For this tote bag you will need about 150 meters (160 yards) of 6 mm cord. I am using MonoMey Studio cord.

I only use t-shirt Hooked Zpaghetti recycled cotton yarn. Bags are little bit heavier and thicker, but texture and creative possibilities are so great. Definitely worth trying :-)

If you have 4 mm cord, than you should use smaller hook. I am using 8 mm or 7 mm crochet hook to crochet with 6 mm cord. So, if you are working with 4 mm cord, then your hook should be smaller.

It is all ok, if you have one stitch more or less. The final result will be just perfect for sure! If you have 36, it is all ok. Continue making the bag. One or two stitches does not make a difference to the final look :)

Hello :) Once I started crocheting, I used all the time 7 mm crochet hook. And now I prefer 8 mm crochet hook. So both hooks are just great :)
And to crochet the bag you will need 200 meters of 6 mm cord :)

And I Will use a 6 mm hook from the Seven row do I Need to increase the 2 single crochet in one stich and out between 6 single crochet ? Thanks for your video. I was trying to crochet but in round 5 the sequence of 2sc in 1st then 2sc if you repeat 7 times at the end of round remain 1 st so will be 38 sts and not 37, can you please explain how you get 37sts at the end of round 5?

At the moment I am not sure about this measurement. If you have 1 or 2 stitches more or less, do not worry, the bag will come up just perfect ;)

I loved this tutorial! I only had 3mm and used a 5mm hook. 😳 It was very little but perfect one small crochet project to tote around. I was wondering if you had other patterns for purchase that included different size cord and the appropriate size hooks in order to make roughly the same size purse? 6mm seems difficult to find in the US for me anyways, but 5mm and 3mm are everywhere.

I was doing my bag using 5mm cotyon cord and 10mm crochet hook. It is so little so i will use it as a planter or basket. Could You please tell me what size of cord did you used amd what brand to get much bigger than mine. I heard in the beggining of video 6mm cord and 7mm crochet hook but it is almost imposibble that the difference in measurments of our bags are so huge. Mine is half size of yours with only one mm difference of cords. Please help😅

If you make this tote bag with thinner yarn, then the bag will be smaller. You could add couple yarn together to get about 5-6 mm yarn and then make it.

Started this today. Purchased Bonnie Craft Cord 6mm and seems super thick/stiff than what is being used in the video. I'm aware it's a different brand but is there any other brand of cord that is softer to work with in the US?

Hey, amazing bag! I don't understand one thing (I'm a beginner). In the round 4 we have 28 stitches. In the round 5 we make 9 times 2sc in one stitch, 1sc and 1sc - that make 36 stitches not 37 stitches. What I missed? I will be grateful for your answer ;)

Yes, rounds 4 and 5 are the same:
2 single crochet in 1 stitch, 2 single crochet.
You just have to repeat this different number of times. In round 4 you will repeat this 7 times. And in round 5 you will repeat this 9 times.
