The most shocking part about the whole 2018 debacle is that we never knew they struggled and were even thinking abt disbanding before Jin brought it up in the speech. It was a shock and I felt my heart break into pieces thinking about how they had to handle that on their own. I felt like such a failure of an Army that I wasn’t able to be their bulletproof vest like they have been mine for years because how can I shield them from all that hate? It is still a very difficult time to think abt. I know they have grown stronger from all the experiences that life threw their way. We couldn't have done anything regardless if we knew so dont be hard on yourself. There was hate back then but most of their anguish was from them becoming so big that it was new and scary since they never knew they could be this big back when they first debuted (and they have only gotten like 10 times bigger since 2018) and having such packed schedules which were just inevitable. People would say BTS treats ARMY like we’re in a parasocial relationship full of delusions, they make fun of it too, but it’s not like that at all. BTS has always been very private and share only what they feel comfortable sharing, they always put limits, but they also show that they care and it’s just human care, you know? ‘So far away’ is such a beautiful song both versions the original with Suran, and the version with Jin and Jungkook. They sang it live once on stage with all the members participating which was good but not as powerful as the Jin and Jungkook version with their powerful voices. They didn’t take time off. At the point of Fake Love V desperately wanted to take 1 day off and even thought about getting injured at this time in order to be able to rest. They were allowed a half day and Jin said that really annoyed him.
A day and a half* that half a day especially pissed him off because its like "why dont we have two days but day AND a half" but they understood it was necessary back then to push because now in retrospect that period of their hard work really helped cement them to be where they are now. Just a little note, that YOUNG FOREVER song is not from the Wembley concert. Wembley happened in 2019 This was their "HYYH On Stage: Epilogue" Concert from 2016, right before they came out with the "WINGS" album. In 2018, they were struggling both physically and mentally a lot. And they earned more success than anyone had ever seen before. But that's what was really shocking to us all. We never knew there was this going on. It is only in MAMA 2018 Artist of the Year speech that Jin confessed to them even thinking to the point of disbandment. They had overcome it by then. This is why LY Trilogy was an important album series. It was absolutely heartbreaking for us all. We all cried at that speech, even other idols present there cried. This is all the more because BTS truly inspired us. They changed me. There used to be days when calling yourself a kpop fan or BTS ARMY would make everyone else make fun of you, still happens actually. But now, I can confidently say in front of others that BTS has changed me so much, and I'm extremely grateful for that. BTS made that change happen in the global industry. The intro track you heard (SUGA's mixtape song "So Far Away"), I used to listen to it every night crying myself to sleep for a year. That song is extremely close to my heart and still is. No one was able to understand me then and I never asked for help. But that one song and these 7 boys absolutely changed everything. To see these people struggling made us all cry.
Young Forever is a very meaningful song to Jimin. Wembley happened after his vlog (he was likely referencing their Epilogue tour), so you can just imagine how emotional he got during the Wembley YF stint by ARMY. He now has Young Forever tattooed on him. BTS is not only made up of artists we admire greatly, they are also our best friends. It’s wild to think how special and how big a part they are in my life. 💜

2018 was a crazy you, just thinking about it. They went to BBMA and AMA in late 2017 with the whole world being curious about who they were. In 2018 they had to do better to prove themselves and show the world who they were so they had to work harder, on top of that they were touring in so many countries in the same year, in between they released an album, attended various American shows and awards, attended Korean music shows and events whilst releasing an album, doing interviews, going on tour, doing run bts, bon voyage all in the same year. It was indeed a crazy year for them and i can feel how tired they were. Starting from 2019 u realized they didnt attend some of these events and only sent a vcr and they relaxed a bit as compared to 2018. They had also proven to anyone who doubeted them by this time and i am happy they made it through because they sowed a good seed and if they had parted ways in 2018 it would have been sad, all this success would have gone to waste but we are happy when they are happy
I think a part of their success as a team can be attributed to how they support each other. They are proud of each other's accomplishments and they lift each other up through their challenging times.

Yes you're correct. During their 1+ month break in from august-ish 2019 bighit released a notice to basically leave the members alone (ofc said much more nicely than im saying right now lolol😂) and that the guys r taking a break to recharge and live life

Just a little clarification for Young Forever. BTS went through their big mental/emotional upheaval in late 2017/early 2018. The video of fans singing Young Forever that jimin saw was from their past concert in 2015/2016. So jimin later shared with us that it was this song and video that helped him, which THEN sort of inspired the Young Forever surprise in Wembley in 2019 thats why jimin started bawling so quickly because he remembered that hard time he was having and watching fans singing Young Forever and then seeing ARMYs sing that again to him after knowing how much it means to him was what touched him even more.
Hey guys just wanted to let you know, that no they didn't have any time off during this time. All they got was 1 day off per month! Which is why they were so burnt out. Jimin was saying he was realllyyy struggling for 4 months and then started to reflect why "this was the only job" for him. Also ARMYs surprising BTS at Wembley happened in 2019 so it was AFTER this! This period in time is 2017-2018. Jimin was talking about ARMYs singing Young Forever to BTS during they HYYH concert! Lets not forget, just writing, preparing for the songs, dance practices, recording and concerts alone takes a lot of energy and time already. In between all that then add the run bts and many other bts early variety shows, music/talk show hostings, bon voyage, hustle life, tv commercials, interviews, fan meets, photoshoots for pretty much everything (brand, magazine, albums, other projects), winter/summer packages..no real time off/breaks, like the constant pushing of contents and working them until over exhaustion when music should be the main focus- who wouldnt feel lost and suffocate? The company worked them so hard.

But a major part of why the song chosen to sing back to them was Young Forever, was because we learned that after bts had a hard time in 2018 that young forever became a very special song to them, especially Jimin bc he talked about in that log that watching army sing that song to them helped him a lot. I remember starting my journey as an ARMY in 2018. I always wondered how one of them suddenly became really thin and quiet during Fake Love's promo. But I saw how the others supported him by letting him be even during public interviews. And their schedule was so hectic during that time... I love how they always support one another. Indeed, what a relief there were seven of them. After this season, they had their first extended break. I was so glad they had the freedom to do that as well and believed that it was instrumental to their continuing as a team.

Jimin wasn't talking about the concert at Wembley Stadium as the VLive happened before 2019. It was a different concert when ARMYs sang Young Forever back to BTS. Another reason I think why the members were struggling other than the exhaustion physically and mentally, it was the hate and unprovoked attack they got. It would have added so much stress to them.

Wow I can't describe the love I have for this boys, I have loved them for almost 9 years, I gaved them my teenage years and I did not regret that at all, they gave me beautiful years of my life, I'm just so proud of their humble beginnings,and even if they've reached the top they are still the humble guys I've known in the past, but the saddest part is I haven't see them in person 😢 I wish to ever since, I wish that when they come back in 2015 and do concerts they'll visit my country
I think i read in the book that the company wanted to give them like hiatus because they were exhausted (like 6 months) but they decided that the right thing to do was to continue because they were doing really well.
Yeah the guys didn't agree to it because i think they thought that they were working so hard, had these opportunities opened up and it was a chance to cement themselves in the US industry (and worldwide overall) that they decided to push more instead of letting it all go to waste or have all this be for nothing. And now in retrospect it really paid off. ‘So far away’ is such a beautiful song both versions the original with Suran, and the version with Jin and Jungkook. They sang it live once on stage with all the members participating which was good but not as powerful as the Jin and Jungkook version with their powerful voices. They didn’t take time off. At the point of Fake Love V desperately wanted to take 1 day off and even thought about getting injured at this time in order to be able to rest. They were allowed a half day and Jin said that really annoyed him.
A day and a half* that half a day especially pissed him off because its like "why dont we have two days but day AND a half" but they understood it was necessary back then to push because now in retrospect that period of their hard work really helped cement them to be where they are now. Just a little note, that YOUNG FOREVER song is not from the Wembley concert. Wembley happened in 2019 This was their "HYYH On Stage: Epilogue" Concert from 2016, right before they came out with the "WINGS" album.
In 2018, they were struggling both physically and mentally a lot. And they earned more success than anyone had ever seen before. But that's what was really shocking to us all. We never knew there was this going on. It is only in MAMA 2018 Artist of the Year speech that Jin confessed to them even thinking to the point of disbandment. They had overcome it by then. This is why LY Trilogy was an important album series.
It was absolutely heartbreaking for us all. We all cried at that speech, even other idols present there cried. This is all the more because BTS truly inspired us. They changed me. There used to be days when calling yourself a kpop fan or BTS ARMY would make everyone else make fun of you, still happens actually. But now, I can confidently say in front of others that BTS has changed me so much, and I'm extremely grateful for that. BTS made that change happen in the global industry. The intro track you heard (SUGA's mixtape song "So Far Away"), I used to listen to it every night crying myself to sleep for a year. That song is extremely close to my heart and still is. No one was able to understand me then and I never asked for help. But that one song and these 7 boys absolutely changed everything.
To see these people struggling made us all cry.

Young Forever is a very meaningful song to Jimin. Wembley happened after his vlog (he was likely referencing their Epilogue tour), so you can just imagine how emotional he got during the Wembley YF stint by ARMY. He now has Young Forever tattooed on him. BTS is not only made up of artists we admire greatly, they are also our best friends. It’s wild to think how special and how big a part they are in my life. 💜
just a little note, wembley hadnt happened here yet (happens on the second half of 2019) and so after we saw how much young forever meant for him (he even got it tattooed) it was even more emotional IMO to sing it back at them :')

2018 was a crazy you, just thinking about it. They went to BBMA and AMA in late 2017 with the whole world being curious about who they were. In 2018 they had to do better to prove themselves and show the world who they were so they had to work harder, on top of that they were touring in so many countries in the same year, in between they released an album, attended various American shows and awards, attended Korean music shows and events whilst releasing an album, doing interviews, going on tour, doing run bts, bon voyage all in the same year. It was indeed a crazy year for them and i can feel how tired they were. Starting from 2019 u realized they didnt attend some of these events and only sent a vcr and they relaxed a bit as compared to 2018. They had also proven to anyone who doubeted them by this time and i am happy they made it through because they sowed a good seed and if they had parted ways in 2018 it would have been sad, all this success would have gone to waste but we are happy when they are happy

Yes you're correct. During their 1+ month break in from august-ish 2019 bighit released a notice to basically leave the members alone (ofc said much more nicely than im saying right now lolol😂) and that the guys r taking a break to recharge and live life

Also, you questioned at the end if they took time off but you saw in Taehyung's suchwita episode and in others too them saying they were just struggling without time to take it off, Jin said on his episode they had only one day and half off back then, don't remember if weekly or monthly tho!! I think the only time they had were that trip Jimin talked about, which btw, even tho it showed some of clips of the Run BTS episode it's not what he was talking about, they had a trip only them with no cameras!!!

Just a little clarification for Young Forever. BTS went through their big mental/emotional upheaval in late 2017/early 2018. The video of fans singing Young Forever that jimin saw was from their past concert in 2015/2016. So jimin later shared with us that it was this song and video that helped him, which THEN sort of inspired the Young Forever surprise in Wembley in 2019 thats why jimin started bawling so quickly because he remembered that hard time he was having and watching fans singing Young Forever and then seeing ARMYs sing that again to him after knowing how much it means to him was what touched him even more.

Hey guys just wanted to let you know, that no they didn't have any time off during this time. All they got was 1 day off per month! Which is why they were so burnt out. Jimin was saying he was realllyyy struggling for 4 months and then started to reflect why "this was the only job" for him. Also ARMYs surprising BTS at Wembley happened in 2019 so it was AFTER this! This period in time is 2017-2018. Jimin was talking about ARMYs singing Young Forever to BTS during they HYYH concert! You can see their T-shirts in the clips in this video which shows that its from that concert :)

Lets not forget, just writing, preparing for the songs, dance practices, recording and concerts alone takes a lot of energy and time already. In between all that then add the run bts and many other bts early variety shows, music/talk show hostings, bon voyage, hustle life, tv commercials, interviews, fan meets, photoshoots for pretty much everything (brand, magazine, albums, other projects), winter/summer packages..no real time off/breaks, like the constant pushing of contents and working them until over exhaustion when music should be the main focus- who wouldnt feel lost and suffocate? The company worked them so hard.
It wasn’t the Wembley performance that Jimin was talking about, that tour came later. But a major part of why the song chosen to sing back to them was Young Forever, was because we learned that after bts had a hard time in 2018 that young forever became a very special song to them, especially Jimin bc he talked about in that log that watching army sing that song to them helped him a lot. It is why he has a tattoo of the song title too

That's what made Wembley so special to Jimin, is that ARMYs once again chose to sing a song to BTS that already had given comfort to Jimin

I remember starting my journey as an ARMY in 2018. I always wondered how one of them suddenly became really thin and quiet during Fake Love's promo. But I saw how the others supported him by letting him be even during public interviews. And their schedule was so hectic during that time... I love how they always support one another. Indeed, what a relief there were seven of them. After this season, they had their first extended break. I was so glad they had the freedom to do that as well and believed that it was instrumental to their continuing as a team.

Jimin wasn't talking about the concert at Wembley Stadium as the VLive happened before 2019. It was a different concert when ARMYs sang Young Forever back to BTS.
Another reason I think why the members were struggling other than the exhaustion physically and mentally, it was the hate and unprovoked attack they got. It would have added so much stress to them.

I think i read in the book that the company wanted to give them like hiatus because they were exhausted (like 6 months) but they decided that the right thing to do was to continue because they were doing really well.
Yeah the guys didn't agree to it because i think they thought that they were working so hard, had these opportunities opened up and it was a chance to cement themselves in the US industry (and worldwide overall) that they decided to push more instead of letting it all go to waste or have all this be for nothing. And now in retrospect it really paid off. They got stronger, better, bigger, their music is known and loved by more people, they re discovered why they do this why they work so hard and thats its all because of their love for music and for army😭😭🫂🫂🫂💜
