her home is in california, the state famously known for hollywood and home of celebrities. marilyn has proven to be an icon that represents the movie industry, even decades after her death; she is still more memorable than even today's celebrities. i think she is, in particular, a celebrity that needs to be preserved, and her home should be a landmark.
in taiwan, my family's home was taken by the government to be a landmark. a part of me feels sad we "lost" our home, but at the same time, i'm grateful and proud; that landmark will continue to be preserved and will forever be a representation of my family.

Because of tourists driving by? That's the worst, most selfish reason ever for demolishing a historic home. Here in Palm Springs we cherish our celebrity homes. Can you imagine if we leveled the Frank Sinatra compound or Bob Hope's house over tourists?

LA Thrives and survives on Tourism, it needs to preserve as much of it's history and culture as it can. Marilyn Monroe was one of the biggest cultural icons in American history too, losing the only home where she actually owned and passed away in would be a lost.

Hmmm, I confess, what I consider my boyhood home was “rebuilt” the framing was saved, basic design was saved, but everything else was replaced, I do wonder if the stairway was preserved, It was fabulous, I never walked down those stairs, I could ride down the banister, we moved when I was 14, But it was a farm my parents “rented”, share-cropped, but I lived there 12 years of my life, I remember bathing in the farm style kitchen sink before I was 3, because by age 3 I remember my grandparents 50th Gold Wedding Anniversary party, I remember it all. So, an investor could make a fortune AirB&B the property, hire security for the property, You could make money on it.

Why hasn't someone in the Film Colony purchased Her home ? Some of today's actors are intimidated by Her staying power. She's far from forgotten in a world where the modern generations aren't aware of a lot of accomplished actors careers from the 20th century. Film History is really interesting. It goes beyond Marvel, Disney and remakes of a Star is Born.

A beautiful Spanish ranch gets trashed. A big ugly McMansion they'd save. Why not make a photo essay inside and outside with complete measurements and plans people can buy so it can live on in memory. Maybe re-created if good taste ever comes back.

I would visit Pink's for delicious hot dogs because I love hot dogs. It has been a long time that I'ven't eaten a hot dog. It would happen if I were Judy Garland, the actress who impersonated the main character of THE WIZARD OF OZ, a movie that was released into the theatres in 1939, the year when the hot dog joint was established by a couple.🌭

Unless the government is willing to compensate the homeowner by buying the house or paying to have it relocated, the homeowner can do whatever they want with their property. However, this is California…tyranny, socialism, and unconstitutional policies reign supreme.

      Tear it down.
Y’all don’t like Marilyn Monroe anyway since she didn’t accept Jesus..
It’s clear people with spiritual differences aren’t allowed the same grace as believers.
Funny how people just lump all Cali residents as trash when there’s a bunch of good ones.
