    Man I just love your house so much and especially the outside which of course is what we see usually what a great place! I live in Los Angeles and an 800 square-foot house and definitely not that kind of driveway! I don’t like the cold but then I think I move somewhere cold to have a house like that!!!! And a pool!!! My dream house!! Much love!

    I love your style of training. Very authentic, I prefer your videos over any other commercialized trainer tips. I like your methods and I've been using them with my pup since he was 10 weeks. Now he's about 6 months, fully outdoor trained, so well behaved, happy in his crate etc. Thanks to you Sir!

    Thanks, Larry this has helped me tremendously. Bringing home a puppy is stressful and training is even more stressful. There’s just so many questions when having a puppy, so this is just so helpful. Having someone train your dog cost a lot and learning to do these things step by step is so crucial for a puppy’s development in training. Just wanted to Thank you a lot.

Great work you’re doing, I’m learning all I can from you & Tom Davis to pursue my passion of dog training.💙

    Hey Larry! I just got an 8 week old GDS/Lab mix-he's 9 weeks old now, since I've had him for a week, and your videos are my bible at this point. Of all the trainers on RUclips I like you the best-by far (though there is a local trainer that came highly recommended who I will have work with Mace when he's a little older). But I have a couple of questions:
    How long to you keep doing this type of training (rewarding effort, helping them think, etc.)? What do you work on next (what is the next step in training, and when do you start it)?
    I've been working on these things, and he's getting it...I can see that he's thinking, and even more fun is that he enjoys the work. (I've also started working on the "sit", "look"-make eye contact-, the "out"-using your food based method- and "heel"-just walking beside me...and he's doing so good on the leash. Am I throwing to many things at him?)
    Also, any pointers for working with the puppy lack of attention? What about expectations? How much progress is good enough?
    I wish you were closer-I'm in Utah-or that I had the money to send Mace out to you...

    Why does my eight week old pup always just want to go out and roll around on the grass and lay there most of the time. She will run with me here in there but I’m always wanting to talk her with the leash constantly to get her up and going. She’s not sick she’s healthy.

    What do you do once the puppy seems to want to explore and check out other things. My new puppy just brought him home a few days ago will follow quite a bit. But then he gets independent and starts sniffing around. How do i get him to engage with me again? I have him off leash for now but theres a road nearby so i need him to start coming when calling. Thanks so much for the awesome videos!

    I have a question that is off topic compared to this video, but it was the most recent one so I was hoping for a quicker response... When using the e-collar training and it is going well, do you use E-collar for other things such as place, touch, etc.? I figured if the dog has learned that the e-collar practically means "come" then will they be confused when using the collar for other things? Thanks so much!!

    Larry, how do you prevent your dogs from being afraid of thunder, fireworks, and gunshot?

    • @kaydabot9368
      @kaydabot9368 4 года назад

      Look up dog desensitization sounds here on RUclips. There is a playlist with all types of sounds. Start immediately when they’re a puppy by playing it randomly while they’re eating or playing to create a positive association with the sounds and they will eventually get used to it. Once they ignore it begin to play it while they’re sleeping or relaxing. As long as they see you calm and relaxed they will copy that energy. Start with it at a lower volume and eventually increase it.

    How and when do you start the "free dog" release command with a puppy?

  • @Bornmong
    @Bornmong 5 лет назад

    When do you start giving the command?

  • @mayaportland8805
    @mayaportland8805 6 лет назад

    how is "place" and "spread them" commands useful in real life situations?
    I want to train my puppy, but I need to make sure I understand what's the purpose of any command.

    • @amidgetonamoped8637
      @amidgetonamoped8637 6 лет назад +1

      is this a serious question? The spread'em is more of a cute trick, however i could see it being a baseline for teaching your dog how to get things from high places (think service dog for people with disabilities, NOT your typical poorly trained "counter surfing dog") - and second, place is probably the greatest command there is. When your dog is anxiously wandering around the house, or is doing something he isn't supposed to, or if you're eating and don't want to be bothered... the PLACE command is what gives the dog direction and a PLACE TO GO. "I don't want you here, I want you there"... People coming over and are standing at your door?- PLACE. Dog begging for food while you eat?-- PLACE. everyone in the house is trying to relax and watch a movie but doggo wants attention, and is not allowed on the furniture?-- PLACE. Need to go into the other room and don't want your dog stealing socks out of the laundry basket?- PLACE......I really hope your comment isn't as condescending as I read it to be...

      I right now have a reserve on a puppy that hasn't been born yet. I will drive near 300 miles to get him when he is ready. It was the breeder I found and I liked their ethics.

    • @cypherknot
      @cypherknot 6 лет назад

      Reputable breeders ask you questions to see if you are suitable. If you give an answer that violates a criterion or excludes you they won't sell you a puppy.
