the INXS frontman 'wanted to separate' from girlfriend Yates in explosive
new biography.His sudden death shocked the world after he was found hanged in his Sydney hotel room in November 1997.But twenty years on, explosive revelations about Michael Hutchence's turbulent relationship with Paula Yates have been unveiled in a new biography by Toby Creswell.In an excerpt of the book published in The Daily Telegraph on Saturday, the rock star's brother, Rhett, is quoted as saying: 'Paula had been feeding Michael bullsh*t; when he started finding out how much it was costing him to be with her, I think he wanted to separate.'

He always looked sad when he was with her
He was happier with his new girlfriend Erin whom he was several months. The police investigation after his death into phone records and interviews with other's including the band, found he would fly her in to stay with him as he and the band travelled.
After he had a break down in England on October 17th, as is in the coroner report, he was in therapy then renewed his Prozac before leaving on Oct 30th. All this is in the death investigation found online and in Gee's book about the suicide investigation.
He then went to LA to stay with his girlfriend Erin at her apartment. You can look up photos of him hanging and performing at The Viper Club on Nov 5th. The band had finished their USA tour in September, and he could have stayed in England, but hated it there. It was after Duran released that horrible song on Oct 14th teling Michael to stop wanting to be and to stop helping Paula. Later Simon LeBon tried to say it was a fan song and then about drugs, but the interviews from 97, LeBon (a close friends of Geldof) said it was because they thought he shouldn't be helping Paula with her divorce. Paula was going broke and Michael was helping her out.
SOoooo The investigation after Michael's suicide showed he had been on the phone with Erin for hours when away from her, stayed at her apartment (not a hotel as some said) and Erin said that he and Paula argued about breaking up on the phone. (Mystify Documentary).
The whole plan to try a few weeks in Australia for before and after Xmas - not during xmas as some said (see The Police Statement of Paula Yates), was because Paula knew he never wanted to return to the UK.

It was stress and depression mainly. TBI may have lead to poor decision making & an inability to navigate bad situations but according to many he was ready snap and spinning on a prozac high. Many friends reported he was on the brink.
An interview in the UK observer (2017) called “ln the eye of the storm”, friend Catherine Mayer, said ” Michael had called just a few days before he died, crying so hard I couldn't make out every word, talking of legal battles & the endless, relentless press attention”. So sad.
I think Paula wanted to turn Michael into a faithful family man…but I don’t think that was ever going to happen!

Oh yeah I've seen documentaries etc that say Michael was shagging another woman.
I think he did love Paula but he couldn't deal with all the shit that came with being with her. The custody battle and the press were up his arse on a daily basis. He adored his little girl but he couldn't handle all the stress of being a celebrity and his partner going through such a horrendous divorce and custody battle.
Michael was always with other women. He didn't hide the fact that he'd never marry or be domesticated. There's only one woman who could stand a chance with him in a forever capacity, and that's to be ok with his sexual prowess until he either grew out of it, or wanted to slow down and raise a family.

In the last 24/36hrs all I've done is watch every documentary every video every interview about one of the most talented vocalist I've ever heard, INXSS Michael Hutchence. When i first heard Mystify when it first came out many years ago I went out and bought it first thing on 12inch vinyl went home and put it on repeat! I've still got it to this day. The band must still miss him terribly, such a waste of one beautiful soul. My heart goes out to all of his family friends and fellow musicians and my personal opinion on the daughter that Michael and Paula had together Tiger Lily is that she should be with her Daddys side of the family, she looks sooooooo much like her Dad and I'm 100% sure that would have been Michael's wish!.Thought of and missed for eternity 💖🦋🌻🌈🙏 xx

We had lots of bands playing at the club but we never saw anything like this before and after that.

The sex game theory of his death was disproven repeatedly as well as the whole S&M rumor. Paula at 1st blamed stress from Bob & the press (look up the Police Report of Paula Yates) & was recorded screaming at Q magazine that he wasn't into S&M or sex clubs & that she agreed with the coroner's report that RULED OUT SEXUAL ACTIVITY. She changed her story to sell it for money.
Rhett, his estranged brother also lied - for mola - when he said there were bolts for sex games in the hotel room & that his agent Marta knew about this. Marta disputed Rhetts lies & pointed out that Rhett & Michael rarely even spoke.

I absolutely share this point of view. What I find very strange, though, is how most people, including those who investigated the circumstances around his death, have brushed off the fact that the pictures and drugs that were found at their place was a set-up. There was even a mention of a parcel received by mail containing the drugs. Even Michael's stepsister and mother mentioned something about knowing how it was a set-up during an interview. I mean, this incident is responsible for a lot of what went down after...And we know that Paula cheated on Bob with Michael and left him...seeing what kind of desperate thing heartbroken people are capable of, I would not be surprised if that was a revenge set-up to cause the issues with the custody battle. For Michael's death part, we will never know 100% how it happened for real despite some people being convinced that it's auto erotic asphyxiation and others that it's suicide, based on investigation report and testimonials of closed people. Imo, both are possible, and murder is not impossible either. Disguised suicide have been done before. And for Bob to be the one taking Tiger Lily's with him after Michael's death instead of Michael's family is soooooo wrong and completely inappropriate to me. It almost sounds like Bob is saying "You stole my wife and broke our family, I will ruin you and take your only kid from you and make her call me dad." Is it just me ??? It's not like the other family members didn't try to get Tiger Lily's custody. They actually did fought, and they failed due to "Sir Bob"'s resistance. Why would a man want to fight so much to raise the kid that was born from the union between his unfaithful ex-wife and another man that he hated passionately after they passed? That sounds a bit twisted to me and not sincerely genuine by principle, nor for the kids' best interest in the long term. My point of view here.

As far as I am aware, Hutchence suffered a brain injury after which was placed on Prozac. There is always a risk of suicide in early use of Prozac. Thr6y adored one another but it was Michael that introduced mother of four Paula to drugs and the vortex began, with the OD of Paula and years later her daughter Peaches. Tragic.

He loved Paula at first, but he was catching on to her games and was indeed trying to figure out how to break it off with her and still be able to see his daughter. He knew that if he broke it off with Paula, she would never let him see his daughter. He was so upset after learning they couldn't fly to Australia because he wanted to spend Christmas with Tiger and if Paula couldn't make it, then he would not be able to spend Christmas with his daughter. Michael should have just taken Tiger and a nanny with him when he went to Australia for the INXS tour and tell Paula she could join them later after her custody hearing was over. However during that custody hearing Bob Geldof wouldn't let Paula take 2 of their 3 daughters to Australia with her so she told Michael they wouldn't be coming. It is interesting though that after Michael passed away, she was on the first plane with Tiger to Australia leaving those 2 daughters behind anyway! So why didn't she just do that for Christmas?
