Let's talk about vinyl chloride.
How do people get exposed to vinyl chloride?
First of all, you need to know that vinyl chloride often started out as a different chemical, sometimes TCE or PCE, and then in the environment, those chemicals went through a process called degradation, and over time became vinyl chloride. This typically happened near factories or at landfills where TCE or PCE was dumped and allowed to bleed into the soil and degrade into vinyl chloride. The vinyl chloride migrates down into the groundwater and that's where it becomes a problem for human beings. If that groundwater is the source of a family's water supply, for example if the family has a private well, then vinyl chloride is in the water coming out of their kitchen tap and their shower head. If the water has vinyl chloride in it, then the family is being exposed to this dangerous chemical. There is another way that vinyl chloride in groundwater can be a problem. Vinyl chloride is a volatile organic compound, which means that it turns into a vapor, and when it does, the vapor seeps back up through the soil, through tiny foundation cracks and into the air inside homes. It's colorless and odorless so people will not even know they are breathing vinyl chloride.
What are the health effects of vinyl chloride?
Most importantly, you need to know that there is no safe level of vinyl chloride. Every serious scientific organization that I know of that has studied its health effects, has concluded that vinyl chloride is a known carcinogen in human beings. Medical studies show that it causes cancer, principally liver cancer, brain cancer, lung cancer and blood cancers like lymphoma and leukemia. It also disrupts our immune system, especially in children, which makes it very dangerous. The bottom line is: If you suspect or know that there is vinyl chloride in your home or air or water, you need to do everything you can to eliminate this threat to your family.

@Turbo Jones it's synthetic, but apparently connects with water. So anywhere... water vapor in the air as gas or liquid in water. Idk if the water cycle even filters it out. I think it turns into acid rain at that point.
