Hi mate tank looks good, looking forward to the experiment. You seem to have tons of surface agitation. Doesn't the water make a splashing noise when it enteres the overflow box through the combs? I realised that when I increase my surface agitation and water hits the combs with pressure it creates a splashing noise even though i keep the water level pretty high in the overflow box.
Thanks! Yeah, you're right, the surface agitation definitely adds water noise. Not sure if it's due to the weir box or if it's just the clashing of the water and the bubbles. Now you mention. It I'll have to take a closer look and see. I recently pointed the gyres a bit more lateral instead of more upwards to reduce the waves a bit, so its less noisy but still has lots of turbulence and bubbles.
While it's less hassle not dipping and get on with things it only takes one bad apple to spoil the rest and by then it's too late. Prevention is easier than going thru possible pest hassle. I always dip and remove frag plug.
You make a good point! What dip do you personally recommend? When I dip, I use dettol but I did use coral rx on some corals from a frag swap a few weeks back.
@@IndoorReef I change up branded dips from time to time and must say they all pretty much the same. What stands out in my mind is iodine dips which I have pretty much used since I started this hobby. I normally buy pharma grade Lugol's iodine for dips.
Look forward to seeing how you get on
Thanks! I'll keep you posted. 👍
awesome reef
Thanks! 😁
