I don't think it was about the character being of black origin representing the Japanese culture. Yasuke was a culturally trained Samurai who honored and lived by its code. Him being black wasn't the issue. The issue was that Ubisoft wanted to portray him as being gay. And that was a direct insult to not only the Samurai but the Japanese culture and history as a whole.

Hi iDentity. What I actually think they are doing with TD2 right now is simply testing models and mechanics for The Division 3. They will do this rather than giving us an early access and listening to the community through that phase, which is actually the best way to build a game and community, just look at Larian and Baldur's Gate 3. Similar to Sears, but not entirely, ubisoft needs to figure out if its a gaming company that makes games for the passion of developing games for its customer base. So then sears declined badly. Ubi needs to take a step back and really figure themselves out and what they value most. Because if they choose the stock markets then they shouldnt be in gaming anymore and they should spin out the studios under their management so those studios can develop and cater to the gamer base.
automatic rifles... classic old destiny dev trick. when something was accidentally OP in destiny 2 the devs would work on the patch and either disable it if it was being used in pvp too much or tell players to enjoy it until the next patch because they gotta fix it. of course such things were often disabled for the worlds first raid races. the best example was when players found a way to get 12 player raids, and activities. everyone had a month of fun with the devs treating it as a test to see if the servers could handle so many players in a raid. ubisoft and massive screwed up div 2 and the first dlc for it so badly. one way world tier systems deterred players like me from completing all strongholds in endgame in case we couldnt deal with the new world tier and just got one shot all the time. that was a real fear when you can't drop back down a tier anymore by choice. there was nothing wrong with div 1 tiers except that some players wanted more difficulty so wt 5 to 10. others kept saying it was too easy (for THEM with their absence of willpower) to drop down if things got tough. that was a THEM problem - but massive went and 'fixed' the lack of willpower by one way tiers - related, the imprisonment of agents in new york dlc still isnt patched out. i have an agent out there who has shd watch but it still says level 40 not shd level because keener mission isnt done. the least fun encounter i ever came across in 45 plus years of playing games. 50 years. whats the point being an agent if the dlc boss can just make using your gadgets a bad idea? might as well just turn the game into a strange version of CoD. the worst was the darkzone in washington. originally supposed to wrap round the map, ubi made massive cut it to current form because pvpers complained the manhattan dz was too big for them to chase down agents not interested in pvp. the result? only a few players ever went in, and most like me avoided it due to the constant ganking of low levels by higher and the fact you couldnt level dz because of the loss of xp mechanic. they even put conflict in game because the dz only worked for certain pvp groups of agents. it would have helped if they removed the xp loss thing, maybe i would have kept trying but never getting past level one there wasnt any point. i finished the campaign when i bought it, stopped trying dz since i prefer pve and then left. same thing with new york dlc - got discouraged by keener fight and deleted the agent stuck there, played other games and because that dlc failed, ubi cancelled the next and put the majority of the dev team on something else. 6 years of near abandonment on one of its best IP due to catastrophic errors of judgment in design and add in some ubi exec survival game extremist trying to force survival mechanics on every shooter they could. breakpoint was the unlucky one that they succeeded on and thats why its dead - but they tried hard with both division games, just the assets were repurposed for giving charity to civs in 1 and in 2 shoring up control points after taking them. now i hear they are rebalancing - and capacitor or st elmos was losing mag capacity because they were becoming mandatory well thats one thing. balancing properly i can accept since i played a long while with those builds and had my fun. but i worry now ubisoft losses on skull and bones (which they wanted to cancel but a deal with singapore govt meant they couldnt) will kill ubisoft and what then for the division? who will get the IP if that happens?
The rifles are all bugged on ps5, you cant fire them smoothly, you will get maybe 4-5 shots that fire nice as they should then the 6th shot will lag out on you and its frustrating as heck, its left the likes of the ravenous pretty unusable, so the auto fire rifles seems like their way of fixing something they haven't been able to fix. The insult to the Japanese is shocking by Ubisoft, we've all been desperately wanting a Japanese story line from the start of the franchise and having a black samurai is just ridiculous and a massive kick in the nuts to the Japanese cultural heritage, they are a very proud people, proud of their contributions as a small nation and their history as Samurai etc, i wont be buying it, im tired of politics creeping into games. Great vid mate, love the content, keep it up 👍

Bro your negotiator dilemma build took 15 minutes to clear the first floor of DUA its not op. If you just switch to a Famas and pristine example chest then you will know what OP is you never played the meta builds like you keep saying and when you find something slightly powerful you get excited.

About time all this BS stopped in the gaming industry. One thing I liked no loved about Cyberpunk 2077, the character was just called V and you can make it whatever culture you want. This is , as I see the only way forward in games. As for Auto Rifles, I think it’s the only way they and snipers are viable in a primarily Damage Per Second game.
Ubisoft in the toilet ....dont be surprised if it's bought out or sells its IP off to other developers....games will be delayed due to due diligence from prospective purchasers
Bro the way Ubisoft is failing i bet u they won’t be any divison 3 coz onestly which gaming company has ever released 5 games in a year doesn’t make sense and all of them are failures
Rifles ,u only get less painful fingers from shooting, rate of fire is the same so why over hyping u don't get extra dmg and we already have zwiadowka last season w.h. and rifle dmg. I saw few RUclipsers struggling to do dmg with Ravenous so stop this nonsense
This is going to offend some people but Ubisoft needs to stop hiring woke activists as game devs. Theres a reason their recent games have flopped. Start hiring people based on their skills and qualifications instead of checking certain boxes

Does AC shadow not have a Japanese co protagonist you can play as or does it not count because she’s a woman? Also Yasuke is not African American he was an African slave, he’s also the first protagonist in the series that was actually a real person. You say AC is a game about culture and yet they’ve made him a part of their culture.
I don't think the controversy behind the Assassin's Creed Shadows MC is justified. The game while rooted in phantasm has historical elements woven into the fabric of the series. Yasuke isn't some random created character that they just threw in there. Yasuke is an actual historical figure who lived through the time period the game is set in, who was an actual attendant/body guard granted the honor of samurai by Oda Nobunaga a key historical figure who's personal campaigns are used a backdrop for the story of the game. He's a part of that history. Him being the main character which also offers a Japanese protagonist if i'm correct, doesn't take away from the cultural elements of the game which I'm sure they put extensive time into. I don't think there is grounds for controversy.
Good point, and I’m not taking anything away from the Historical aspect. But I think that since every other cultural AC MC was their respective race, it should’ve been the same for this AC. If for nothing except consistency. They could’ve still included Yasuke another way… But this is only my opinion
@@iDentityUSI personally see nothing wrong with it, as we have had asian assassins like the one Ezio trained Shao Jun she also has her own game. Yasuke was Japanese no matter how much people want to tip toe around it he was Japanese. Actually Yasuke and Shao Jun could very well meet and that would be a cool plot point to have Shao Jun teach Yasuke the ways of the Creed. I understand where people are coming from but at the same time this is the first time we've ever actually had a historical figure as a protagonist.
I'm sure they just thought this was a cool part of history they could explore through their story. Highly doubt this was based on "activism" lol. No one was calling for this, no one is boycotting Ubisoft for lack of diversity in games. Again I am sure Devs just thought it was a interesting part of history to explore.
@@AVibinGoose Yasuke was Mozambiquan, he wasn't japanese. They chose him specifically, for that reason and chose not to have a Japanese male mc. Most of the stuff about him was made up by one historian that wasn't very accurate. It isn't limited to AC Shadows, look at how all their other games are flopping and stock tanking. You just had a SBI guy say on a presentation, their goal is to burn gaming to the ground, in the name of DEI. Once again, sounds a tad like activism to me. You don't have to believe it, that is your choice, for the rest of us, it is clear as day.

Ubi needs to take a step back and really figure themselves out and what they value most. Because if they choose the stock markets then they shouldnt be in gaming anymore and they should spin out the studios under their management so those studios can develop and cater to the gamer base.
Also, I phucking LOVE Survival!! Hope they bring it back 💯
automatic rifles... classic old destiny dev trick. when something was accidentally OP in destiny 2 the devs would work on the patch and either disable it if it was being used in pvp too much or tell players to enjoy it until the next patch because they gotta fix it. of course such things were often disabled for the worlds first raid races. the best example was when players found a way to get 12 player raids, and activities. everyone had a month of fun with the devs treating it as a test to see if the servers could handle so many players in a raid.
ubisoft and massive screwed up div 2 and the first dlc for it so badly. one way world tier systems deterred players like me from completing all strongholds in endgame in case we couldnt deal with the new world tier and just got one shot all the time. that was a real fear when you can't drop back down a tier anymore by choice. there was nothing wrong with div 1 tiers except that some players wanted more difficulty so wt 5 to 10. others kept saying it was too easy (for THEM with their absence of willpower) to drop down if things got tough. that was a THEM problem - but massive went and 'fixed' the lack of willpower by one way tiers - related, the imprisonment of agents in new york dlc still isnt patched out. i have an agent out there who has shd watch but it still says level 40 not shd level because keener mission isnt done. the least fun encounter i ever came across in 45 plus years of playing games. 50 years. whats the point being an agent if the dlc boss can just make using your gadgets a bad idea? might as well just turn the game into a strange version of CoD.
the worst was the darkzone in washington. originally supposed to wrap round the map, ubi made massive cut it to current form because pvpers complained the manhattan dz was too big for them to chase down agents not interested in pvp. the result? only a few players ever went in, and most like me avoided it due to the constant ganking of low levels by higher and the fact you couldnt level dz because of the loss of xp mechanic. they even put conflict in game because the dz only worked for certain pvp groups of agents. it would have helped if they removed the xp loss thing, maybe i would have kept trying but never getting past level one there wasnt any point. i finished the campaign when i bought it, stopped trying dz since i prefer pve and then left. same thing with new york dlc - got discouraged by keener fight and deleted the agent stuck there, played other games and because that dlc failed, ubi cancelled the next and put the majority of the dev team on something else.
Great vid mate, love the content, keep it up 👍
donno bout anyone else but i been usin auto rifles since 2021. Razer Synapse 3 app for razer mouse > macro > Set to side button while hold to loop the action. Done.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to make division free to play also
Not going to happen. They have that COD knock off for that.
@@Privacy_in_public ubi is hurting badly financially, hell the other day STEAM had a Wildlands dlc on sale, thought I'd grab it on ubistore, still full price nearly a decade later. They won't give away anything for free.
I keep saying this and I will forever keep saying this. GIVE US CLASSIFIED GEAR SETS BACK. Make everything fun to play with, make everything op. Nerfing everything makes the game boring, repetitive, and stale. I’m sorry but I’m sick of everyone wanting this to be a tactical game. it’s an mmo rpg not ghost recon wildlands.
I'm fine with the rifle buff but no need to nerf anything else.
Isnt there a different team working on D3?
Well I may be your first person to say I have always hated Survival in Division. I liked the Underground much better.
If the division 2 doesn't do well now then there won't be a division 3 since no one will dare to spend time or money on failing projects.
Ubisoft as we know it is toast.
My belief is the Division 2 game is supporting the rest of Ubisoft and their screw ups .
I was Horrible at survival.
Rifles need to remain semi automatic. I really hope The Division 3 sees the light of day.
No offense, but auto rifles are not going to be op at all. You still can't surpass the max rof, you just don't have to pull the trigger. It is a qol improvement, nothing more. They still don't outclass ARs, even with the nerfs
Bro your negotiator dilemma build took 15 minutes to clear the first floor of DUA its not op. If you just switch to a Famas and pristine example chest then you will know what OP is you never played the meta builds like you keep saying and when you find something slightly powerful you get excited.
Negotiators is OP by definition, also I wasn’t trying to go for any record time to complete the areas. I could but don’t really care
And you must've be pretty fvkng good since you play only "meta" and you know how OP "meta is"🥴
@@ADISTOD3MUS When your sugar daddy says this build is op the Developers who play on hard are not going to nerf negotiator dilemma they are going nerf everything new that is coming smh
I love survival I’m playing it now as we speak since division two is boring
Ubisoft in the toilet
....dont be surprised if it's bought out or sells its IP off to other developers....games will be delayed due to due diligence from prospective purchasers
They do not have the rpm of ar's lol I'd rather have everything be busted and feel powerful and have fun than everything being nerfed to.shit
Bro the way Ubisoft is failing i bet u they won’t be any divison 3 coz onestly which gaming company has ever released 5 games in a year doesn’t make sense and all of them are failures
If you really know your history you would correct what you are saying about the mc’s.
Well let me the first... I didn't like survival still don't
They ruined this game one patch at a time and now its totally dead.
Ubisoft does not survive this. Division 3 does not get made. Division 2 has overstayed its welcome.
Rifles ,u only get less painful fingers from shooting, rate of fire is the same so why over hyping u don't get extra dmg and we already have zwiadowka last season w.h. and rifle dmg. I saw few RUclipsers struggling to do dmg with Ravenous so stop this nonsense
bro who cares about pvp at this point? it's a 6yr old game . they've nerfed all the good stuff to the ground and you're worried about rifles?
This is going to offend some people but Ubisoft needs to stop hiring woke activists as game devs. Theres a reason their recent games have flopped. They've catering to a small minority of gamers that care more about identity politics than fun gameplay or an interesting story. Start hiring people based on their skills and qualifications instead of checking certain boxes
for how much time we ask them to give us Survival in D2???
Do they listen to us? Fuk NO! Cos their bigshit designers that know better...
We ask for a bigger DZ...did they give us that? Fuk NO!
Do they give us back Underground ? Fuk NO!
Rersistance is back ? Fuk NO!
Instead we have that depressing Summit, dumb designers what type of tower is that if it doesn't have windows to see the clear sky and a large panorama ??!! All those covers on windows make that tower look like you are in a tunnel !
Descent is annoying as hell, enemies are more stronger than you, and the Nemesis is cheating...how the fuk is a copy of our char when he has way too much armor and damage ??!!!
I was expecting that they put some work in that and just make Nemesis smart AI, and challenge will be how you beat him if he can think and adapt fast....and not because is a walking tank!
I played Descent for few minutes, and i never gonna go there! Good intention, bad design.
massive went woke!!! division 1 community was to toxic for the studio, and fucked up div. 2 lol
I’m hoping they use heartland for D3
Let's face it, they did it because of activism, and we all know it. Not the first time, possibly the last.
Sweet Baby Inc. are openly activists, they worked on this, please tell me how this was not a choice fuelled by activism? It isn't limited to AC Shadows, look at how all their other games are flopping and stock tanking.
You just had a SBI guy say on a presentation, their goal is to burn gaming to the ground, in the name of DEI. Once again, sounds a tad like activism to me. You don't have to believe it, that is your choice, for the rest of us, it is clear as day.
Your kinda wrong about the assassins creed but then again it’s just an opinion but the black samurai is an actual person within the Japanese culture also I don’t see a lot of Japanese being upset about the game 🤷🏾♂️
Honestly it can go both ways, they could’ve still included Yasuke another way… Just saying this is inconsistent based on the other AC MC’s
@@iDentityUS i understand
Ubisoft has been struggling for a while . The bonus reward at the end for the xp5 event is bullshit.
