seat. Making a proper seat is key to making the stone easy to set with the hammer and punch,
Just one last question, somewhere you start using a bud bur. I've been surching around but I can't find any supplier that sells this kind, the bold one with the point and twisted cutters I mean. Do you ave an address for me where I can order these? Think I'm gonna use them for LOTS of things :-).
Steve, I just love this ring. It’s so beautiful!

Thank you. If the seat is made the right size, the right depth and even, setting the stone is easy.
Very clean. Love it! Thank you!!!

amazingly beautiful :o
I am living for this insanely adjustable ring vise setup! it looks very organic to adjust and rotate, can you point me towards this product/system?

One more thing please, how did u attach the bezel to the flex shaft? This is a wonderful idea btw. I love it.
I used a mandrel that is made for mounting a silicone wheel and I drilled the hole in the bezel to fit the size of the screw on the mandrel.
Steve Howard I really appreciate it. I'm a self taught....learned by watching and asking. You are very generous. TY again
It was the least I could do and I always do the least I can :)
wow....you make that look so easy...! thank you so much...do you have a book?
Thank you Cathy. Sorry to say I don't have a book :)
Wow great video just curious what gauge silver did you start with for the bezel...?
Thank you Zippy :) The metal for the bezel was 10 gauge.
I really liked the shank
Wow, Gorgeous
Hello Steve, amazing skill.
I need some hand drawn silver wire. Is there something you can do to help me acquire the same?
Can you tell us the name of the thing that holds the ring and the gooo that you used to set the jam in the setting.
Hi! Love your videos. I'm a new subscriber. Can u please list the burs you used. Much appriciated.

Steve Howard wow thanks for the reply.
Very nice! What is the thickness of the plate you used?
The plate was 10 gauge.
