No problem. I het this question often. I am trying to show beginners the easiest way. Always better to go by the manufacturer's instructions. I have been doing it this way for 6 yrs. If you mix the dry together and leave it sit for a while, or days, the calcium nitrate will absorb moisture and turn hard as a rock that can't dissolve. Dont know if you tried this or not but it seems like you could install downward facing tees with a capped pipe going downwards for the long roots to grow into. This could reduce or eliminate blocking the flow pipes
Try dwarf verities, i had good results on my window with dwarf tomatoes. i grew red robins but didn't like them as much for they were a bit to acidic for my taste now I'm trying to sprout some Tiny Tim for i hear they are sweet.
Much discussion about this. Do it any way you like, following the manufacturer's suggestion is always better. I have been doing it like this for 8 years with no problems. 🖒
Hello there... 😊... you are really awesome, i like your techniques, cool and simple... i have planted a basil from cutting and it was growing well in coco peat, when i planted that in a plastic container with hydroponic set up, even that time it was fine, however I thought of putting that through a cardboard (supporter) and since then my plant isn’t growing... ☹️.. moreover when i put my mint plants all died due to small aphids.. i dont know from where did they come... please help😟😟😟
I don't know, maybe the cardboard was too tight. Aphids are tough. If you are not using pesticide you have to watch close. Remove any part of the plant that is in fested. Blast the rest with a hose. Keep doing it until you get it under control. You can look for organic pesticides too.
Valerie Sanchez : It’s To bad that you can’t make do with a 2 or 3 gallon bucket for what you’re doing. You know, I’ve been thinking about the same thing. Small women lugging around 5 gallons of water at a time is a bit of a recipe for injury. You know, if you’re mechanically inclined at all, you could actually have your 5 gallon bucket elevated slightly, and Bore a hole close to the bottom, on the side closest to it’s easiest access point. You could install a pipe with a valve that operates almost like spigot, so that you can pour off so much of your solution into a smaller bucket that’s easier to handle. You could use that same smaller bucket in several trips to replenish the 5 gallon. Another option is to use a siphon. They’re not hard to make, or for less than 20 bucks, you can pick one up. Even if all you had was one of those that are intended to pump water out of one of those huge plastic water carboys. You could at least syphon it into smaller buckets. They’re probably lots of other ways to do things that are probably more convenient, but that’s just what comes to my mind off the cuff, as I’m thinking about the same problem for my own self. What did you end up doing in the end to solve the problem? It might be a lot easier, more efficient, and less expensive than anything I’ve come up with, and I’d be grateful to know about those.
For larger plants like tomatoes and peppers do you really need larger net cups or could you just do 2" cups for pretty much everything? I understand why bigger net cups help in other hydroponic systems but it seems like for Kratky you could use whatever size you have?
I know this is an old video but I just found your channel and this video and I'm loving your experiments and how approachable you make hydroponics (about to start experimenting with this myself) and growing food! Is there a follow up showing the results for this video? I searched on tomato and did some looking but didn't see one I thought was a direct follow up, so wanted to ask I'd love to see how it turned out!
I had a copyright problem with the music on that video and had to remove it. They all did fairly well but since they were already almost mature plants, it was hard to tell. I may try again with new transplants. Thank you for watching my videos. Happy gardening.
I have just found your video. I like it very much therefore I will start to grow my hydroponic green. So good to share you knowledge with us. Thank you very much.
I am starting to grow dwarf tomatos. Do you have any experience growing them kratky? They are supposed to taste as good as heirloom but are 3 foot max.
With hydroponics do you have to have a pump or can you just use a standard food grade bucket? I'm interested in trying it out but don't want to spend alot of money on it. If I had to use a pump would it be OK to have goldfish in the bucket and use a cheap pump for a fish tank? Just curious about it mostly a raised bed gardener just trying to see if I can get more from my plants through hydroponics.
Hi, if you add fish to the bucket is call aquaponics and is different then hydroponics. May want to do research to see if the nutrients for hydroponics will harm the fish. I’m not familiar with how to do aquaponics.
No, the next few videos have them here and there. The one in the soil did best, still got lots of tomatoes off all of them. Going to do this again this year except with plants I start as seed. These were three I got from a florist and were on clearance. Thanks for watching. Let me know if you have any other questions.
If I am doing this method in late winter and want to try it in my house, and I going to need a grow light, or will sunlight from my big window be enough? Great videos! I am learning alot!
Hey there! I'm new to Hydroponic gardening and only now doing research on this style. I love it but dont know where do being so I'm really thankful for your channel. Could I please ask what nutrients you use exactly? I'm confused with it
@@KeepOnGrowin thank you so much for replying. I ordered the master blend because it is what you suggest and I am extremely new to gardening. I did soil only this year because I couldn’t find anyone to ask questions about the hydroponics. I found your page and stop by regularly. And your “bee the change” affirms with my spirit. I love it!!
I’m interested to start with a non circulating system (tube) to see how I get on. I notice you say you barely need to top up the water. I live in the Caribbean and I’m pretty sure the water will evaporate quickly. Do I just top up with fresh water as and when? Do you think algae will be an issue?
I just bought bulk master blend. Does it . can i use this for tomatoes? Or do i need to buy Master Blend Tomatoe Formula? Whats the differance? Thanks for your response in advance 😊🌿
First off, got me interested in this. Purchased your book today. What is the dark purple color plant at 6:04? I have had one for 4 years and don't even know what it is. It was a tiny stem with roots so I planted it. It does take a lot, I mean a lot of water, it was in a batch of tradescantia cuttings I bought. I have been growing it as a house plant and now I am rooting cuttings to let the mother plant go. I put it outside in growing season. Getting big and woody. Have to cut more off of it today as it looks as it is going to die. Grows so fast. I really want to know what it is and so I ask this same question on Etsy when I got book. I will start with kale in my first try. You have great $$$ saving tips.
Thank you very much! That is red garnet amaranth. If you have amaranth, it will flower and look bushy like a feather duster. The seeds will resemble as small grain when they fall off.
The nft and soil did better than the kratky. The nft roots got too big and clogged my channel, lol. These were mature plants and although the kratky one did good, I think it was too old to transplant to that kind of system.
@@KeepOnGrowin Thank you so much for answering so fast! What du you do when the roots get to big? Can you cut dem down? And is there a minimum of space the plants should have?
Benja's Uber 1337 Hobby Cool, nice to meet you! You have a pretty interesting channel too, I will check out some of your vids tonight when I am through with work. 😎🖒
Thanks a lot for checking out the channel :) Does your dog every stay clean? I would think with that white fur and all that dirt he would have to have a bath every 5 mins :) Thanks for responding :)
It is off to a very slow start :) Really had it up and running 2 or so years ago was getting tomatoes and everything then had a rough few years but trying to get it back up and going :) my biggest issue is not changing the hydro solution out :) I should have some lettuce and tomatoes up and growing soon though :)
@@KeepOnGrowin tip for dog that likes to roll in dirt. After washing him ans he is still damp, spray him down with horse show sheen aka laser sheen and let him dry laying on towel or rug. Make sure he doesn't lay wet on slippery floor or on bath tub or that surface will be extremely dangerous for fall risk cuz it will be coated with the lazer sheen. When the dog is dry, he will smell very good and the dirt will come off very easily. You will just have to brush him off with a soft brush and he'll look like you just bathed him. You'll thank me later.
Take hole saw off the Arbor/pilot bit and drill pilot bit hole first, then put hole saw back on and slowly drill out hole. You will have better control and will not bind up the hole saw.
Appreciate your insight. I am also looking to start a outdoors system, but dont have a power tool. Do you have a way to cut holes without a drill? If not, what do you suggest I do?
I'm loving this, but I'm wondering why buy full grown plants and take them out of their soil.... it seems to defeat the purpose... am I wrong? Wouldn't I want to start with a smaller plant if I'm going to grow hydroponically?
Hi, I live in apartment in Wales, UK just wondering does it matter the brand of seeds? I am very new beginner with hydroponics and watching your videos has inspired me that I can do this for my health and family. Do you know what would be a good grow light I am on a budget. Thank you so much 😁😊
How do you keep rainwater from flooding the container? I did the same thing with 5 gallon buckets and put them in the sunniest place in my yard, which is outside in the front with no trees. But whenever it would rain heavily, rainwater would find it's way into the bucket and either dilute the solution or flood it out so that I had to dump water to keep the air buffer at the top. Is it only the plants leaves that act as an umbrella to divert water? what about the water that pools on the lid?
At what temperature does the water turn into root rot and algae? There is not a water chiller nor is there any aeration stones? Surely this could not work in the Sahara desert. Do you know what the temperature limit to the water is?
Hey Mike, I'm starting seedlings, (1) better boy tomato, (6) bell & jap peppers and (1) zucchini in two gray 5 gallon totes, very similar to the gray 10 gal tote you're using., 4 plants per tote. How much of the roots(how many inches) should be under water and how many inches above the water for air? Figure I'll leave the plants in the 2 small totes until they start flowering, then transplant to individual 5 gal buckets.
Not much of the roots have to be exposed when you first transplant them. As the level drops it will develop air roots, that's when you want to not fill it up all the way and disturb them.
@@KeepOnGrowin Thanks Mike, one more question please. I'm growing some plants in a raised bed and will be feeding them with the Master blend mix. Should I "water" them daily with the MB mix, or should I give them plain water every other day,? MB twice a week maybe? I don't want too much salt saturation in the bed. Thanks again for your help, David
Thanks so much for your videos! I am a newbie. Watched the video on the 5 things needed to get started. Ordered the Masterblend. Do I also need to get calcium nitrate and epsom salt?
No, Miracle Gro and other traditional fertilizers usually just have your NPK, a lot of other stuff is already inyour soil that is lacking in water. You can find links in the description of my videos to my Amazon store. Let me know if you have trouble and I will post it.
I would give my expertise on the look of these, and say that they are indeterminate. They will still throw side shoot suckers that you can use as cuttings. Loving my Bok Choy here,,had some Baby leaf in my noodles today,,, Looking forward to more vids and whatever you throw at us. All the best Marty ps: I haven't seen you grow any Khangkong yet,,you got some growing Mike? It would be a perfect plant for your setup.
martysgarden Really appreciate the support Marty. Hydro gardening is just a small part of who I am. Indeterminate would be great, I don't have time to string and train these buggers, lol. Thanks much brother! 😎🤘
ps: I honestly never heard of the Khangkong, had to go watch your video on it. That looks awesome, going to see if I can get some seed here when I order some watercress. Thanks for turning me onto that!
Just means you have to keep planting more, as they only fruit for a short time. You can vine a determinate along your rail and let it hang down too,,,may help for continual harvest. Looking forward to your new vids and direction,,cheers Marty
@@KeepOnGrowin Determinate means they ripen basically all at the same time, indeterminate means they have no 'determined' fruiting period. It has nothing to do with whether they grow bushy or if you prune to single stem. But with determinate varieties, you would not want to prune to single stem for obvious reason that you are cutting off growth that will produce tomatoes.
Look forward to see them love maters growing Mike. I enjoy the community and making friends here as well. Video is very nice and thanks for sharing your thoughts and future plans. :O)
Yes. But not always Solution Culture (Kratky, DWC, SWC) although I have done that too as you've demonstrated. Most of the time, I grow in a modified Drip System.
TheClosedpalm I usually leave a plant out of one and just put an empty insert. That way I have a place to check and add nutrients. My small downspout with just 5 holes, I just lift up on it and can feel if it is almost empty. Like you said, just remove one plant and add through that hole. T bffgank you for watching and commenting
Those are nasty little buggers. I trim the plant where most of them are and take it far from the garden. I try to knock the rest off. I have not had any success with the soapy water. If anyone has some suggestions, I would love to hear some.
@@KeepOnGrowin Organic Neem oil & water ( 2ml per 1L or 7ml per galon) (mixed with or without a dash of soap, soap helps mix it but its user preference) keeps most insects at bay.
Hi, nice videos. Is there selenium in the minerals? In soils with low or no selenium, people get hidden cardiomyopathy. For hydroponics, have you seen any plant supplement of selenium? Thanks
why does everyone comment drill in reverse i've never had an issue drilling in forward if its sharp and tight you can go nice and easy and not a single issue of it grabbing just take your time and let it drill and cut on its own without pushing on the drill
Not everyone is going to take it nice and easy. Not everyone's bits are sharp. If they don't hold firmly enough, it will bite and get away from them. Very little chance of that going in reverse. Not everyone is handy with power tools. If you are proficient enough, have at it. I do it to but don't recommend it for beginners. Better to be safe tham sorry.🖒
Also i am really intersted to know how does your mint look so healthy ... my mint plant bears long shoots and very small leaves... aah am so bad at growing mint
You're gutter plants would get bigger with air...you could slip an air tube between one of tubes and plug it into an AIR pump. Very simple no maintenance. No air is the only hindrance to the kratke production.
Yep, no doubt it would work better. We are starting with the cheapest and easiest ways to grow, low maintenance. Sooner or later the air stones fail or clog, some people don't want to mess with all that, but it does have advantages. Thanks for the input.
I’m just getting started, and actually have picked up some young tomato plants with the intention of doing this with at least one of them. I also have a bunch of seeds sprouting right now, with the intention of doing some hydroponics. Super exciting. Can anybody tell me if these plants did OK in the end? This looks like the last of the videos and the playlist. I will go through them, but I don’t know if I’m gonna be able to get through them quickly enough. Edit: found the answer. Boy did they ever do well! Thank you very much for the tutorial. Now all I have to do is find the one where you start heirloom seeds on those egg carton pads. Cause I’d like to try that too while we still have summer, before it gets too hot. :-) Thank you very much, Mike! Edit: Yep. I found the video, or videos that show the progress of this plant over time. Boy, did it ever do OK! That’s downright abrasive. I guess you know what I’m gonna do this afternoon.;D
Trimming is usually ok. When they talk about damaging the roots, it usually means the entire root system suffers. If you trim healthy roots, they still work while new roots are growing. If all of the roots are bad, the plant suffers as it tries to grow new roots and may eventually die.
It seems to me that there is no need for an electrically operated pump to be running all day, everyday. Couldn't someone just manually pour the nutrient water into a funnel on the high side of the system until the old water drained out of the system into a bucket on the low side? If so, how often would this water exchange need to be done? If those in power choose to "turn out the lights", this method might be the only choice we have.
The reason I use this method is so that I don't have to go out there every day. In the heat of summer, someone would have to do that several times a day.
Yes, and never fill it completely back up. The empty moist space let in the container is where the roots absorb oxygen. Water spinach is the only plant I found that can take being flooded like that after the water level starts to drop.
Still taste like a tomato to me. I think there is nothing like a vine ripe soil grown tomato, however the hydroponic ones still beat the pants off of any you get in the supermarket.
@@KeepOnGrowin that what I wanted to hear lol I bought some and they had NO TASTE what so ever. I also grew some in a pot but got really busy and didnt keep up with it thank you

Dont know if you tried this or not but it seems like you could install downward facing tees with a capped pipe going downwards for the long roots to grow into. This could reduce or eliminate blocking the flow pipes
I also keep the Subway salad containers. They make good seed starters.
Great idea! 😎🖒🌱
You are very inspiring . I am surely going to try this season in Canada .
Try dwarf verities, i had good results on my window with dwarf tomatoes. i grew red robins but didn't like them as much for they were a bit to acidic for my taste now I'm trying to sprout some Tiny Tim for i hear they are sweet.
If it wasn't for you, I would have Never started in Hydroponics! Thank you so very much!!
Awesome! Thank you donna, you rock! Happy gardening!
Suckers from tomatoes plants can make some great clones in your hydro system!
With the masterblend, you gotta keep those chemicals separate until they dissolve in water, then you can combine. Or so I've heard.
🐶 we love tomatoes! Thanks for sharing
Farm Life Oregon Thanks for watching! Going to check your channel, always curious about Oregon. Have an awesome weekend!
Is there a part 2 to this that shows the results?
Hi Mike. Who could ever get bored with you?
Haha, thanks Betty! 😃💚🌱🌱
Am loving hydroponics.
I've adapted from using soil since I like to grow indoors.
Frustrating changing water in my 5 gallon bucket.
It's so heavy 😫
Yeah, hydro is awesome! You are right, large containers can be a pain.
I just change out in a separate bucket.
Drawbacks of hydro.
I don't like soil.
It's so messy
Just found you. This would be so good for seniors and inner city folks. Love the recycle and experimenting too. Thanks
Molly Leonard Thank you! We are going to try to introduce this to more people like that this year.
Can you please make a video of the nutrients you use, how much, and how often
ruclips.net/video/SaN6Dlf2hCg/видео.html
For larger plants like tomatoes and peppers do you really need larger net cups or could you just do 2" cups for pretty much everything? I understand why bigger net cups help in other hydroponic systems but it seems like for Kratky you could use whatever size you have?
Yes, you could use the smaller. I have about 50 of the 3" net cups from years ago and am still trying to make use of them.
Make the holder tighter and you don't need the cup
Thank you and I appreciate your interest. Have an awesome day!
I am starting to grow dwarf tomatos. Do you have any experience growing them kratky? They are supposed to taste as good as heirloom but are 3 foot max.
The smaller varieties are easier to grow in the Kratky systems.
Very informative thank you
I just got maxigrow hydroponics nutrients will this grow tomatoes in bell peppers in Stuff like that
I love you so much because of your videos thankies 🥰🤗
Thank you Olly, that made my day!! 😎✌❤
I've learned a lot here and I'm looking forward to your new content.
Thank you Caroline😎🌱🌱🌱
Do you use a rainwater catchment system to use rainwater for the plants or just city water?
city water
what was the end result in regards to growing tomatoes three ways? was the soil best, Kratky method or traditional nft system?
Soil, NFT and then Kratky. All about the same though. The update video got taken down because of music. Sorry.
Love you posts and sharings, bro. 🥰🥰🥰
have you tried electroculture on your hydroponics and kratky system?
Not yet, my channel is cheap and easy and copper price is high. I may test a few.
Hi just found your channel and loving it. Is there an update on the three different ways of growing tomatoes.
No, the next few videos have them here and there. The one in the soil did best, still got lots of tomatoes off all of them. Going to do this again this year except with plants I start as seed. These were three I got from a florist and were on clearance. Thanks for watching. Let me know if you have any other questions.
I'm in a really hot place. Do you think if I did NFT and made some kind of sunblock for the pipes it would stay cool enough ?
If I am doing this method in late winter and want to try it in my house, and I going to need a grow light, or will sunlight from my big window be enough?
Great videos! I am learning alot!
Thank you Leslie😎🤘 You may need a light, depends on how much and how long the sunlight hits the window.
Hey there! I'm new to Hydroponic gardening and only now doing research on this style. I love it but dont know where do being so I'm really thankful for your channel. Could I please ask what nutrients you use exactly? I'm confused with it
Cool, I try to keep it easy here. I use Masterblend mixed with calcium nitrate and epsom salt.
Hi from Australia, can you send me a plan of your system. I'm just starting hydroponics
Nice, so simple! Thanks!
Thank you too!
Good job. What is the name of the collar you are using? Which hardware shop section is it located?
It is a piece of a pool noodle. 😎🖒🌱
Sir give some information about nutrients,
Which nutrients can I use and how to mix that
Check my video that says Growing 240 plants in 4 sq ft. 😎🤘

Hi search in your playlist but I can't find
So do you grow your hydroponics outside year round? I know you mentioned that you are in Florida and the weather is similar here in Alabama.
Yes, very seldom we have a hard freeze that lasts for days.
Yes, I am actually using the tomato formula for everything you see on my channel.
Hi Mike do you have any videos to show how you make your drain containers?
Hey, thank you for your videos! I lern a lot. What were your results of this experiment?
The nft and soil did better than the kratky. The nft roots got too big and clogged my channel, lol. These were mature plants and although the kratky one did good, I think it was too old to transplant to that kind of system.
@@KeepOnGrowin Thank you so much for answering so fast! What du you do when the roots get to big? Can you cut dem down? And is there a minimum of space the plants should have?
Thank you for the reply. Your information channel is so helpful. Grateful
Appreciate you watching.
Thank you for the knowledge. I wish I could give this video more than 1 like!
Thank you, that is more than enough! I appreciate you!! 😎🖒
I have plenty of those bins. They are not food grade. Would that be ok?

Thanks, there is plenty more great stuff on my channel. Happy growing!!
New sub I liked your video. I use the Kratky system too :) I can't wait to see how these 3 differ in growth :) Thank you so much for sharing :)
Haha, no, she loves to roll in the dirt. Thanks for stopping by. How is your Kratky hydroponics coming?
Awesome tip!
Where can I see the results of this tomato experiment?
Appreciate your insight. I am also looking to start a outdoors system, but dont have a power tool. Do you have a way to cut holes without a drill? If not, what do you suggest I do?
Do you have a dremel tool, those work too.🖒
Can you post the results? Did the Kratky plant get too hot or was it fruitful? Thanks, I'm learning a lot.
Sorry, just saw you responded that they all worked. I vote for a video of the results.
I'm loving this, but I'm wondering why buy full grown plants and take them out of their soil.... it seems to defeat the purpose... am I wrong? Wouldn't I want to start with a smaller plant if I'm going to grow hydroponically?
Hence the word "experiment", it's also 5 years old.
Hi, I live in apartment in Wales, UK just wondering does it matter the brand of seeds? I am very new beginner with hydroponics and watching your videos has inspired me that I can do this for my health and family. Do you know what would be a good grow light I am on a budget. Thank you so much 😁😊
Depends. Sometimes cheaper isn't always better. Best to experiment with small amounts. I would look for LED shop lights to start off with.
Drill a hole at the maximum height you want the water to be.
At what temperature does the water turn into root rot and algae? There is not a water chiller nor is there any aeration stones? Surely this could not work in the Sahara desert. Do you know what the temperature limit to the water is?
Very cool.
Thanks, and fun.
where do you live to have all these systems outdoors?
Florida
Drill a tap hole, then drill it in reverse .. will go alot easier
Yes, there is a link for calcium nitrate and the epsom salt you can get at a drugstore.
Can miracle grow be used in place of your mixer or if not where do I buy what you use? What is in mixer again?
No, Miracle Gro and other traditional fertilizers usually just have your NPK, a lot of other stuff is already inyour soil that is lacking in water. You can find links in the description of my videos to my Amazon store. Let me know if you have trouble and I will post it.
I would give my expertise on the look of these, and say that they are indeterminate. They will still throw side shoot suckers that you can use as cuttings.
Loving my Bok Choy here,,had some Baby leaf in my noodles today,,,
Looking forward to more vids and whatever you throw at us.
All the best

ps: I haven't seen you grow any Khangkong yet,,you got some growing Mike? It would be a perfect plant for your setup.
martysgarden Really appreciate the support Marty. Hydro gardening is just a small part of who I am. Indeterminate would be great, I don't have time to string and train these buggers, lol. Thanks much brother! 😎🤘
ps: I honestly never heard of the Khangkong, had to go watch your video on it. That looks awesome, going to see if I can get some seed here when I order some watercress. Thanks for turning me onto that!
Hi Mike, that's great that you now know about it now. I love this plant. It will go nuts in your hydroponics,,YEW!
Just means you have to keep planting more, as they only fruit for a short time.
You can vine a determinate along your rail and let it hang down too,,,may help for continual harvest. Looking forward to your new vids and direction,,cheers
Marty
@@KeepOnGrowin Determinate means they ripen basically all at the same time, indeterminate means they have no 'determined' fruiting period. It has nothing to do with whether they grow bushy or if you prune to single stem. But with determinate varieties, you would not want to prune to single stem for obvious reason that you are cutting off growth that will produce tomatoes.
Look forward to see them love maters growing Mike. I enjoy the community and making friends here as well. Video is very nice and thanks for sharing your thoughts and future plans. :O)
Hydroponic Gardening & More with Brent Thanks brother, love the community too!
Grew some tomatoes last year, got a small yield in the Kratky. Do you grow them in hydroponics?
Yes. But not always Solution Culture (Kratky, DWC, SWC) although I have done that too as you've demonstrated. Most of the time, I grow in a modified Drip System.
Cool, I honestly think that is a better way.
:O)
Surround your filter and pump with a pair of women's hosiery. I Learned that the hard way.. Had to buy a New Water and Air Pump
Thnaks, great tip.
do you have a system for checking the water level in your downpipe planters or do you just remove a plant to see?
TheClosedpalm I usually leave a plant out of one and just put an empty insert. That way I have a place to check and add nutrients. My small downspout with just 5 holes, I just lift up on it and can feel if it is almost empty. Like you said, just remove one plant and add through that hole. T bffgank you for watching and commenting
This video is so great!
Thank You, glad you enjoyed it.
Hi, Mike. Did you make a video showing the results of the tomato 3 way? I can't seem to find one.
I did but deleted it because of music, then I lost the raw footage when my laptop died, ugh. May have to try it again, sorry.
Mike how do you deal with aphids???? They are driving me crazy on my back porch. Enclosed pool area. Larry
Those are nasty little buggers. I trim the plant where most of them are and take it far from the garden. I try to knock the rest off. I have not had any success with the soapy water. If anyone has some suggestions, I would love to hear some.

Mike VanDuzee,I did find a thing with sodium selenite, but it’s worm food. Might foul the water.
@@kyststudio-epicartadventure yes, probably with it being static and non circulating.

Yes and curly kale!
Now that a new season is beginning will you repeat this experiment.....please?
Yes, I will.
why does everyone comment drill in reverse i've never had an issue drilling in forward if its sharp and tight you can go nice and easy and not a single issue of it grabbing just take your time and let it drill and cut on its own without pushing on the drill
Where'S the update video for the tomato growing?
Taken down for music

Also i am really intersted to know how does your mint look so healthy ... my mint plant bears long shoots and very small leaves... aah am so bad at growing mint
Those shoots with the tiny leaves are runners. They will root and make more plants. Make sure the nutrient solution is not getting too warm.

How are you folding the ends of the drain tube to hold water ?? And what size do you cut the holes?? Thank You

Mike VanDuzee I can’t wait to get out and do it ..
if the root block the pipe, doesn't it block the food to the other plants too?
Yes I harvedt before that or pull the plant ip and trim the roots.
Thank you very much, Mike!
Edit: Yep. I found the video, or videos that show the progress of this plant over time. Boy, did it ever do OK! That’s downright abrasive.
I guess you know what I’m gonna do this afternoon.;D
How long does it take to tomatoes to grow?
For the measurements of 20/20/10, what is the ppm I would aim for? I wasnt tp try this but with a larger bin.
I never use meters. I ise 22g/12g/6g per 5 hallons of water.
@@KeepOnGrowin per 5 gallons? Wasnt this a 10 gallon tote that you used
I don’t understand when people say don’t damage the roots, but then other times people just trim roots ?? How does it work
Trimming is usually ok.
@@KeepOnGrowin Can you run your pumps on DC power just in case?
Is the fertilizer dose same for all the different crop plants?
I grow mostly leafy greens and a few root vegetables so I always have some of this mixed up. I just use it here too.
@@KeepOnGrowin can u suggest me a dose of nutritient solution for raising tomatoes
The Masterblend is actually a tomato fertilizer. 12g/12g/6g per 5gallons of water
If you allow, do you want to change the water?
After the level drops, I refill it 1/2 way to 3/4 way back up. I rarely ever do a total change.
@@KeepOnGrowin thank you for your reply, i understand from you rarely to change water, just u increase water
Yes, and never fill it completely back up. The empty moist space let in the container is where the roots absorb oxygen. Water spinach is the only plant I found that can take being flooded like that after the water level starts to drop.
nice tomatoes 😊👍👍
Thank you very much 😎✌
Does it have to tomato taste?? Some say I will not bc the soil helps with giving veggies their taste 🤔🤔
