I've known Chris since second grade. Back then he was a talented model maker ,building balsa wood models that look like they could have been put in a magazine. As mentioned in the video Chris is an awesome painter. I have some of his work hanging in my house. The guitars that he's been building for the last 20 or so years are some of the most outstanding I have ever seen. What a talent he has been his whole life. Anyone who buys one of those guitars is buying a treasure that will be passed on for Generations. Great job Chris I look forward to seeing your future masterpieces!!
Am really glad i watched this documentary.Chris is an extremely talented person,he doesn't just make guitars,he makes individual work's of art.I would be honoured to own such beautiful instruments.I only have a martin.
Chris really is a renaissance man. He is an artist and craftsman but he has also learned a lot about engineering and acoustics along the way. Great video, just wish it had been longer.
Thank you so very much! I really appreciate you checking out what goes on. Scot is working on sound demos of the finished guitars. Cheers Chris - Macdaddy
I always enjoy happenstance videos popping up in my feed, especially when they introduce master craftsmen creating quality guitars. I really enjoyed this and would love to explore one of his guitars someday. Thanks!
Hi James! Scot has produced an amazing video of a day in the life of Macdaddy. He will be posting some great sound clips soon. Much appreciated Chris - Macdaddy
Hi Chris, I am a beginner acoustic guitar builder & can relate to how you explain the wood tones, texture & art. Your guitars are beautifully& tastefully designed. I have been building things out of wood for over 50 years. So far lately I have built 6 Martin D28 jumbo acoustic copies for my family. I live in New Brunswick Canada & getting inspired by people like you who share their passion to build guitars. Thank you for time & consideration. Vic
Wow Vic! that is awesome you are building and I really love Jumbo acoustics. I'm sure you are making amazing guitars. Us woodworkers are a rare breed for sure. I'm always willing to share ideas and talk shop any time. By the way my fathers family came to the US from Cape Breton Port Hastings a long time ago - what a beautiful place up there. Like to get back some time. Cheers Chris - Macdaddy
This is an awesome video. Great content AND sound quality. I’ve known Chris more than 30 years and have long admired his passion for wood working and, notably, building guitars. A true luthier (yes, he taught me that word years ago). I’m so pleased to see his work being shared with a wider audience. Oh, and he’s a great guy to boot!
artisans with a higher standard and true purpose…love ‘em!…they make the world a sweeter place…as for his guitars or knowing how they sound, , i’d assume it would be a real treasure to own even without being a guitarist…

This particular guitar being built in the video is now a finished piece. It is a nylon string classical thinline model with K&K Pure Classical pickup system. I would compare to an Ibanez TOD10.

Yes I second that. I'd love to hear them played. Also liked Chris' pointing out the acoustic properties of the different tonewoods. More please.

Maybe you can attain unique construction like parker did. A guitar unique as you are building deserves the best innovative electronics.
Cantilevered neck and extended frett board . Sort of jazz guitar looking. So is this going to be a hollow body electric instrument.
