Egg is 'Telur' in Malay and also Bahasa Indonesia. Banjo only specifically for Burger with the full name is 'Egg Banjo' which means 'Egg Burger' and became short just 'Banjo'. The origins of Banjo Burger was introduced by British army during WW2 in Malaysia which was very difficult in getting food supply at that time. One of the recipe created by British soldiers were 'Egg Burger' called 'Banjo'. However if you order 'Special Burger' either Ayam (chicken) or Daging (Beef) = Ayam Special or Daging Special, it means the patty will be wrapped with egg.
Wow thank you for the information! We love to know things like this. One our website (travel blog) we have entire pages for Indonesia and Malaysia with a did you know and facts section. Things like this make for wonderful additions. Thanks for the comment and taking the time! We appreciate it.
There's alot of food in malaysia that has coconut or coconut milk in it. If is allergy have to be careful for food intake. Can tried some penang char kuey tiao, klang bak kut teh, claypot chicken rice, seafood fried rice...etc😊
@@JennandLeon its really no different its an Arabic word meaning folded the one you had is martabak manis (manis = sweet). In Malaysia we don't call it that instead its called Apam balik but Indonesian its martabak manis. The one you're having is the regular murtabak / savory. Traditionally its always been savory. Because apam balik (MY) and Martabak Manis (Indonesian) is also folded they call it that but the origin of the sweet ones is actually Chinese whereas traditional murtabak is Arabic and always savory.
It seems that your channel has not get the attention of Malaysians yet. i highly suggest you to promote your channel to local people each time u talk to them..
Thank you for the recommendation yes it seems the bigger cities attract more attention. We will be in Kuala Lumpur later this month and when people find our videos there will be a lot of videos for people to watch! 🙏🏼❤️🇲🇾 we are just happy sharing our travels
@@JennandLeon yes i am sure your video will garner more attention once you arrive to Kuala Lumpur! Anyway we Malaysian adapt very well with outside foods and we make it our own version of food. It just that we use very much coconut milk in our food so your partner might need to be careful with that.
@@JennandLeon, actually in malaysia you will get more views if you go to rural place or small city... you also can get so many views if you go to states in the east coast of peninsula malaysia like kelantan or terengganu 😊
