The first time I heard "Need You Now" was the week before Thanksgiving as I cranked up K-LOVE while driving home from yet another unsuccessful job interview a year after being laid off from a 30 year contract Graphic Designer Sr, position at NASA. I was only 53 then so I wasn't ready to retire. I got home early so depressed, and my wife wasn't home yet so after I fed our two cats I went into our sun room to play my custom blue Vistalite and Roto-tom drum kit. We are worship leaders at our church, I play my Roland TD-6 double kick electronic drum kit and sing lead, and I practiced at home on acoustics. Anyway I had cranked up K-LOVE and started jamming to Lincoln Brewster's "Today is the Day" and then Plumb came on (again) with "Need You Now" and I just wept while hammering my floor tom with that pulsating rhythm throughout the song like she does in concert! Thanks Tiffany for being such an inspiration and writing really cool drum parts in your songs. Unfortunately I had to part with my custom drum kit when we downsized to an apartment in 2014. Yes, age 5 to Senior is right! It's five years later and I still get blessed by your music, along with Lincoln Brewster, Stryper and Skillet. I just turned 60 and my lovely wife Ursula and I will be celebrating our 19th Anniversary this weekend 102819. I am so happy you and your husband (and family) is back together as God intended, but I noticed one thing, you aren't wearing a wedding ring! Must be a girl thing? My wife takes hers off all the time and can't wear it at work either. On the other hand (no pun intended) I always wear mine, even when I am drumming AND at work. In fact it's only been off my finger less than half a dozen times in the past 19 years, and that was for cleaning the diamonds and replacing a battery in my truck. To me it's important to keep it on, but like I said it must be a girl thing as to why you're not wearing one. Next year for our 20th Anniversary we're getting a new and improved MOAB (Mother of all Blues) wedding set, in white gold and sapphires and diamonds, and I will probably still wear this one on my other hand or around my neck. I am recovering and feeling so much better. I can relate to her story so much and interestingly, that song is one of my go-to songs for me anxiety and I didn't know at the time that that is why she wrote it...just incredible! I knew there was a deeper reason why I loved this song so much. The artist and I have similar issues with anxiety. I have been diagnosed with IBS but suffer with anxiety as well. Thankfully I've learned to get it all under control but to this day, doctors really don't know what's wrong. IBS is used so freely nowadays. Any problem in the gastrointestinal tract that cannot be solved gets diagnosed as IBS. I know what it's like to be in that dark place where you are done with wishing doctors would find what's wrong and cure it but instead wish they'd find something wrong so at least there was a reason for all this pain and suffering. I know what it's like to wish it would all just come to an end because going through the motions of your illness is just too great for you to deal with. I know what it's like to literally cry out, even shout out to God for help. For those reasons, I love this song, and I love this artist. God bless you all.
