What is purpose of rope connected at front when you are going uphill halfway through clip. Is that due to how steep hill is, or perhaps to help keep front end down on that part of the slope? Looks like very cool job, beautiful scenery every day! Building at top looks familiar from a Bond movie?

Cable for winch. For steep slope as you guessed.

Not very fast, maybe 15km/h or so, thwy arent meant to go fast. They are meant to have lots of torque to push and also run all the hydraulics, etc
