Maria, You need to apply the Chutney and butter just before serving. Also keep the Sandwiches covered in an airtight container or plastic shrink wrapped bowl or tray if you make them slightly earlier. Hope this helps 🙂
Wow what a lovely green colour ... Thanks for sharing .... what is the measure of 1 cup that you use - is it 200 ml / 240 ml / 250 ml? Please let me know ....Thanks once again
Verena, Thank you so much for sharing your mum's secret ingredient. Did your mother by any chance live in the middle East for some time 🙂 Because there Dates are available everywhere and used in a lot of recipes. God Bless 🙏
Vanessa D,, The color of the final Chutney will predominantly depend on the color of the coriander leaves, colour of the green chillies and the other ingredients used in the Chutney.
Thanks Jeni for the tip, will definitely try it next time. But this generally works when you're making mint chutney. Have never tried it with coriander based Chutney. 🙂
Melita, thank you so much, Sorry didn't see your comment as it was posted under someone else's comment. The quantity of sugar mentioned in the recipe will give the exact taste we desire, but you can reduce it if you're trying to avoid sugar or don't like using too much of it. End of the day you need to like the taste not us 😉
Hazel, the taste will be different if you grind raw Onion without cooking as it will turn into onion juice. But if the Onion is cooked before grinding it will have a nice sweet taste. Do try this recipe and let me know your feedback. Also we have mentioned in the video that if you want to keep the Chutney for longer then you need to cook it for some time. 🙂
@@GetCookingNow okay. I made it today as I learnt from my mother. Will try your version next time. All ingredients are the same except for cooking. Living alone everything lasts for too long. That's why I always give away half.

How to keep sandwiches soft moist after applying chutney?
Maria, You need to apply the Chutney and butter just before serving. Also keep the Sandwiches covered in an airtight container or plastic shrink wrapped bowl or tray if you make them slightly earlier. Hope this helps 🙂

I make this chutney minus the onion and I add about 4 - 6 Dates it gives it a Wonderful Flavour .(My Mum's secret Ingredient )
Verena, Thank you so much for sharing your mum's secret ingredient. Did your mother by any chance live in the middle East for some time 🙂 Because there Dates are available everywhere and used in a lot of recipes. God Bless 🙏
Is fried onions vompulsory?
It's not compulsory but it does add extra taste
I made this chutney today. It's delicious but the colour is not asbright green like yours. How can o achieve this green colour
Vanessa D,, The color of the final Chutney will predominantly depend on the color of the coriander leaves, colour of the green chillies and the other ingredients used in the Chutney.
Also add 2 cube of ice before grinding this will help retain colour
Thanks Jeni for the tip, will definitely try it next time. But this generally works when you're making mint chutney. Have never tried it with coriander based Chutney. 🙂
How long can we keep this chutney.
Maria, you can store this chutney in the refrigerator for atleast a week, In the freezer it will last for a month or more.
Thank you for your prompt reply.
You're welcome & do feel free to ask any questions that you may have on our recipes. Happy Cooking!
Your recipe looks delicious. Just wanted to know if 2 tablespoons of sugar will be too much? I try to avoid white sugar.
Melita, thank you so much, Sorry didn't see your comment as it was posted under someone else's comment. 👌👌🍜🍜👌👌
Thank you so much Sushama 🙂
Coconut chutney recipe
Yes, thank you so much🙂
Curious why the sugar??
Adding Sugar to Chutney makes it taste much better. Do try it out and give me your feedback 🙂
👍👍 🇱🇰
😀
I grind the onions and then the whole mix is cooked in oil. This way the chutney lasts longer. Being a single person I do it this way.

Why did you fry the onion
Marceline, frying the onion will remove the raw taste of onion & give it a sweet somewhat caramelized taste!
I mostly dry roast the onions...the rest of if the recipe is the same as I make it
Thank you so much for your feedback Rosy 🙂
Very Yummy And Tasty New Subscribe Sir 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much Bithi 🙂
Hi hello.
Hi Maria 😃
I do not prefer to add tamarind. Any other option.
Lokesh, you can add lime juice instead of Tamarind 🙂
P❤
Thanks Noreen!🙂
