Fra Lippo Lippi is a dramatic monologue written by Robert Browning and was published in 1855 in his collection Men and Women. The poem depicts a 15th-century real-life painter, Filippo Lippi. Even though Fra Lippo paints real scenes, the Church tells him to change it and focus on painting the soul, not just the body.
