I'm thinking about getting into kayaking . I've never kayaked before only canoeing as a kid. Is this a good kayak for a beginner? I'm looking for an all around boat. Mostly lakes ,rivers and light Rapids. I also looking for fitness ,sorta cross-training to complement my cycling and just fun. Is this boat a lot better than a department store boat. I have high quality bike shop bikes and I'm wanting a quality boat that beginner can use and learn in and not immediately feel like I wanna upgrade.

I would like to see a comparison video of the dagger katana and the jackson traverse. If you have had a chance to try out both kayaks which one would you prefer? .

Would rolling this feel similar to rolling a jitsu because that is my main boat but I'm thinking of getting one of these as a second boat for longer trips

I have one and it has smooth soft chines so FOR ITS SIZE I would say it is relatively easy however it is a big boat and I am a "big" paddler (6' 110Kilos). My tutor has the Pyranha River Fusion and I would say his is better for white water but mine is fine in light surf and swells

Joe...could you compare this boat to the Jackson Rogue 10 and Pryanya (sp?) fusion.
    Thanks!
