This is my first ever attempt at using the menstrual disc!!! Absolutely terrifying to try, but wasn’t too bad. It’s more like you have to ready yourself for it because it’s new.

    From amazon:
HAVE THE MOST COMFORTABLE PERIOD OF YOUR LIFE. Over 64% of surveyed users reported fewer period cramps when using Flex Disc compared to their previous product; 80% reported less dryness and irritation. When inserted correctly, you can’t even feel it.
ENJOY UP TO 12 HOURS OF LEAK PROTECTION. Unlike tampons, Flex Discs provide all-day wear and are not associated with TSS. Forget running to the bathroom every few hours to change your tampon or pad. Flex Disc holds as much as 3+ super tampons.
BODY-SAFE. Flex Disc is made in Canada with 100% medical-grade polymers that won’t disrupt your vaginal flora. All Flex products are FDA registered, hypoallergenic, BPA- and phthalate-free, and made without natural rubber latex.
EASY TO USE. Flex Disc is beginner-friendly and designed to make insertion, placement, and removal a breeze. The firm rim pinches in half to about the same size as a tampon. To insert, just angle the pinched disc down and back as far as it will go, then tuck the front rim up behind your pubic bone.
DESIGNED FOR AN ACTIVE LIFESTYLE. Experience period freedom. Flex Disc fits into your active lifestyle so you can swim, sleep, squat, summit, and do everything you love to do when you’re not on your period. The disc is great for all flows and designed to fit most bodies.
PERSONALIZED SUPPORT. Get live help from a real human every day of the week. Our U.S.-based Flexperts are available via chat, text, or call to help you with insertion or removal, share tips and tricks, or to answer any of your burning questions.

The reusable one is just as hygienic as the other ones please do not misinform people about that

I mentioned that it was for my particular situation not wanting to run out and have to use the sink in a public restroom with multiple stalls, but I agree, it can be just as hygienic if you have all of the resources available.

I tried the flex today (I work from home) and I agree it’s a learning curve in regards to placement. Good video.

I have tried the nixit disc and it’s amazing. I wouldn’t be opposed to try the flex reusable. Also no, just because it’s disposable doesn’t mean it’s more hygienic.

Ok. Good to know. Also, you’re right, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s more hygienic, but after I’ve spoken to a bunch of girls who have used the reusable ones, they said their main complaint is not having access to clean water to rinse out their flex or diva cup reusables… In that case, if you don’t have access to clean water, then it would be more hygienic and convenient to have a disposable one instead of running out to have your used one in your hand to then wash in public bathroom sink.

@@LifeRNhungrynursetravels That's the good thing about the disc (whether disposable or reusable), you only need to take it out every 12 hours to clean. So you are probably at home (at some point) or at a friends place and not out. Keep the disc inside during the day and simply auto-dump. That's why it is so much easier than a cup.
The disc was a game changer for me!!! I'm using the Lumma disc (reusable) since two years and it works great. I wanna try the flex reusable disc. Hoping it allows a longer time span until I need to auto-dump on my heavy days. That's why I'm searching for reviews of discs. 😀
There is a bit of a learning curve for discs, but I figured it out quickly. A tilted cervix could be trickier, but maybe the size or firmness is not right for you. Fortunately there are more discs available now to choose from. Don't give up too quickly. I think the disc is the absolute best period product. I wish I had this earlier in my life!!!

@@katharina1788 yeah, I usually have crazy, heavy periods and just looking for something that will help stop me from going so often to the restroom. When I’m at home, I’m good, but 12hrs is usually one shift if you’re a nurse so I’m not so lucky when it comes to that sense in being in the comfort of my own home to remove it… we have public restrooms, with multiple stalls and sinks that are outside of the stalls. Haha. So, on those days… ick.
I will be sure to keep trying different discs. Thanks for your recommendation!

@@LifeRNhungrynursetravels If you find a disc that works for you, I then just would get a second disc if washing it there is no option. Have the second clean one in your bag. The used one, you can wipe with toilet paper, wrap it in toilet paper and put it in your bag (discs often come with pouches, simply put it in there) until you can wash it.
