Thanks for the thorough explanation for generating spin and speed with tips for combating it! I've been trying to incorporate this into play with some success.
The chainsaw serve is voted to be illegal starting 2022. This was voted by USPA Board of Directors on October 28,2021. The Morgan Evan’s serve stays because one handed. Serving hand does not have to be an open handed palm
A table tennis player who is in the advanced level can execute a lot of spin serves in pickleball as well as we can easily return those spin serves since it has lesser spin compared to a table tennis serve..
Often I notice good directional servers want to spin the ball depending on what hand my paddle is in. Sometimes I will hide my paddle behind my back. If the ball is going to spin left of me I prefer to return the ball with my left hand. Vice versa with right. Other times I just make the switch if needed after the serve. Some serves come so fast I just use my gut to tell me which hand to use. Is there any logic to my approach?
I recommend doing what is most comfortable and produces the best return results. The server is going to pick on a side if it is weaker. They shouldn’t be server so fast that you need to hide the paddle behind you. 👍
I can disguise the spin by just using my serving thumb by spinning it off the top of my thumb or the bottom, therefore my left hand goes left. Returner doesn't see which spin I'm doing.
Great video. But Elisha why long socks? This isn't 1975. You weren't even born yet. Justin please help. Thankfully I learned plenty despite the socks .
LOL, dude your feet in the beginning are TWICE your shoulder width apart even though you say "keep them shoulder width apart". WAY too far apart to move correctly. Because of that I have no idea if the rest of the video is any good, I could not watch it when you start off with such a glaring error and your posture is so far off.
Good tips, but the ready stance feet were way wider than "shoulder width".
Thanks! I'm in my mid 30s and I was receiving serves from a man in his mid 60s. His serves are so impressive! Major spins! #RESPECT
Players are still doing these illegal serves in Rec play. It's so annoying.
Sound quality was great, VERY well presented and really helpful
Thanks
Newbie here - I am ready to practice those spin serves! Very helpful video guys, Thx

Very helpful video !!!
Awesome learning experience 👍
So what's the "good distance" from the bounce?
Good tips!
Good tips. But is a 2 handed spin/chainsaw serve allowed this year in 2022.
I know this video was made several months ago.
Correct, this is no longer legal
Would it be possible to delete the parts with the now illegal serve OR add a note on those parts saying the serves shown are illegal?
Awesome video. 👍👏
Great. Thanks.

I see that intro, yall are lookin better with every video
💪🏼
love the new intro!
Thanks, was hoping someone would! 😊
“We stand in an athletic stance with our feet shoulder width apart” And then he stands like he’s built like a Mac truck 😂
To the best of my knowledge, these serves are now illegal.
If right hand goes up it goes to my right. Most people serve with their right hand. Are you saying some folks serve with both hands?
is this chainsaw serve becoming illegal
in PB?
It is becoming illegal starting in 2022
The eyes closed was mint.
You can no longer spin the ball in your hand. It's against Pickleball 2023 rules.
I can disguise the spin by just using my serving thumb by spinning it off the top of my thumb or the bottom, therefore my left hand goes left. Returner doesn't see which spin I'm doing.
how about this track the ball and hit it back. Holy poo haven't seen one rec player that can make the ball jump enough to throw you off!!
For 2022 excessive spin serve is now illegal
Dude, you must have very wide shoulders! I think your feet are a bit more than that! Great videos!!
Can't spin the ball with hand on serve what yall talking bout? In hella confused here? Why practice stuff that's not legal?
Wish drop serve w bounce was mandatory. Spin serves are just junk. Makes pb as boring as tennis.
Great video. But Elisha why long socks? This isn't 1975. You weren't even born yet. Justin please help. Thankfully I learned plenty despite the socks .
😂🧦
Your feet are wider than your shoulders. Please correct your feet positions.
Spin serves at the rec level are for lazy players who don't want to learn the game.

Why are you teaching illegal serves? I dont get it.
Guys get to the point. Stop mansplaining everything. You lose your audience.
This content is not valid any more.
bro,, to much talking and not enough jus playing. this is why younger kids don't play this sport lmao.
that serve is no longer legal.
