One thing the video misses: unlike Harden and Westbrook, Jokic drops triple-doubles with relatively MUCH LOWER usage rates. And he's wildly, wildly efficient, with some of the highest PER in the league. He's a superstar who doesn't need the ball for most of the game. I don't think that's very normal. I also think it's amazing.
A small market, unmarketable foreign player that so happens to be one of the best players in the world is like ESPNs worst nightmare lol, I love Jokic and hope he continues to destroy the league for years
One of the most efficient player i've ever seen. Doesn't matter if he becomes mvp or not. He'll be part of history considering his stats and ridiculous consistancy
He’s setting a new standard for the traditional big. Traditional bigs have been getting phased out for some time, but Jokic’s impact on winning may be building a new archetype for what future centers will be.
put my money on what you said... its similar to ZBO.. He wasnt super athletic but let me tell you once that man went to work very few players where able to stop MR. Randolph...
@Willie Gordon I'd say he is already, in the last 3 years they've been a 2 seed and back to back 3 seed. Melo was great but not as complete, and Fat Lever was only part of what Jokic does
In 20 years, Jokic will be recognized as someone who has transformed the way players play in the center/power forward position, something similar to what Steph Curry did with a three-point shot. First of all, I mean the higher participation of "Big's" in the organization of the game and more assists on average. Examples are: Bam Adebayo (increased from 2.2 to 5.4 assists) Domantas Sabonis (increase from 2.9 to 6.7 assists) Julius Randle (increased from 3.1 to 6 assists)
Well we all have seen the passes (including the one handed pass to start an attack), 3 point scoring and the IQ, and the name of the center was Arvydas Sabonis. Of course he tells his own son to work more on footwork and pass more. NB I dont deny that Nikola is exceptional. All the respect to Denver scouts, analysts and decision makers.
@@unikaluspaveldas5644 Players are limited by what their coaches allow them to do. Nikola's example will lead to more big players being allowed to play that way.

What can I say, serbian school. Though I was crying when we lost in 2016 in finals Serbia vs USA, back then we had so much good players, but you guys have them now.
Put any 4 decent players on the court with jokic and you not only make the playoffs but win a series. Look at the blazers. Facu, rivers, mpj, and Gordon were his starting lineup and mpj played pretty bad because he had a back tweak.
I think even with his career thus far, he's got to be the greatest draft steal of all time. Sure you've got Kobe who got picked 13th and Steve Nash at 15th but 40th?
every time i see Niko play it's like i'm seeing a tall man playing among children that can jump good the way he is so fast. i've only seen Zydrunas Illgauskas do similar things but he never had the same speed.
At the time of this post (all-star break 21-22), the Nuggets are 33-25 (sixth seed), despite being without Jamal Murray and Michael Porter for essentially the whole season. It's 90% Joker, who's averaging 26 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists. Basketball-Ref attributes 10.6 wins to him (the next closest is Ante with 9.8), and he has a VORP (value over replacement player) of 7.0 - the next closest is, again, Ante with 5.4; that's right, Jokic is 30% ahead of Ante. Once you get past the top 6 (rounded out by Embiid, LBJ, Curry and Doncic - no small names there), his VORP is at least double anyone else. I absolutely love Ante and the way he plays - but make no mistake, Jokic is almost surely the best player in the league. The main thing that might stop him from winning MVP this year is the fact the Nuggets are barely above the 50% line. Edit: ha, just got to the bit where he got 16 triples last season. He's up to 15 so far this season... with 24 games to go.
I think how strong the nuggets have stayed with the absence of Jamal is truly remarkable. Jokic has turned an 5’10, 29 year old Argentinian rookie and washed up Austin rivers into starting caliber guards. Also, people trying to discredit the nuggets bubble performance last year has become a flopped narrative now that they’re the only team who made it to their conference finals still in the play offs this year lol
He really does not care. At the end of the day, numbers speak for itself, and his stats and numbers by the end of his career will be in top 5 all time. I mean rebounds, assists, pts, few rings. Joker is for sure MVP, and I like that he can care less about stupid NBA journalists.
Here's what I'm seeing with Jokic and Doncic. Jokic breaks into the NBA and people questioned whether he really deserved to be there, he more than proved that he did, now people are starting to realise he not only deserves to be there but that he's excelling. Doncic blows into the scene after Jokic paved the way and he kind of overshadowed Jokic, and not that he wasn't playing good, either, but now people are starting to watch Jokic, too. People want to trash these guys because their play is slower and they can't jump, yet they can't stop them either. They're showing gaps in the armor of other players and they're not taking kindly to it.
This just proved that the NBA has one of the worst fanbases in professional sports. It's got some pretty chill and sensible ones, but it is overrun with casuals and clout-chasers. The smaller markets also get little to no respect. As a Pelicans fan, I am tired of seeing the monthly article saying Zion should leave when we are clearly in a rebuild and making strides. The media in general is the absolute worst when it comes to this sport.
