- Planning a trip to Malta, and thinking of visiting Comino ? Is it worth it ? Is it really the same place as you see it on those idyllic instagram photos?

@@kathleenabelaperez6591 I've researched it. There are ferries to Sicily. It supposes to good trip but I couldn't find a good video about it. I wonder why. Is it expensive or is there a visa issue or something? I hope Alex will enlighten us :)
quite easy ! Virtu Ferries from Pozzallo to Valletta, or Ponte Ferries from Augusta but not as regular as Virtu
Alex, you have a right to use any part of that beach at the Blue Lagoon FOR FREE, including the rocks. You can tell them to move their deckchairs and umbrellas out of your way. They have to comply. They have no authority whatsoever to put their stuff there. Nobody should give those crooks any money.
Thats what i realized afterwords hence in the video i said if i knew the rest of the island i would not have run to get the first row of deckchairs. Just another money making spot in Malta, sadly
@@AlexinMalta I'm glad you found that other beach. When my kids come to visit me, I will take them there. We are still working on getting that illegal deck chair concession shut down.

We sailed last Monday from Mellieha Bay to the Blue Lagoon with OhYeah. It was wonderful. We wanted to go again last Friday, but the trip was cancelled because of strong winds.
Now we‘re sitting at Malta Airport waiting for our flight home that is 2.5 hours delayed.

10-07-2022.Some background history on Camino, the busuttil family was the owners of it ,my ancester had a huge ship stationed there to serve the Knights, in 1978 l returned it over to the Chroneaunotes as it was there property and we had been given tempery ownership rights to it.The Maltese Goverment knows this but is playing loose and fast about ownership rights.
I first went to Comino in September 1989 and there was NOTHING there, it was so peaceful, watching this video I’d say they’ve spoilt Comino. It looks too busy. In 1989 there was only the few people who had used the boat from Sliema and no-one else. It was so nice to see you on the 3rd of July in Sliema. 😎☕️

We visited Comino at the end of May and Blue Lagoon was a bit of a disappointment. I mean, for sure it was pretty, but there were huge crowds and people had thrown their pineapple cocktails on plain ground. On the other hand, Crystal Lagoon was SPECTACULAR, definitely recommend it to anyone going on a Comino cruise.

Hey hey. I totally agree with you, the Crystal Lagoon was amazing and i enjoyed swimming there. Imagine now in July Comino is even more crowded
i did a dna and found out i'm part maltese. i had no idea whatsoever. i thought i had visited all of the homes of my ancestry but alas, i have more to do
We went to Comino on a trrip from Saliema to Gozo and we were not impressed. Comino was so overcrowded, you could not find anywhere to sit/relax. The rocks are super sharp, so sitting it painful and you must bring swim shoes, if you don't want your feet ripped to shreds getting in or out of the water. The whole place looked cheap with the fast food vans and the packed areas of deckchairs. I would not recommend Comino.

visit mum in gozo twice a year, and always head over to comino. i'm a trail walker so proper go round the island, and leave that beginning hub well alone. having said that, if you go there on a non-popular day, the start area is in fact really nice and chilled

Great presentation of Malta and well done for keeping it cool . Should I be concerned of widespread rubbish pollution because of lazy tourists acting like they are at home ?

we went in mid Sept 2022 and lots of Jelly fish, very crowded even mid week and the cigarette butts all over the beach is disgusting and disappointing
Never swim on May cause of many of Jellyfish I got stinked on May I thought never whon’t me any jellyfish during the summer
Still a lot of jellyfish even in July
Worth a visit ? Yes, No doubt but it's small so a day trip yes. but personally I would not stay longer.
I dont know how to swim, would a life vest be convenient to carry around ?

Give me an air conditioned bedroom & a great film any day of the week!! This is my worse nightmare. Ive been bitten by a jelly fish & the pain was excuterating!! I'd rather wait untill it was safe to go out at around 7pm & enjoy a balmy walk with a few drinks thrown in!

We totally agree...Comino was one, big disappointment. We went there in summer, so it was amazingly hot, there are no trees, no shadow unless you pay 20e for an umbrella where there is one person next to another. A lot of garbage everywhere, laud music from each foodtruck mixing above the head. There are much nicer places in Malta!
Also remember your video about the top 4 Best North beach’s of Malta And 1 Disappointed Beach yes that beach in Ahmar bay well don’t swim far away form this beach you know why well it’s Because of giant jellyfish yes jellyfish and if you got stringed by giant jellyfish you get pain and red bruise worse then a 🐝 so look carefully if there are jellyfish just like you what you saw the jellyfish and you were lucky 🍀 so stay safe form jellyfish just giving you a warning

Hi Alex! Me girldfriend and I went in comino at first week of june 2022. Well... It's a beauty place, right. But 20€ for couple sunbeds.. a lot of people drunk throwin' his sheets of pinneaple to water... Lot of jellyfish and a really cold cold and cold water. I'm from north of Spain and we've a cold water full year but this was unnexpected.
Even so, we had fun jajaja.

This video is shocking to me.
When I was there in the 70’s, there was nothing on the island of comino. You took a big ferry and stayed on the ferry and just swam off the ferry. The ferry feed you and served drinks.

@@AlexinMalta I’ve been back to Malta many times since. My maiden name is Zammit. I’m Maltese my mother from sliema my father from B’kara.. just never went back to comino. My grandparents summer house in Gozo. I visit with family all over the island.

Hi Alex, we found that a boat trip from Sliema for €20 each and it took us there, stayed all day with us and we could eat, keep our stuff on the boat and they also had a fun slide into the sea then you avoid the sunbed problem! But we also went during Covid so it was much much quieter

Hey. I drove to the ferry terminal in Cirkewwa, where i took the public ferry from Malta to Comino www.cominoferries.com/schedule.html just 15min ride. You can check Captain Morgan cruises they have boats departing from Sliema, but they leave from Sliema late morning so its not worth seeing Comino already packed. Try to get the first public ferry and you will see Comino with less people for at least 1 hour

Hey hey. Rent a car so you can go everywhere. Tallinja card for 7 days is 21e and its the cheapest option but you will lose a lot of time waiting for busses/riding

last time i was in comino , i was burnt by exactly one of those jelly fish 😅

We were there very early and hiked around the island which is lovely. When we returned to the bay for the ferry it was packed with the food stalls and people and it was an annoyingly and comical sight with everyone posing in and out of the water. Everyone posing with their pineapple drinks..... I am not sure if they care or even realize how completely ridiculous they look. That aside the lagoon is tiny so unless you like to be cheek to cheek with hordes of people in and out of the water go early and leave

I am disappointed, Alex :/ .. at 3:42 you promise to show the viewers pretty much everything in Comino and you only visit one small part of the island.. what about Santa Maria sandy beach , which is almost deserted when compared to bustling and seriously overcrowded Blue Lagoon.. it's just about 15 minutes walk from the place you were staying..
