Thank you Chetna for an amazing recipe. I've just made this and even though I forgot to buy coriander seeds, it tasted so good. The only downside is that my husband loved it so much I'm going to have to make it every week now!😙
I'm going to definitely try this. I have some tinned jack fruit. Usually do fake pulled pork but this sounds delicious and easy!! Must also buy your book!
I'm looking for a jackfruit curry recipe, and i noticed the bay leaf, i think bay leaves in India must be different than Europe, maybe they are Cassia leaves? In Greece bay leaves look different.
You probably dont give a shit but does anyone know of a method to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost the account password. I would love any help you can offer me!
@Archie Louis i really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and Im in the hacking process now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
We tried tinned jackfruit, very tasty, they say we should eat more vegetable dishes whatever our tastes are. I'll have a look in our grocers to see if they have any fresh jackfruit, I'll be surprised if they haven't. I like the spice combination you do, I'm curious to taste the flavoured rice. Thankyou Chetna
Excellent, great to follow. The pinch of sugar towards the end fucked it up completely. Is it lndian or Chinese style? Did not know sugar is used in hot cooking!
Wonderful looking recipe! I can't wait to try it. I see fresh Jackfruit all the time in Southern California, but I've never bought one(just use to canned) because I never think that I can use up the whole fruit before it goes bad. Do you have any recommendations for keeping jackfruit fresh for longer? Thanks, Lynnea
I normally clean, chop and steam my jackfruit. Then store it in the freezer until I want to use it again. Keeps really well and it is super easy to just defrost and use again.
word of caution ...because of the very strong smell of fresh ripe jackfruit DO NOT FREEZE unless you wanna eat chicken and everything on yr freezer that has the flavour of jackfruit ...I learnt the hard way
Hey chetna, always good stuff! What brand of Kashmiri do you use? I like spicy but the one I use is like cayenne, I like the color but it is always too spicy for guests, thank you for your videos, huge fan!😊
I was afraid to try Jackfruit as I didn’t think I would like but I tasted some the other day and it was amazing 🤩 so definitely going to be trying this recipe 🥰
I've only discovered jackfruit recently. I buy the biona brand. It literally looks like chunks of tuna 😂 My mom is irish and vegetarian and she won't touch it lmao
This is not even close to jack fruit curry my Mom makes.... So sorry... There are so many preparations and seasoning required for jack fruit to get better taste....
Thank you chetna for the wonderful recipe. I tried for first time and it came out good.

Haven't seen such an easy jack fruit recipe. Thanks Chetna!
Glad to hear that!
I have been thinking of ways to make jackfruit but now that I have seen your recipe, I will try.
A while ago I bought a tin of jackfruit and did not know what do with it. This looks like a good opportunity to use it :)
I've started watching 1 of these a week to make at home. Must get that book!
👍🏼
Do we preboil the jackfruit if we are lucky enough to pluck one from the tree?
Great recipe! Thank you for sharing!
If you used fresh jack fruit would you give it longer to cook through?
Yay 😁 woohoo 🙌🏻 a vegan 🌱 recipe - thanks Chetna 💕

Hello, one question : if you do it with a fresh jackfruit, would you blanch it in water for few minutes before putting it into the pan ?
You can cook it directly in the curry too

Canned jackfruit comes in 16oz or 20oz cans -- are you using the small can or the large can, there? Thank you

It is not used in all hot cooking but used to balance some of the dishes with the flavours and is quite essential
Lovely dish, also liked your new kitchen ware :)
Looks so meaty! Like beef curry yum!
There's a veg shop in Whitstable Kent that sells whole fresh jackfruit. They're £125 or you can buy a slice.
OMW that's very expensive ...we have a tree full of jackfruit once a year here in South Africa ...I could some pretty pennies exporting my lot hahaha
I think we can use curry spice in this kind of flavour.
You can but it tastes very different to garam masala
We’re very blessed to grow every fresh fruit and veg available here in Australia 🇦🇺🙏🏻

Hi Chetna! How spicy is this curry? It looks beautiful but I usually can't handle a lot of chilli.
Jackfruit curry will be cooked with potatoes and it will be good to eat.
