My dad gave me an amazing gift, The love of books. Anne McCaffery was one of are favourites. He has passed now and i often imagine him and Anne McCaffery sharing a meal, and talking into the night about books, characters and anything that comes to them. It helps me miss them both less!
What a beautiful interview. I feel in love with Anne McCaffrey's books when I was a little girl. Seeing her in this interview, her heart and soul helps me remember the grace and power of her books. Long live Pern and the magic of her stories.
The portion where McCafferey talks about being such a brat as a child does project onto Lessa as a teenager. Yes, she IS a brat. But that bratty attitude was also the fire that gave her the strength to fight on. P.S. Hearing the "Duty Song" had me in legit tears!
That's exactly what I was wondering! I've read on the Jewel Riders Archive that there were many attempts to adapt Dragonriders of Pern into an animated series. I'd love to find more about what studio did that animation worked on that.
My oldest niece Abi Tolbert likes dragons, dinosaurs, and "Godziila" films so I tell her how only Macaffrey solved how fossil record violates Cube Square Law via living airships which is important since my brother in law John Sambol is a creationist who ignores importance of Darwinian adaptive mutations in favor of religion's fairy tales. Females are interested in living things except for crystal bling while males are interested in nonliving things except for erotic junk Crystallography does have real applications for designing spaceships beyond fictions.

Amazing! I was amazed by a fragment of a cartoon from this video. What is it? Where from? Where can you find out more about it?

What is this book she talks about at 26:10? The Caradine something? edit: Never mind. I found it. I read it as The Lady, not The Carradyne Touch.
