"Tell your friends we're coming for them" I thought Shepard was talking about a rescue mission against all odds. Instead, she's referring to reaper genocide (which is way more badass).
FemShep will go down as one of the best vocal performances in modern gaming history. She just does such a good job making this character personable and you're able to relate. There's A LOT more nuance and inflection in Jennifer Hale's performance than Mark Meers. I have nothing against Male Shep. I play both genders in the trilogy, but my heart is always gonna prefer femshep just for the amazing voice acting. The only thing I didn't like was the direction they went for the generic female shepard in ME3. I thought that her looks looked better on a Revlon box than in a Mass Effect game. She looked pretty good in the trailers but over the top eyeliner/eye shadow and the lip liner kinda feels a little weird in this kinda game. I can make a custom shepard that looks better anyway so it's not a huge deal lol.
Hoenstly, I give props to Mark for all his work on the series, in that people seemed to enjoy it... but I've never heard his work outside a video or blasto or the varren... So I can't say if his work is great or adequate, I gather that it was and again some people liked it. I have no opinion. BUT Jennifer Hale... brought it. I never felt the need to go back and play manshep, because what Jennifer brought to the table was a masterwork in voice acting. Nuance, inflection, tone.. she made you feel it and she made you buy in. ANd frankly Jennider Hale's Commander Shepard lives rent free in my head. If you are looking for a female protagonist, someone to look up to? Accept no substitutes.
9 years ago, I was one of those who tried advocated to recognize Femshep as equal as Broshep. We ever sent a huge jar of cookies to the devs the summer before ME3 was released! At the end, a handful of us got the privilege to watch this trailer before everyone does, imagine how happy and excited we watched it! 9 years now, we got the remastered version of ME and everything kicks back just like the day it was released. I sure wish to see more ME universe game in the future, and hopefully as good as this Trilogy.
Mark Meer's a great guy and a fantastic voice actor. (He did all the Vorcha, Hannar, Elcor, etc). Still femshep's the only Shep. Hat's off to both Mark and Jennifer Hale!
It would have been better if we saw a bit more of the crew and not just slideshows, but I actually liked the three choices at the end (even if it's very sad that Shepard has to sacrifice herself/himself in almost every one) and the fact that it wasn't all ''happy''.
Has nothing to do with the ending being "bittersweet". The ending was bad writing at its finest. It was and forever will be a pile of stinky dog shit, that ran over 5 years of expectations. There was nothing "Mass Effect" about the last couple hours of that game and THAT was the problem.
+Thirty-eight no. it's him. when Miranda throws her father out the window. when the camera pans from Miranda to her father. male shepard is in the background
2017 nearly 2018 still coming here to watch this masterpiece, still get chills down my spine, still get teary eyes. THE BEST TRIOLOGY EVER. Shame on you BIOWARE for Andromeda!
@N7 Raven For the most part he is. That's why he's been in most promotional materisl and is preferred by 82% of players. It's you who can't handle the truth. Femshep isn't terrible, Maleshep is just vastly better.
"This isn't about strategy or tactics. This is about survival." --Shepard It's a good thing intelligence is not a stat in Mass Effect. Shepard lets her fists do the thinking.
LoL. I was commenting on the bad writing, not the likely intelligence stat of Shepard. Please read carefully in the future. The internet is a nasty place.
Hale did an absolute fantastic job. I watched my husband play through as MShep and I couldn't help but notice the lack of enthusiasm and emotion in the lines delivered by Mark Meer.
I met Jennifer Hale yesterday at Lvl Up Expo in Vegas. Got her to sign both my Collector's Edition and Standard Edition copies of ME3 and she took a few selfies with me. I'm still glowing after meeting her. She's really nice. If you have Twitter or Instagram, you can check them out. Same name as my RUclips.
How is this possible? RUclips launched 60fps feature only at summer 2014, with Battlefield Hardline E3 videos being the first once with 60 fps on youtube. Yet this video is more than 2 years older than BF:H and it have it too.
It is thanks to him/her that Sovereign was killed so quickly, as it was Saren's destruction that stunned Sovereign and lowered it's shield. So Shepard had a giant part to play in that killing as well.
So sad the ending destroyed it all. LEt me summarize it: "Hello Commander Sheppard. Here is the Deux Ex Machina ending plot. Please select an option: a) Save the universe. b) Save the universe but cripple it out c) Destroy the universe. Good game, commander" If it wasn´t for that... what a great game fucked of in the very end.
You are probably right. But I was so annoyed with the ending that I didn want to play again ME saga. I really was thinking on restarting it from the beginning... but no. Sorry, I can't go through that ending again.
+M. Volgrand if you have the PC version you could mod the game to have a different like: the MEHEM mod which erases the starchild and has joker evacuating Shepard (not necessarily joker but the soldiers from the normandy )
That would have had a lot more sense than the child. In my game, Tali died in her home planet -I didn manage to save both the quarians and the geth, and I chose the Geth-. It would have been a lot more shocking that it was her who appeared to evaluate my actions.
M. Volgrand Yeah like in the leviathan DLC where the leviathan could appear as certain people it would have been awesome if they showed every me2 squad member that died like thane , mordin, tali and legion would have been creepy and an awesome decision.
***** I play as Broshep, but I support equality. They both have great lines, and while sometimes Mark/Jennifer will do better on certain lines, what I love is how they have the option to play as another gender. I love playing as Broshep, but what makes it even better is know there's another side of the coin, and that I can play Femshep if I feel like it.
@TechJunkieReviewer Because we're given the choice of variety and gamers shouldn't be segregated from making any specific choice with character customisation. Playing as Femshep opens up a lot of new directions in the narrative.
@TheCraftingTheory Mass effect is a series where every choice you make (which there are many of!) impact you. With a great combat system and literally thousands of different outcomes. From the first game you create your character his/her choices carry on to the next game and every little thing adds up to what Mass Effect 3 is. I could go on but, that is what is so great about this series. :)
I feel bad for the people who has only played as BroShep and never experienced FemShep. Jennifer Hale is a much better voice actor. (And if you wonder yes I have played as both)
I love that line "Tell your friends we're coming for them!" - makes me shiver each time. Bit like the Doctor saying "Run". (What's the music used in the trailer BTW anyone know?)
@Kuchenklau She is...for a limited period (couple of missions) They all are. Even Kirrahe "hold the line" from mass effect 1 and Wrex are going to be squad mates. This is the last game so they want to end to include everyone. Liara is back (thank God!)
no that's 75 people who can see past the ending, you have to admit the mass effect series up until the (original) last 20 minutes or so was purely amazing, and now the extended although not perfect is pretty well done.
I have an eye for detail :) That is something that is needed when playing the Mass Effect series as this game is incredabely detailed. Playing Mass effect without paying attention to detail would be like reading every 2 pages of a book instead of every page and thus you would miss half the book. Being a Game Developer especially for a game like this would require tremendous attention to detail. Im studying to be a Games Developer in University :)
@TAfTfilms Does it exist or is that what you are hoping for... because I haven't finished it yet. but have been told about the surroundings and text dialogue with various character interactions... still If it exist I want it
The official story of Shepard is most likely over (regardless of whether or not she 'survives'). There will be some more downloadable content, though. Having said that, we can expect new games which will take place in the ME universe (either in the past or future; probably in the future as there isn't much space left for a prequel [trilogy], unless BW doesn't include humans). I think we need to wait for an official announcement at the next E3.
@cutiepe2ce Which he are you talking about? Udina isn't military, and if you're talking about Anderson... I know, hence 'better things to do then stand on a podium'
There's plenty of room in the Mass Effect universe for other protagonists than Commander Shepard, and I think that anyone who says they aren't interested in what other stories might have taken place in the world of ME hasn't actually played the games. It wouldn't even have to take place during/after the games (though the default backgrounds if you don't import a save show that they could "assume" things if it's after), there's been interesting stuff before the reapers. I know I'd watch it.
I'm very upset that I forget the name of the woman who does female Shep's voice, but wow...that woman DESERVES some recognition. She REALLY contributes to the overall 'amazingness' to female Shepard. Hands down.
I understand and agree to a point. I understand the intent of what was being said but perhaps it could've been phrased better is all. The most glaring is talking to the dying Reaper on Ranoch an how what they're doing "is not a thing we can understand" or whatever or talking to Star Brat on the Citadel and that killing us all and turning us into Reapers to keep us from making AI which will kill us somehow even though I made peace between the Geth and Quarians.... *mind explodes*
Please show me where you saw this because I go on Bioware's message boards every day and no such thing has been stated. In fact it's quite the opposite, ME3 was the last Mass Effect concerning Shepard but not the last Mass Effect game. Seriously do you think EA wouldn't try and continue to profit from one of it's most popular series? My guess is the next games will take place either before Mass Effect 1 or after ME3 when the species are back to where they were technologicaly.
First of all because a game is not just about its ending, and a lot of people actually didn't hate the ending, people actually liked it. Plus now with the extended cut it is even better.
Since youtube won't allow link postings, go search "Mass Effect 3 Gameplay Playthrough Walkthrough - Part 28 - Tuchanka: Turian Platoon" and go to 07:15. There's your magical harvester.
@RevertToLastSave I concur. It's funny, that you say that about renegade though. (Still playing the first one), I set her as an Earthbound Ruthless but tend to play her as a mostly level headed paragon who's usually more compassionate and understanding and only gets rough or cold either to keep her subordinates from getting to soft or when shit has gotten beyond real. Ever since Kaiden died during the assault on Saren's base however, I've immediately noticed her getting darker.
100% agree. Female Shepard is so much more interesting just as a character. Plus, i think her voice acting (provided by Hale) is a lot better, personally, and she does an amazing job bringing the character to life.
Listen here: If you have the Digital version on Origin, you must change your IP adress to one from Asia and do the release date check. If you do you can play the game tomorrow at 16:00!
03.01.21 И я всё ещё с Шепардом. Эта игра уже не отпустит меня до самой смерти. Я только надеюсь что создатели четвёртой части отнесутся к этой вселенной с той же любовью и почтением что и все мы. "On second thought, I'll tell 'em myself!"

imagine something like that coming from Ryder lmao
Femshep freaking owns it as a Heroine. She's on ellen ripple's level for sure. Pure epic awesome.

I like both Male and Female Shepards, but Fem!Shep is awesome to listen to during Persuasion and Intimidation Checks.
it's 2019, and i still coming here for these mass effect trilogy epic trailers
"Tell your friends we're coming for them."
Jennifer Hale is best! Butterface Ryder no compare.
