@bruh ‘Pretty darn fast’ yeah, from a GUI standpoint. I made a file with the letter ‘e’. Using the terminal, I appended it to blank file. I then repeatedly appended one file to the other. Within a minute or two, I had two files with a combined size of a couple of hundred gigabytes. The only time delay was the I/O to my drive, which was admittedly NVMe.

I strongly recommend using unicode symbols, as they hold more data value than the average characters. For example emojis, or any unicode symbol which is quite complicated takes more bytes. You can make a really big zip bomb really fast, just spam the symbol for a bit until you have around 20 million lines in notepad, (Best is if you use a variation of them), and then you can copy it.. one notepad can hold around 1 - 5 gigabytes this way.

I once made a 1.9 gb txt file with these 0s. Notepad started crashing, but I managed to save it, despite it ending up being too large for both notepad and wordpad. I made copies of it and turned them into a 97gb zip bomb. Neither windows defender nor any other antivirus I had tested detected it. Edit: It's now a 275 gb bomb :D
you should have used blank characters. a blank character is created using left alt + 255 on the numpad which takes less pressure on your pc. i made a 170 gb bomb with these
why don't you just use python to paste in way too many things in a text file, I accidentally let one running for less than 10 seconds (I have a really slow computer), it got up to 1.9gb before I stopped it
You can always just make a small recursive .exe that scans for a file that doesn’t exist and only stops when it detects the file. HDD and CPU slow to a crawl.
Give your teacher a 42 Geopbyte zip bomb, when she unzip it… there may be an explosion that would make a chemistry lab explosives incident look like tiny firecrackers in sheer explosive power, extra points if it’s in an Aussie high school and it’s a teacher hated by both the staff and the students. Or just any teacher that’s hated…
So how would create a zip bomb without killing your own pc in the process? Like if you make a 100Gb file before compression, it would take up 100Gb of your own space and you potentially couldn't fill it up anymore, but maybe someone will have enough space to handle that file. I'd be interested in creating absolute nukes like bombs that are several terabytes big lol.
