This is a fair review of one of the greatest films I have ever seen and I must have watched it around 40 times. Not only is the movie a visual feast, but the musical score, casting, story and acting are incredible. Martin Scorsese has described this as the greatest western movie of all time and he eventually went on to remaster it. He also tried to hunt down the missing hours of material, but to no avail. Pina Pellicer, herself, spoke of a brief fling with Brando in which she lamented that he had "devoured" her, leaving her feeling somewhat devastated and used. She is truly magnificent in this performance and it is so sad that she took her own life and died so young.
ItS the most Grecian narrative of any Hollywood film: of love, betrayal, attempted revenge that destroys the heroic revenge seeker. What other western hero is so tragic?
They must launch the 5 hours version.
Most beautiful western of ever!

My Dad took my sister and me to see this movie probably in 61 or 62. It left an impression on me. It was one of my favorite westerns.
