Federer really didn't like Murray's toxic pushing style lol. He wasn't going to beat him with how much he was slicing the ball, and especially on such slow dry conditions.
Federer figured Murray out eventually, which is why he has the better H2H. Besides, even when Murray had the better h2h, Federer won their most important matches
@@keepthefaith6909 No Fed made adjustments to his game after the 2013 season and he consistently beat Murray, Wawrinka, and Nadal after that. Djokovic was another story.
@@bdgregorybd Murray's HTH vs Federer: 11-9 pre back surgery. 0-5 afterwards.Four defeats in the worst year of his career when he was having consistent back issues, 2014. Murray's HTH vs Djokovic pre back surgery: 8 -11. After back surgery 3.-13 NO player in history has ever returned to the same level after major back surgery.
Federer was going through a mental crisis at this time until he got back into some form late on in the season. You can see he has little confidence in his top spin backhand here.
Yeah Murray just picked at his backhand here. Federer's performance not bad at all otherwise but Murray's returning and constant pushing onto that side made Federer uncomfortable. Very strong tactical performance from Murray to keep gently pressing on the weak point.
If you ever watch the Murray documentary, you'll also see he routinely went WAY too hard in practice on the treadmills and stationary bikes and stair masters. Eventually he just put too much stress on his joints.
Andy Murray was a great player for the few years he was at the top, great to see. Roger Federer was a great player for 20+ years - amazing to have all the things you need to be a top player lined up for all those years.
Just passing through on my journey to watch every Federer match.
That point at 12:46 from Andy was amazing. Everybody, including Fed thought that point was over, but that was a great pick by Murray
Just a pleasure watching them both play

need patience. serve volley to Andys body, bring Andy to net
@@bdgregorybd It was Murray's baxk surgery that turned the HTH around. Never beat Fed after that.

What a performance from Andy.💪

He was only good for Wimbledon and the US series.
He still demolished Murray, but choked at the crucial stages

No, not hitting an open stance bh, brought him his injuries.

Wow, young Murray was great...but this was a lazy performance from Roger..
Wtf
I wouldn't say it was Lazy

This is mononucleosis Roger
He had mononucleosis a year before this match.
Very slicey roger (dont get me wrong he has the best slice imho). Maybe he wasnt feeling his one hander..
There's nothing wrong about Murray being one of the big four!
